Forget deserving, you want to play the team you are most confident you will beat........USC!
We scored 39 points in the shoe where you were only giving up 10 pts a game, I would rather play USC too.
P.S. besides wouldn't you like to see another great game, seeing that your team is going to blow next year?
Our team will far from blow next year. Our defense is coming back and offensively we will lose Smith, possibly Ginn and a couple lineman. We will be fine.
USC being a team we can beat isn't an issue. We already proved we could beat UM again. Yea, you put up 39 in the Shoe, but we also put up 500+ yards against your defense that was supposed to be the best, so it goes both ways.
I just feel UM had their shot and they blew it. There shouldn't be any second chances.
If we do end up playing them again, then so be it, we will repeat our performance. There isn't a team in the country that can beat us right now. There isn't a team in the country, beside OSU that can beat UM.

Thats makes us no.2 and you shouldn't feel so confident with your 3 point win on a neutral field, if nothing else it would be even better, and thats the idea behind the championship, #1 vs #2 how many times have we seen a pro team leat a team in the playoffs that they lost to in the regular season?

Like I said, if we play you again then so be it. We had a week to prepare and 3 turnovers and still came out with a win. Give Tressel 7 weeks to prepare, we will beat them by 2-3 touchdowns. Lloyd Cooper just cannot beat Tressel, he gets out coached every time.

Who is Lloyd Cooper? And don't think that Tressel wasn't preparing for us all season because we are the only good team that you had on your schedule, Texas is a joke w/o Vince young, kinda the way Ohio State is going to be a joke w/o Troy Smith!
Lloyd carr is the new John Cooper of the rivalry. Oh I am sure he was preparing for them from week 1, but he has 7 weeks where UM will be their only focus if they are lucky enough to make it.
We played the same type of schedule UM did with the exception of a sorry ass ND, who played 1 good team this year and lost. Just like UM, had one good team on their schedule and they got beat.
Tressel beat UM in the past without Smith (twice) and there is no doubt in my mind he will do it again without him.
Yea, he lost 1, no big deal, a blind squirel finds a nut every now and again. They will be just fine next year. If they are in a down year, I know the last game of the season will provide 1 win anyway.

To win the national championship you must beat the 2nd best team in the country on neutral ground, if you don't play Michigan away from home then as far as I am concerned you will be given the trophy by some computers. If you had beaten us at home, even in a clso game then sure, no argument can be made.
But thats not the case, you squeaked by at home in a game where you gave op 4 times the amount of points that you averaged all year, turned the ball over several times, and Troy Smith was unable to run the ball, you were challenged at home and I think that you realize that if you had to play us again on neutral ground your confidence wouldn't be so high. Its quite clear that everyone in Ohio wants to play USC, but why, because they are more confident in beating them than they are against Michigan.

Well if USC loses and UM remains #2, then I have no problems palying them again. I am very confident that we will have the same outcome. Yes they put up some points against our defense, a few of them were gift wrapped for them, but they still put up a lot of points. Remember, that we put up over 500 yards against the #1 defense in the nation when it came to yardage given up. Tomorrow's game will tell the tale of who we play.
In the mean time, we will sit back and wait, get healthy and see who our next victim is. The ONLY thing that worries me about that game is the curse of the Heisman winners in bowl games.
