NYE 2009! Ha!

Peezey has axed me what I wanted to do for New Year's Eve. I told him I wanted very badly to go to the 1015 Folsom Club in the Tenderloin for the Revolution party that goes on from 9pm until 9am, with 35 DJs and mimosas at 6am! All the Santa Cruz freaks are going to be there and a few DJs I know are spinning there :D BUT, I said, I can't afford it :( Peezey said, but in his own words "fuck what it costs, I'm the boss" and paid for it for both of us (tickets are $55!) and also a hotel room  I definitely showed him my gratitude last night, although he was bent on pleasing ME for some reason--he continually tells me I'm The Bomb and expresses how grateful he is that I'm dating him :beating: Awwwwww! DAMN he's so much more fun than my ex boyfriends! How awesome that I got exactly what I wanted: a bubble-butt boy who is a Down Ass Beezey and comes out and parties with me, spoils me, and treats me like solid gold with no shady, counter motives! WOW, am I lucky?!?! And HE thinks HE is the lucky one! :eek2:

Here is a synopsis and the flier for the fucking RAD show I'm going to experience!!!

New Years Eve is approaching fast, and tickets to what is sure to be one of the best parties on the planet are going fast.

Headlining this New Years Revolution is none other than world renowned GRAMMY NOMINEE for BEST RECORD of the year DIPLO!! (DIPLO is the co-writer and producer for MIA's Paper Planes)

Aside from being blasted on speakers all over the world, Paper Planes went platinum, will be at 2 million Digital Singles domestically in 2 weeks and reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 for over 6 weeks. Diplo has also been nominated for Best DJ of the Year and Best album of the Year for his latest mixtape DIPLOxSANTOGOLD in Urb Magazine.

This caps an incredibly successful and ambitious 2008 run for Diplo. He brought his high octane DJ sets to nearly every continent, was named checked on The Guardian’s Top 10 Producers of 2008 and NME’s Top 50 Artists of the Year. Production credits for the year include remixes for Radiohead, John Legend, Feist, Spoon, Hot Chip and Santogold. This sounds like a considerable amount of work but the Mad Decent founder also had time to raise over 40K for his music non-profit Heaps Decent, Co-headlined with Justice on their world tour and sell out shows across the nation on the highly successful Mad Decent Tour. Expect Diplo to spend even less time in the devil’s workshop in 2009.

“Mashup master and producer extraordinaire Diplo lights up a party as if molotov cocktails course through his veins.” - PITCHFORK

“Diplo…globetrotting DJ, Mad Decent label owner, and champion of bass music big and small.” - XLR8R

Lets just stop there as that is only one of the next level musicians we have planned for the NYE Revolution.

Let's head upstairs for a heavyweight throw down of 4 of the hottest Dubstep DJs and Producers in the world including Plastician, Kromestar, MRK1 and DZ. word is they will all come together for an all star special set in the main room after 4:00am. This late night NYE session will be history in the making, complete with lots of suprises and mad beats all the way till 9AM!! Oh yeah can someone say champagne mimosas at 6am..... Yes

we will be a bit messy. (It's NYE! nuff said.)

Take a journey to the front room and we have Bersas Discos from Argentina taking over the front room along with Paul Devro from Mad Decent and a host of wicked local glitchmeisters. Bersas Discos recently got Top Rankin / Best of 2008 in Fader Check out the recent features in the Guardian and East Bay Express

Flying in for an exclusive appearance is JESSE ROSE - Regarded as house music’s most forward thinking producer of the last years. Along side the likes of Switch & Clause Von Stroke, Jesse is responsible for twisting up the template of house music as we know it today, and giving it teeth again. JESSE will be supported by an all star cast of DJs including KONTROL's Nikola Baytala and Craig Kuna, & Raindances Little John to name a few.

