K, so Chris mentioned he is going to move into the beach house he inherited, and wants me to join. I'm thrilled--I love the mountains, but the commute SUCKS and living alone is scary, no matter how many guns I own. He would charge me no rent, and we could have parties and cook lots of great meals! YAY! Only thing is the surgery.....really scary as he might not make it :( Ugh but I believe he WILL :smash: This may all happen in the next 4 months or so. Here are the Halloween pictures: (he's a Samurai--and his clothes are REAL, too)
Remember, he is very ill and on drugs.....

Very cool costumes, both of you.

The beach house sounds great for you. What would that be for a commute, then? Also, when is his surgery?

he's waiting for a pancreas.....waiting......waiting......

wish I could give him one but I don't got two!

Hmm, I live 29 miles and about 40-55 minutes away from my main job, and on Saturdays it's about 50 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.

The new place would be about 19 minutes.

So my face is all stiff and reddened from the peel--the skin hasn't started to peel, but it WILL!!!

Going to belly dancing anyway--then Delana's Yoga 1-2--looking forward to it all, I didn't do any formal workouts Fri-Sun, so I feel lazy--course I haven't been eating as much, either--seems like a few of us on here have missed more workouts than we wanted and still lost pounds or maintained weight--NICE! Won't last forever!

AHHH VBF those pictures of you two are so cute! I love his outfit, totally cool. I love martial arts and actually me and my sons took it together for awhile, I lost some good weight doing that, and I'm seriously thinking about joining again by myself this time. I really enjoyed it!!!

I so wish he could find a pancreas too, that just sucks man I hate when people have to wait on organs, it's just not fair at all. He looks like super guy and if your hanging with him, I'm certain he is. It's wonderful he has you for support, ahhhhh your so wonderful!

Up for another race again huh? wow, that's my goal someday too, you know I've always talked about running a race, I just need to get out there and do it. I need to shut up and put up I guess, it's time.

About the commute, UGGGG I did that from Vacaville to San Francisco for about a year. I got up it was dark, and when I got home it was dark, it was like I never saw day until the weekend came rolling around. Even though the money was good, I missed a lot. So, I'm sure you'll make the best decision for yourself and whatever makes you happy, which is how it really should be. Hope it all works out good for ya! Sounds like a gorgeous place to be.

Well, it's back to skimming by diary's~~ Lot's of hugs!
Kimmers

Great pics of you and Chris.

I know what the waiting is like when somebody needs a donor organ. (not me, family member). I hope there is one for him soon.

I've been trying to get ahold of her... not very successfully. I miss my morniing coffeee friend.

Bummer! Geez I hope everything is all right--probably has to do with Military Intelligence or something.......top secret!

Would you ever go back? I's like to do MMA someday but my current workout schedule is so fun and takes up so much time, I want to stick with it for a bit....

He looks like super guy and if your hanging with him, I'm certain he is.

He is a brilliant genius, and my best buddy :beating:

Maleficent walks races---she suffered an injury where her diaphram is collapsed and cannot run, or she won't be able to breathe--but she likes the T-shirts from the races :)

UGH! Vacaville! BLEH!!!!
Damn, that sucks--did you have to go over the Bay Bridge? Traffic sucks. See you around, glad to have you "back." :D :hug2:

Great pics of you and Chris.

Thanks! I'm sure there will be, but there are some "politics" involving his pain specialist and Stanford. He needs to take care of some things before he gets the organ--I keep encouraging him to do so, but he says lately he has a difficult time getting up earlier than 5pm!

141 still

 :biggrinjester: Yay I'm still 141.0 lbs this morning! And I even had sushi for dinner last night! :biggrinjester:

Meaning sodium--which can make me heavier the next day--but not this time!

Belly dancing was FUN, we're learning this new dance that is super HOT--Egyptian style, really elegant, great music, small, controlled movements--drives me crazy because I want to stomp around and make more dramatic movements--nope, I gotta hold it in and only give some of it away ;)

Yoga, we had a substitute--Talya. Her style was more beginner-friendly, so for the first time in a long time I didn't need to dab sweat off of me

Talya is a chef (and an Ayurvedic instructor), and she's going to be cooking my food at the Post Thanksgiving Yoga retreat. She asked the class (very nicely) if we would go to and vote for her Garlic Dream Sauce, so she can have a chance to be on TV!

Here:

Anyway, if you want to do something nice today for the lady who'll be cooking for me *lucky me! :)* in a few weeks, please vote for her--and check out the site if you like garlic! Talya has her own website, here is the link for her recipe for the Garlic Dream Sauce:

And the recipe itself:

GARLIC DREAM SAUCE

Vegan, Gluten-Free and Dairy Free - this recipe can be prepared as all RAW or not per your preference. Cashews replace heavy cream in this traditional dish. It is absolutely delightful and delicious over pasta, winter squash, steamed vegetables, fish and chicken. The variation makes a great "spread" for dehydrated crackers or toast. Plus, garlic's anti-biotic and anti-viral properties make this a health-giving condiment to keep around all Winter long.

