Happy Birthday to my sister...my little sister is 31 today. :) I made us all a nice healthy dinner, and shared a piece of angelfood cake with my baby. So I did pretty well today! I'm just waiting for my sitter so I can get out for a nice walk before the sun goes down. Just gotta watch out for the bears...:eek:
 
you are off to a great start. Please remember to listen to your body. You are still a few weeks out from having your baby and you have another child to look after. Believe me I know mommy has to stay healthy no matter what because mommy has to take care of everyone. Wait untill your doctor has given you the ok to exercise again. Even after he gives you the ok you need to listen to your body and not over do anything. You cant afford to become sore. The weight will come off and if it is slowly it will stay off. Dont sweat the icecream and the cake. If you only have it on the rare occasion enjoy it. What I tell my clients when it comes to icecream only 1/2 cup and eat it in a fancy bowl with a baby spoon. It will take longer to eat so saver the flavor. Anything that melts stays in the bowl. Same thing with the cake eat it with a shrimp fork. It will last longer and you need to eat it slowly and drink water with it. It will give you a fuller feeling so you wont eat as much.
Best of luck to you. I know that you will take off the weight.

Today's a good day! Had a nice long weekend, and despite the special occasions and too much sitting at the computer, I am now at exactly 140. I'm so excited to see that 139 tomorrow. :) :) :)
 
I have passed my original goal, but haven't quite made it to my final one yet. It'll come. I'm counting on being there completely by Christmas at the latest. I wanna knock 'em dead at all the Christmas parties.:santa:

You've done so awesome - I cant remeber when I originally started - it was aug/sept and I am not down no 60lbs ha ha ha...LOL...seriously though - you've done awesome!!!:hug2: You are also the reason I joined here so thanx Chicky:)

Thanks Cerella! And you're welcome for bringing you to this place...you're the only one out of all of my friends I've brought here to actually stick with it. I'm proud of you!!


Tammy, for years I've had this dream of wearing the sexiest costume ever for Halloween when I reached my goal weight. But every year, less and less people dress up. Last year it was my friends and I, and maybe 2 other people. What a bunch of party poopers.
 
You were right I only read your first page. I am new to computers and couldnt figure out how to get to the last page. I am just slow. I am thrilled that you have done so great. I wish everyone could read some of these threads and lose the weight that they struggle with. Keep up the great work.

I've decided to start my own little stomach crunch challenge again. My stomach still feels so loose and blah. I know, I still need to get rid of the fat over top of it, and sit-ups won't help spot reduce, but it does make the muscle under the fat feel tighter, and it makes me more conscious of holding my tummy in. :rofl:

suggestion for your belly

This is what I specialize in. First posture is everything. If you get your ribcage elevated that will automatically lengthen your abdominal muscles and you will feel a tightening in the area. You will also feel your mid back fatigue after a short while which means you need to strengthen your mid back muscles.
As you stand straight or sit straight your shoulders will automatically be moved back and down. (neck in alignment with your shoulders.) Good posture.

Here is the kicker - start with diaphragmatic breathing while in this perfected body position you will incorporate your abs and literally be working them. (I go into alot more detail in my DVD's about proper breathing and working abs) Clients get the best results in the belly and hip area starting with their first week.

An easy ab exercise besides crunches- while you are in the car and stopped at a traffic light or sitting in traffic - sit tall and extend your arms over your steering wheel. If it is only your hands that reach that is fine too. gently press down with both hand on top of the wheel and you will feel your abdominal muscles engage. You can also do this while sitting at a table,desk or even at a bar.

Personally I have not done a single crunch in over 4 years. I hate them but I do other things to strengthen my abs and the above exercise is one of them.

Not to be me tooing, but that is one thing my trainer always stresses with me, sucking in the gut to strengthen those muscles. It does help and I am getting better at it.
