Murphy is SJ? I would totally go to!! Too bad I'll be in Amsterdam!

One of these days, we're gonna have to meet up!

Perhaps I can drive to SC and go for a walk. I do love it there. Tried to surf there once, it was the hardest thing I've ever done. Straight thought I was going to die out there of exhaustion and drown. Props to the surfers!!!

Amsterdam! That's right!

Yes, come on down :) Maybe I can make you RUN :reddevil:

How about I'll bring my step, and you can run circles around me? LMAO!!

I can run in short bursts. I will bring my sis (LovelyLadyHumps) with me, she can run for hours!! That would be fun.

A nice run/walk, perhaps a healthy lunch. I bet SC has some nice organic restaurants and healthy eats.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hurray: Yes, we could go to La Vie. They have cooked food too, but it started as a raw organic vegan restaurant. They even have fish dishes now!

OK, so I just registered for the 10K, here's the info:

Run to Feed the Hungry has become an annual holiday tradition for countless area families. Beginning in 1994 with only 800 runners, the event now ranks as Sacramento Valley's largest annual run & fun run/walk. In 2007, 23,000 participants attended and raised over $600,000 for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. As we approach our 15th Anniversary we look forward to another record crowd and donations topping $750,000.

When I get back from Vegas and Europe, we'll do it! I'd love to go check on LaVie

Go girl with your 10K! Amazing!

What is that, 6 miles? I forget.

What is the date for that?

Alta, you and the others are gonna have so much fun in Vegas!! I'm jealous!

Sam: I don't know, I was checking out my income versus my expenses and sort of freaked out earlier today! Got a lot of work done, LOL!!! I don't think I should be spending ANY extra money at this point :ack2:

I'm off to Belly Dancing and then Yoga, and perhaps dinner with Chris.

I'm still dreadfully sore :nopity:

Today I started to get The Hysteria About The Economy along with the rest of the world (or basically the USA) because I made the mistake of reading some news :eek2:

Everything adds up! Today I spent $30 on the charity run for Thanksgiving, $20 donated to my belly dancing teacher's 32 year old female friend with 2 babies and diagnosed with a BRAIN TUMOR, and then signed up for Life Insurance so my friend would make her quota and not get fired from her job. :ack2: I can cancel at any time, and that's the idea, but Christine pointed out that if I were to, god forbid, get brain cancer myself, I'd have a large chunk of money to help deal with it from the insurance. I then started to trip out about how I could ever afford to be ill? When it comes down to it, I might not be able to afford the expense for Yoga at the Institute, or Belly dancing anymore. Gotta at least keep my gym membership.....

I feel for Stacy, man. Poor thing can barely afford groceries and she has a family to take care of!

That's terrible Val. I'm so sorry to hear about that. I honestly don't really think any American can afford to get ill with the cost of healthcare as what it is, so don't stress too much. I'm all for insurance, I guess it just gives me peace of mind or something... That sucks about having to possibly give up the Yoga at the Institute or Belly dancing... This economy sucks right now, so I just feel lucky I still have a job that pays half way decent. Your going to be just fine, your young, healthy and if you have to tighten up a few things budget wise for a little while, you'll be okay. I promise ;)

Mama-- Glad I can help!

Sam-- I talked to Chris, and he may help me out. Either way he helped me relax! I feel better now :)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :rotflmao: This brightened my day like you wouldn't believe!

My friend is in Korea teaching English to Korean 7th graders. She blogged about this today:

Today I gave my students a group writing exercise in which they had to pretend to be advice columnists.

Students were asked to discuss a letter from a 'reader' and then write a response.

The first letter I distributed was as follows:

- - - - -

Dear Buzz,

Last year I asked my girlfriend to marry me. We are crazy about each other and will get married in the spring.

The problem is my family. My grandparents have been making trouble. See, my girlfriend is Japanese and I am Korean. My family thinks that Koreans and Japanese should not marry. What should I do?

Sincerely,
Scott Kim

- - - - -

Here are a few of my favorite responses:

- Dear Scott,
I think you should run away and first make a baby. Then, your grandparents will allow you to get married.

- Dear Scott,
Steal money in the bank with your girlfriend and be arrested so You can live with your girlfriend in jail.

- Dear Scott,
I think you should wait. Then long time later, your grandparents will die. At that time, you can marry your girlfriend. Good bye Scott, and have triple twin babies.

- Dear Scott,
I think you should lie. Say she make a baby. Grandparents will allow you marry. Then you will make a baby for true.

- Dear Scott,
I think you should give much money and give luxury sports car. And give luxury house. Luxury shoes?

- Dear Scott,
That's too bad. I think you should leave your girlfriend. Get Korean girlfriend Because they are beautiful.

In another class, I offered the following scenario:

Dear Buzz,
My wife is spending all of my money! She buys nonsense, like clothes and make-up. I'm glad that she wants to look beautiful, but I work like a dog for my money. Don't I deserve to have a good time, too? What should I do?

Sincerely,
Brenton

Here are some student responses:

- Dear Brenton,
Hi. How are you? Your wife is very bad. Your wife has problem. You should divorce your wife and start new other woman. Your wife is crying now!

You are welcome.
Buzz.

- Dear Brenton,
Your wife is very crazy. She have to go to hosptial. You should say 'Don't touch my money'.

- Dear Brenton,
Because of you. If you don't marry, your money don't have spent. Also, your wife? You should ban your wife to withdraw money from your account.

- Dear Brenton,
Use the gun. Your wife shot and go to the Korea! Change name and face, no one to see.

Love,
Buzz
