LOL Kimberly!!! :smilielol5:

I am incredibly busy this morning with lots of priorities, but I'll get around to addressing comments and checking up on you friends eventually!

Last Night: Didn't run into Nick :( BUT I had an amazing, wonderful time. I forgot how much I miss Dancehall Reggae. DJ Rudi B is actually AN ATTORNEY by day  and his brother is DJ Osha B, aka Selecta 7, who ran the Reggae program portion of UCSC's radio station, KZSC, for 5 years--and I used to listen to his show all the time because Reggae was my favorite genre back when I was 19-20. Small world, I tell ya. Anyway, Chris and I had dinner and stayed until 11:30, as the place filled up with lots of Reggae enthusiasts. Turns out Chris likes Reggae! A lot! I'd only heard him listen to death metal and obscure, traditional Japanese "music." We had a great time listening to music, sitting on the comfy couch together drinking wine, and people-watching. Anyway, I'm going to exchange music with DJ Rudi B because there are a bunch of songs I used to listen to whose artists were unknown to me, that I remember. And he studies music and doesn't know the Bar Kays! By the way Injoy 1979 is such a great album :)

Tonight I'm going to the Cypress AGAIN for a hip hop show and my buddy Al just called a few minutes ago asking whaddup, so we'll go together. Fun times, fun times.

Yesterday I got my ass kicked in Kickboxing, and Delana had a smaller class so she whooped our asses in Yoga 2, making us practice handstands and she tried to get us to do ! Uh, NO ONE in the class managed it except ONE girl and she couldn't do it for very long. Wow. Delana made me feel like I had just been to a Bondage and Discipline Sado-masochism facility :willy_nilly:

Anyway I gotta go, be back later! :waving:

Glad you had a good night out with Chris. too bad you didn't run into your new nick. ;) Hope you have fun tonight!
Looking at the pose Delana tried to get you to do, holy $hit. I doubt I'll ever get to the point that I could do that. I'm really not dedicated enough to get that good. Though if you keep going the way you're going I"m sure you'll get there.
Take care Bunny bella. ;)

I was watching a Bollywood movie last night and there was all kinds of belly-dancing moves. Not real belly dancing, but all kinds of the moves mixed into the choreography.

Wow, a kickboxer too! Remind me never to upset you Val LOL

Val brace yourself, I'm not quite sure how it happened, but...

Trops was doing yoga!!

'Course, I he may not have realized that Planks were yoga, but... ignorance is no excuse...

Good Morning and Happy Monday Val. Hope you had a fantastic weekend!!

And here's to a great last week of October!! Lets make it a good one! :cheers2:

G'mornin Val :)

Sounds like you had a fun weekend. I like me some reggae too... ever since Hawaii I've loved the genre.

Holy shit!

I have some serious catching up to do but my weekend was OUT OF CONTROL!!!!

It's all fun and games until somebody(ies) dies...

Friday night I just figured I'd head to the Cypress Lounge for the hip hop show there, no big deal, seven bones and a can of food, right? And Al decided to roll with me. I did things propa and brought a bottle of wine for all the staff at the Cypress, including Ashton the owner, who apparently works his butt off. And ya know, Al and I had our own bottle of wine and salmon salad to start.

Then Dante's Roaming Empire came out. They were good, but they got better and better. They brought in b-boyz and a b-gurl who busted out moves like I ain't NEVER seen--seriously, that chick was the BEST female breakdancer I have ever witnessed, occasionally breaking into BALLET and shit! That hip hop show was off the HEEZY and there was also pro graffiti goin' on in the back of the Cypress where some drunk guy asked me "Do you know the mayor?"

The only problem was that after a while, I looked around and realized Al and I were the only audience, and the only people left who were NOT from Detroit. This was weird to me. Here, we were kickin' it Old School, East Coast styly in Santa Cruz, and Santa Cruz wasn't even there to witness it. Al and I REPRESENTED.
But yeah, it was odd--such a great show and for who? Al and I? Before we left, the whole crew took pictures of themselves in front of the graffiti mural, posing and smoking blunts and shit. It was dark and Al and I weren't mingling with them much, so I'll have to take a closer look next time I'm there.

