Crystal's Diary (Atkins Diet)

Coming back looking delicious. ~ Crystal's Diary

So I went on this Atkins diet last year and found it effective.
Lost 8 kilos in 2 months, but hardly exercised.

Today I started this diet again, and the first few days is hard, because you have to get used to the body system change over, but it's worth it in the end.

So I'm hoping to lose alot more this time, because I'll be doing exercise everyday.

I guess this thread is basically just me typing up what I've ate for the day, and the total amount of carbs so I can keep track.

Please feel free to comment on this diet if you've tried it, or comments in general.

Thanks =)

Hello and GL with the ADKINS PLAN,I must admit I tried it and lasted only a little over 24 hours lol BUT I manged to lose 2 lbs that day.The thing was I so wanted carbs and the good carbs like fruits healthy made sandwhiches, weightwatchers meals and deserts ect so I quit it do to feeling deprived of the good foods. But I hear good things about the plan if you can stick to it.I wish ya luck and keep us informed,Tammy:cheers2:

Lol yeah it's a hard diet to stick by! =(
I already feel like giving up, cause I'm just on dinner now.
But take it a day at a time I guess, and nothing think about tomorrow.

Well yeah I'm Crystal, 19 years old from Australia.
I've been oveweight my whole life.
Never known was it feels like to be thin.
I'm just sick of being a large.
Like there is nothing wrong with it, but I'm just not happy with myself.

I've put on too much weight this year.
The last time I checked I weighed 111kg, but I think i've put on like another 3-4 kgs.

My first goal is to get to 100kg by the end of the year.
And then to be like 60-70kg by june next year.

I feel like I'm going to fail.

I only lasted 4 mo. with 10 lbs. lost.. lol

My family got sick of that way of eating and so did I..

*TeeHee*

It works for a lot of ppl though so ~Best Wishes!~

:)

This is life without carbs, you can do it! The science behind the diet is effective so you can't fail if you follow the plan - which makes it easier than some plans IMO.

Exercise is good, even in little doses. Every little thing you do will make a difference.

Think of Chinese water torture, even little things can have a big impact.

Being thin is like having a different life, don't be afraid to be happy with yourself.

Good luck with Atkins. I've done it in the past, and I can never stay on it for more than a month. This time, I've been on my most successful diet ever by not denying myself any kind of food. This works well for me, b/c whenever I tell myself I can't eat something, it just makes me want it even more. I just make sure I stay within my calorie range. I've been at this since mid-December 2006, and am happy with the results.

But each person is different, and you have to do what works best for you. :)

What part of Australia are you from? My H is from Melbourne.

Hi Do you have the book?

In induction, 12-15 net carbs are supposed to come from vegetables, make sure you get those vegies in! If you go to the atkins official site, they have SO MANY resources there.

I feel so ashmed! =(
I weighed myself today.
117 kg! I'VE NEVER BEEN THAT BIG IN MY LIFE.
I feel so sick at thinking I weight that much.
The last time I weighed myself I was 110.. and that was like 5 months ago.
I walked home from school today which was like a 50 minute walk.
I'm so exhausted from it, but will do some more exercise later.
I really need to stick to this.

And yeah I'm gonna look on the Atkins site for some recipes.. need some new ideas on what to eat lol

There are also these 'courses' you can do on the site, and they are REALLY helpful! They explain everything you need to know.

Dont get too down on yourself, remember that your changing your lifestyle now and your going to lose that weight! Good luck with everything.

I'm glad it's getting easier for you! It's really hard to concentrate sometimes when you're craving something. For me the best thing to do is just occupy my mind with something or exercise. You're doing great, just keep sticking with it. :)

Hi Crystal!

Thanks for posting a comment to my before and current pics!

I tried the adkins diet a few years ago and I know it takes a week or so for your body to really get used to what you're trying to do for it. I got such bad migraines from cutting out carbs and sugar I just couldn't stick to it. :ack2: As long as you're getting in your needed calories, vitamins, and minerals go for it! We're all here to support you!

Thanks!

So today is day 4.
I feel good for getting to day 4!
