I would like to gain some weight (10 lbs would be good), but it seems like it's impossible for me. I tried to eat alot, but since i play basketball alot, i think i lose alot of calories due to it. I do lift weights (3-4 times a week). If i take creatine, lift weight and still play basketball, do you think i will be able to gain 10 lbs? and how long will it usually take for me to gain 10lbs? also, what are the bad side effects of creatine that you have notice?
 
u dont need creatine. just up your food intake, especially in protein.
 
the typical loading phase with creatine of 5 grams 4-5 times a day usually results in a gain of about 3-5lbs but this is water weight and can be quickly lost.

like wolverine posted, upping your food intake over time would be a better and more result producing option
 
what if i used creatine for about 3 months and gained 10 pounds, then i stopped using creatine period. will i lose the weight and muscle that i gained over that period of time? and what is the "loading phase", what does it mean? I seen it alot while researching creatine. Why would i need to take 20grams of creatine in the beginning for 4-5days?
 
You would lose about 3-5 lbs. of water weight when you stopped creatine. But, you will not lose ANY of the muscle gained during your creatine use. And, you won't lose any strength that you picked up during this time also.

You don't need to load. You will get the same results without loading, it will just take about 2 or 3 times longer (i.e. 2 to 3 weeks instead of 1 week).

thats only true for those who dont know how to train and eat properly. creatine is energy production so you will notice a difference in that. but those who know how to train, the notice will be very slight ;)