After we ate a late night snack at the only place open until 3am in SC, Saturn Cafe, we walked back to my car down the main drag. Right there on Pacific Ave. at about 2:10am, we saw a body on a stretcher being SLOWLY put away and they were in NO hurry to take it anywhere. Jeez.

Oh yeah and at Highlands Park, too.....while I was driving by, another body, no hurry to get it to the hospital or nuthin'. I seen my share of dead people I'm afraid, but two in one night was a bit much for me. :willy_nilly:

UFC sucked!...

Saturday after work, I headed straight to San Mateo to watch the UFC fights on free Pay Per View at a bar with Trisha and her boyfriend and his buddies. But the bar was closed! So we walked to their other friend's house and watched it THERE. WOW most of the fights sucked--PRIDE rules, UFC can't compare! But one of the fights was dope and savage--a Brazilian (who won) versus a bleached blond guy named Josh from San Jose. The guys told me Josh was a total douchebag, so I was glad to see him lose BUT he sure is tough, maihn! Got kicked SO many times in the legs, OUCH!!

Now you know I'm not into any sports except fighting. Well, I'm WAY TOO INTO IT :rotflmao: You should have heard me!!! Yelling and calling out what someone should have done better, or praising a submission or great kickboxing techniques, waving my beer around and occasionally jumping out of my chair!!! Or yelling about how I hate stalling and hugging, and criticizing one fight saying "I seen GIRL FIGHTS ten times better than this shit!!!"...one of the friends there, Steve, is a 5th degree black belt in some kind of discipline, I forget, but he was agreeing with a lot of what I said and he trains pros!!! I was surprised about how much I know :) Wow it was a fun time

Ass kicking Ashtanga Yoga....

Sunday morning I said my goodbyes to Trisha and drove to Monkey Yoga Shala in Oakland for Tim's class. :eek2: I had no idea they heat it to 90 degrees in there, and that Tim barks out orders and criticisms. He made people do pull ups in the front of the room and told us, "You're not Yoga students unless you know the names of the poses in English and Sanskrit, and the stories behind them!" I have never been to a more non-Zen Yoga class in my life. But, I liked it! He pushed us all and I sweated all over my mat. I was trying to do a few poses and he grabbed me and twisted me harder because my "arm pit should have been farther over". However, he DID compliment me in a few poses, and even said, "I think you can do the final Marichyasana A!" and he grabbed my wrists roughly to straighten my arms, and shoved my face into my shin with his hand on my upper back. "UGH!" I moaned, but he was pleased that I was in the "final position" and I was pleased that I wasn't injured in the process! And yes, while he was teaching us a modified version of , he watched me try and said, "If you can bend back like that, arch yourself more--the object is to put your head on your feet," so I tried and he praised me because apparently I came close.

My back is very strong and very flexible. It's getting to be exceptionally strong and flexible. This is great, I have been scarred for life from my grandma and step dad suffering from herniated disks. I have never seen anyone in more pain. It is one of my life's missions to maintain a healthy back and heart.

After Yoga I went to Point Richmond for my brother's b-day. His parents and grandma and wife and ex girlfriend (my best friend) and my niece and some other people were all there, and we had a BBQ and played "Chez Geek." That is a weird game! :troll:

So yeah, lots of driving. Lots of eating, but not TOO much--146.5
today but I'm certain it'll go down tomorrow. I plan on watching my nutrition this week and running at lunch today, then going to Delana's Yoga 2-3 to get my ass kicked again. Yesterday made me hungry for more abuse ;)

I love a good UFC fight! I yell out too!

I think my interest sparked after taking karate and earning 5 belts and sparring with other people. That sure isn't easy, nope.

You had a fun weekend, good for you!

Wow... quite a weekend!

I don't yell at UFC. Yet. I'm still in the 'Oh, so THAT is how that move is supposed to work' mode. I'm sure if I watch it more regularly I'll start yelling.

I pretty much hate all sports too, especially of the stick & ball variety. My exception is NASCAR. I will yell plenty during a race. There's been times I've been accused of being WAY TOO in to it too. :smilielol5:

There's a lingerie story waiting for you on my diary. :biggrinjester:

Your a smartie though who knows her limits.

Thanks Sam! SOMETIMES! ;)

Those pics from the Fetish Ball are fascinating! I'm not really into fetish (yet, lol) but I think some of the costumes are beautiful, and the makeup and hair is magnificent. It sounds like a fun place to go and be a part of

haha, you might be. :biggrinjester: Yes, it was pretty much all about the hair and costumes.

as Steve said, definitely let us know if the clip airs. hopefully I'll be able to find it online so I can see it too. Have fun if you run into Nick in your asstacular yoga pants. ;)

Shandy, I need to work on finding the documentary or whatever it is, gonna ask my teacher soon. Thanks! Haven't run into Nick yet, but it doesn't mean I never will. Let's just say I sort of got over the initial excitement and now I'd just be surprised if I did.

I'm loving those fetish outfits, especially the ones that look like plastic aliens. Looks like a blast!!

Are you in any of those?

I wasn't! :( Too bad, too--I dunno why I didn't try to get into the pictures!

Janette Brenner...that name is familiar. Was she ever a professional dancer or choreographer?

Hmmm, I found this on her but I wasn't aware of her accomplishments before I read it:

Great workouts yesterday! Go girl!!! WOrk it!

Whoo thanks!!! WORK IT OUT!

Though if you keep going the way you're going I"m sure you'll get there.
Take care Bunny bella. ;)

Thanks, Sandy! :) In Yoga, there is a lot I'm interested in doing....and I seem to be getting slower sometimes, so yes, if I continue on, perhaps I can achieve some asanas that I thought were impossible for me. That'd be cool!

I was watching a Bollywood movie last night and there was all kinds of belly-dancing moves. Not real belly dancing, but all kinds of the moves mixed into the choreography.

Bollywood is totally b-dancing, just a kind of type of it. I need to watch more of those flicks.....

Stacy: Thank you, hope you had a good weekend, will check and see in a bit!

Paul: I'm as non-violent as they come. Mind you I had no siblings to fight with, and all my cousins were younger than me! (I didn't beat on em)

Karl: Haha, Trops will never escape the fact that a lot of strengthening poses are also Yoga.

Trops: Chattaranga Dandasana, foo :p

Dee: Thanks, and yes, it'll be great! :beerchug:

Steve: Oh yeah, Reggae sure is great, there's a style for every mood: roots for relaxing, Dancehall for grooving, and Dub for trippin' out :willy_nilly:

Damn, Miss JB, I didn't know you got 5 belts in Karate!!! Nice!!! Must have been quite an experience.

Phoenyx: Looking forward to your lingerie story! :D

Karate was such an amazing experience. I want to go back and earn all the way up to black belt. It's such a boost of confidence to know you can defend yourself. You walk a little taller, and are definitely more aware of your surroundings. I still find myself getting into position when some creepy person gets to close to me. Ready to attack if needed. I look so innocent, no one would ever suspect me knowing some moves. lol

Totally!

With just my knowledge of moves, and my perceived strength and reflexes, at times when I suspect I could have a face-off with a male up to no good, I sort of get the "he's fuckin' with the WRONG BITCH" mentality. "Walking a little taller" all the way! Actually, my stance and attitude could mean the difference between an incident and me walking away.

Bad guys prey on the weak. I have never been preyed on. This gets me to thinking....but yeah I should probably take up a real discipline of martial arts.....next year! :p

I've been wanting to start up Jiu-Jitsu. They offer it at my gym, but due to my hours I can't get in... I'm keeping an eye on their schedule hoping that maybe they'll do a later class. I'd be all over that like stink on a monkey. As with you, perhaps next year.

I was at a birthday party Saturday and missed the UFC fight. I really wanted to see Silva's fight (the Brazilian fellow). The dude is a goddamn machine.

I saw that UFC fight on Saturday. I thought it was kind of lame too. I can't wait to see Coture and Lesner go at it in November.