Allow 15 - 20 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients:

1 Cup Raw Cashew Pieces

1 ½ Cups Cold Water

1 ½ Tbs. Raw Garlic, Peeled & Minced (about 4 cloves)

1 Tbs. Miso Paste

2 Tbs. Very Hot Water

1 Tbs. Fresh Lemon Juice

½ tsp. Mineralized Salt

¼ tsp. Coriander Powder

¼ tsp. Ground Black Pepper

1 tsp. Coconut Oil

1 tsp. Dried Dill Weed

2 Sprigs Fresh Rosemary (optional)

1/8 Cup Fresh or Dried Pomegranate Seeds (optional)

*Variation...

For a thicker sauce, or to use this recipe as a vegan spread, reduce Cold Water to 1 Cup and reduce Miso Paste by ½ Tbs. When serving this sauce over the holidays (for extreme beauty and delight), garnish with Fresh Rosemary and Fresh Pomegranate Seeds. So Delicious!

This recipe is being featured in Public Television Station KTEH's "KTEH COOKS WITH GARLIC" Cookbook! To watch a video of this recipe being prepared by Talya, please visit:

Enjoy!

Directions:

To make the Cashew Cream… Place Cashews and Cold Water in a blender. Process on high speed for 1 minute. Pause and scrape down the sides with a soft spatula. Process for another full minute - until your Cashew Cream sauce is smooth. Set aside.

Peel and finely mince garlic cloves. Set aside.

In a small glass or ceramic bowl, combine Miso paste with Hot water (recently boiled water is fine) until the miso paste has dissolved. Add Lemon Juice, Salt & Coriander Pepper. Stir again and set aside.

Place Coconut Oil in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add 1 Tbs. of Raw Garlic into the pan and sautee for one minute. The garlic will feel a little sticky but that’s O.K. Add the Miso mixture and the Cashew Cream. Stir well. Lower heat to simmer and stir for another 2 - 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining garlic, dill and... Voila!

Burning Man

Well, after joining the Nexus Nebula Yahoo Group I decided that I simply MUST go to Burning Man in 2009 :cheers2:

Alta??? You down? :D

The Nexus People are the best camp to set up with, for $150 extra they provide food, water, electricity, showers, protection, entertainment, and whatever else is up in there!

I can't go to Australia  The tickets cost $2,000!!!!!!!! So my vacation is going toward The Man--Burning one that is.

One more thing to look forward to!

OK Alta and I decided to go to Burning Man in 2009, and to camp with the Nexus Nebula people.

Burning Man or )'( is an annual event held in the Black Rock Desert, in Northern Nevada. The event starts on the Monday before, and ends on the day of, the American Labor Day holiday. It takes its name from the ritual burning of a large wooden effigy on Saturday evening.

The event is described by many participants as an experiment in community, radical self-expression, and radical self-reliance. Organizers have noted, "Trying to explain what Burning Man is to someone who has never been to the event is a bit like trying to explain what a particular color looks like to someone who is blind."

Alta and I both LOVE art and music--Nexus Nebula Camp is the WAY TO GO and I have several friends who can help me out with that....

This morning I planned on getting out of bed at 6am for AM Yoga and chanting--it seemed like I simply could NOT get my ass up. I DID, to feed Oliver (before going back to bed until 1) because he watches and waits for me to wakeup, and if I do, and don't feed him, he comes over and dances on my chest until I do. Bastard.

I DID manage to light a candle and say some "morning affirmations" to get me in a good mood--and it worked! :hurray:

I got to work too late to take an hour for lunch, so I'm at a half hour--and I promised Chris to help him clean his room today after work, so no workout for me. My face is peeling and it kinda itches/stings. No matter, it'll be better than ever in a few days.

I found 2 bottles of wine on my desk (giveaways) and a small container with sour gummy candy, of which I ate ALL :( Coupled with the no workouts today except the labor it's going to take to get Chris's room cleared for him to be able to WALK through (he currently resides in the living room, for the summer--it's too hot for him in his room but now it's changed and he can move back), I have to avoid any more sugary treats and stick to low-cal lunch and dinner.

I'm about to make something and then watch the belly dancing instructional video my teacher gave me to practice our new (and HARD) dance on lunchbreak.

:seeya:

Oh right, and there is a Dubstep DJ Full Moon party tonight, location TBA, usually they're outside at a beach, great weather, we're looking at low 80s this weekend....very little sleep tonight! :*(

Busy busy bunny you are, as usual :)

Hope the moving in with Chris thing works out for you. It sounds like a good idea to me. His Samurai costume looked great, as did your sexy ninja :D I will be thinking positive thoughts for him regarding the illness and transplant he needs. I've had something semi-similar happen in my family before and know it can be very stressful. My love to him ;)

Sorry to hear you won't be making it to Australia. I guess Burning Man will be the next best thing. You'll totally have a blast, especially if you get to meet up and party down with our very own saucy Alta:)

-Sam

Burning man would be right up my alley, but I go on vacation just two weeks before, so it would be hard to get both weeks off.