Add in Beats Antique which feature Members of the Yard Dogs for a special lead up to the New Years, you do not want to miss this, Ninja Tunes Lazer bass meister Ghislain Poirier, SF favorites Random Rab, an-ten-nae & Laura, Hookerz & Blow aka Eprom and Mozaic, NYC's Sub Swara, Heyoka and a boatload of the Bay areas finest beat purveyors. The picture becomes clear that this is not a fancy dog and pony show but a serious carnival for music connoisseur's everywhere.

With 12 hours of music, over 35 DJ's spinning throughout 4 distinctive dance floors, on sound systems being specially tuned for this event, a extra special midnight surprise, and peaceful security from some Black Rock Rangers. This New Years Eve REVOLUTION is more than just a EVOLUTION in sound.

For the ultimate experience go with a VIP ticket and receive expedited entry through 103 Harriet Street entrance. A champagne toast. In and Out privileges. Free and private coat check. All for only $20 more.

Hey, Bunny. Sounds like fun. I've been asking for a unicycle for the last three Christmases and still haven't gotten it. I think everyone thinks I'm kidding. I'll probably just buy one.

They're great! Evan looks like he's having a great time on it, and children and adults alike are amazed at him, riding!

What's in Oakland and why are you going there? I'm nosy ... but I always thought Oakland was an area people didn't want to venture into ...

Why I love Oakland
#1: LOTS of my friends live in Oakland
#2: The people are cool
#3: I feel more at home, there, than anywhere in the world
#4: You can get away with a lot of mischief because the cops are too busy
#5: There are tons of Ethiopian restaurants
#6: The city has SOUL--and a rich and diverse history
#7: White people are scared of Oakland, and I like that--I'm a thrill seeker so any element of danger or death intrigues me :)
#8: READ: Oakland, founded in 1852, is the eighth-largest city in the U.S. state of California and the county seat of Alameda County. Oakland is located in Northern California in the San Francisco Bay Area, the sixth most populous metropolitan area in the United States. Based on 2006 statistical data, Oakland is the 44th largest city in the United States. According to the United States Census Bureau, the population was 401,489 in 2007. Oakland is a major West Coast port, and is home to several major corporations including Kaiser Permanente and Clorox, as well as corporate headquarters for nationwide businesses like Dreyer's and Cost Plus World Markets. Oakland is a major hub city for the Bay Area subregion collectively called the East Bay. Rand McNally named Oakland as having the best weather in the United States. According to the 2000 U.S. census, Oakland and Long Beach, California are the most ethnically diverse cities in the United States, with over 150 languages spoken in Oakland. Attractions include Jack London Square, the Oakland Zoo, the Oakland Museum of California, the Chabot Space and Science Center, Lake Merritt, the East Bay Regional Park District ridge line parks and preserves, and Chinatown.
#9: Hip hop! East Oakland, together with West Oakland and North Oakland, California, remains the heart and soul of Greater Northern California's African American community and its hip-hop community. The area has a population of 113,568 and is roughly 54% African-American. The prostitution and drug culture inspired a new sub-genre of hip hop by the late 1980s. Rappers like Too Short incorporated this culture into the music, in sharp contrast to much of the East Coast hip hop of the day. The result was music that had more reality-based lyrics. Too Short was also one of the first rap artists to promote and sell records independently, and is one of the pioneers responsible for the birth of Northern California's independent hip hop scene, inspiring many to pursue success in the music industry without the assistance of a major record company. The sound of the music was different from East Coast hip hop, which is known for its technique of sampling and looping to create a song. Instead, Funk and Blues were infused with synthesizers and drum machines, giving birth to the Bay Area hip hop sound known as Mobb music. Today, mainstream hip-hop continues to lyrically and musically incorporate much of what was pioneered in East Oakland. Much of East Oakland's street slang has also become mainstream; phrases like "hella" (hell of), and "fa sheezy" (for sure) have their origins in Oakland. Another key term is "hyphy", meaning crazy and out of control, often used in conjunction with "going dumb" which generally has to do with dancing. Known as "oaktown" throughout Northern California, and "The East" to Oaklanders, it is now nationally famous for its sideshows, in which cars do various stunts in intersections at night. Fights, as well as car crashes and reckless driving, have claimed many victims at sideshows in Oakland in the recent past.

I really wish I knew some hetero men that were this hot ... but for some reason, they aren't. At least they aren't with me. Every hetero guy I know has major hang-ups, is completely screwed up from a previous relationship as a result of being pussy-whipped by a douche bag and/or bitch and, therefore, ends up being sexually repressed and incapable of expressing himself effectively in the bedroom

HAHA!!!!! :smilielol5:

I hope that Val has a really nice New Year's Eve planned out for herself and this guy Peevey ... do I have that right?

Almost ;) Peezey, and YES WE DO!!!!:cheers2:

If three gay guys can make it work, three bis certainly can!

I am VERY interested in how this all turns out!!! Keep me posted, if not publicly, then privately! ;)

Yeah, we're not big on alcohol. It screws up our blood sugar. (The BF and me are both Type 1 Diabetics.) The new guy isn't a diabetic -- he's just a super fit guy that doesn't drink alcohol :p

Oh you poor dears! Type 1? Eee gads! :(

NICE on the super fit hot guy, though! :beerchug: <----Kombucha

And what is extremely complimentary and right about you and Peezy is that you both think you are the lucky ones:)!

That New Years Eve thing sounds great:)!

I will be ringing my New Year in myself at work, lol...I start at Midnight:)HA!

Sounds like you've had a fun holiday Val! I hope the New Year is a blast and I look forward to the details! Have a great weekend!

Thank you!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited about New Years, did you read my post on that party??? WOW!

Hey Beautiful! Looks like you had a nice holiday at home and are determined with your new goal. If anyone can do it its you, I have total faith. 10lbs by March is doable, lets just hope your body agrees

I guess we both are! I'm glad the feeling is mutual :D

HA, im not emotional either...

And as far as New Years it is just another day.I dont typically do anything anyway and I worked last New Years as well.I get paid well and can take it off as a day off down the road so all is good hear. I spend it with my kids typically:)

Wow! Sounds like you had a blast this past weekend and are going to have a great time over New Years! You'll have Peezey to ring in the New Year with, which is so great for you. You totally deserve it :)

Trying to get my ass back on track today, Monday Monday... Instead of starting on New Years Day like everyone else does, I figure I'd start a little early and feel better about things ;) I swear I've had more chocolate in the past week than I have in a long time... I'm over it though. Time to reel everything in and get down to business.

-Sam

Val, that NYE party sounds like THE BOMB!!!!! I wish I could be there with you and your Peezey guy (I think I got it right this time :D)!

I'll be partying with you in snowy Calgary :)

And thanks for all the info about Oakland. I was apparently completely misinformed. That's what I get for believing some dumbass who thought SanFran was so "metro" and Oakland wasn't. I think I'll bitch slap him for saying that to me :D Albeit 5 years later ... oh well. It's the thought that counts :p

And I will update everybody on the threesome thing. I just have to start my own thread so I don't keep hijacking your thread ... although I've got to say, your thread is AWESOME!!!

I just love it here :)

Hey Girlie, poppin' in to see how you are and it looks like you're doing AMAZING! Glad to hear you're having such a fantastic time! :hurray: Can't wait to hear how your New Year celebration went!

You'll have Peezey to ring in the New Year with, which is so great for you. You totally deserve it :)

Oh thank you :hug2: Hey--I'm so stoked to have Peezey in my life, and also I'm happy to have him to kiss at midnight, and ALSO he bought us tickets for the VIP--YAY! Champagne toast, coat check, in-n-out privileges, and private entry sound dope, dope, dope and doper to me! Hey yo and ALSO V-DAY!! :beating: I already had back up plans for Valentine's day, LOL!!!

I love NYE. My mom watches the kids every year and we go out. Each year for the last 10 we have been getting together with the same friends. (one exception where we went out just the two of us) It's nice to be so connected with each other, and to see each of us grow as people. It really is a good time, but to spend it with the people that make your life just that much better, that's what makes "just another day" into something more. Here's to hoping that your night is something more then just another night out. :cheers2:
