Countdown to OSU vs. Michigan Rematch

That just goes to show that they didn't deserve the #2 spot in the first place, at least they were exposed before the championship. I am of course biased but I can't see how Floridae should pass us. They have a chance tonight to show they deserve it but I don't think they are good enough.

No mater what, someone is going to get screwed, at least if Florida does get the bid, we will play USC.

Bring on the playoff!

I still think that spot has to go to Michigan. Michigan plays the #1 team in the nation tough and Florida loses to Auburn early in the season. All the OSU/Michigan crap aside. U of M deserves to be in that game IMO, and if they're not, thats just another inherent flaw in the BCS system..

Like someone else said earlier, bring on the playoff!

ESPN has a poll on this listing several questions including:

1) Which offense would give Ohio State more trouble?

Michigan 60%
Florida 40%

2) Which defense would give Ohio State more trouble?

Michigan 61%
Florida 39%

3) Which team is playing better lately?

Michigan 55%
Florida 45%

4) What team should play for the championship?
Florida 52%
Michigan 48%

That just goes to show how stupid this all is. Should the championship be played between the best two teams in the country or the best team in the country and the best team that they haven't played? Peolpe clearly think that Michigan would give a better game but would vote Florida in.

I say ask yourself 2 questions,

1) If Michigan played Florida yesterday, who would have won?
2) If you had to put money on the national championship on Mich/Fla who would you bet on?

I got a bad feeling about this, but at least now we will play USC if we don't get in.

Just remember Florida played at home yesterday and recieved 4 turnovers, and that they narrowly escaped from 3 games this year. The last team that you saw always looks best, every teams season should end on the same weekend.

Agreed, and if Michigan gets screwed, then thats how its going to happen.

Funny how the BCS was supposed to quell all the controversy around the NCAA football national championship... yea right.

There you go; the most exciting bowl game will probably be Wake Forest and Louisville.

I hope you blow them out and we blow USC out so that the voters see what a letdown the bowls are this year.

BCS=Big Crock Sh**

It hurts the Big 10 to finish so much earlier than all of the other conferences. The only thing I can think of is they looked at strength of schedule and conference winner. Plus I think they felt if there was a rematch and UM did win, they would have to give co-national champs.

I do know they need a playoff system, but because of the $$$$$ and the greed of the universities it will never happen.

The biggest travesty of the whole thing is ND getting a BCS bid. They played nobody all year and the good teams they did play they got spanked. I hope they get smoked again this year like they did last year. That is a crock of BS.

Its really hard to sit down at the end of the season and decide who the top two teams were you have to take several things into account:

overall record
strength of schedule
defensive stats
offensive stats
coach
how badly they beat div-IIA opponents

Gosh, its pretty tough to tell which team should get to play for the national championship, heck I don't know how to figure it out. Oh.......wait........what if they played eachother.........yeah........... sometime in the 5-6 friggen weeks that they were waiting for the bowl game to see who is better?

Yeah, 11-1 Wisconsin gets left out but 10-2 Notre Dame who lost badly to USC and Michigan, had a miricle win against Mich St, and Georgia Tech, squeezed by a couple of other teams, oh yeah they are great.

I'm done complaining, at least we get to play USC, I was really disapointed after USC passed us becasue I thought we were going to play Florida and I knew that they sucked. . I am so sick of hearing how good the SEC is. Do they have 3 top 5 teams at the end of the year? Iowa and Penn State were letdowns this year but not rollovers. Michigan State, although they always collapse, can beat anybody when they are playing their best.

I just think that we should all be excited about the championship game, well outside of Ohio and Floride, people aren't marking the date on their calanders like last year with USC and Texas, this is not going to be a classic, just a formailty.

On the other hand, its going to be great to beat USC, I hate them.

I hate anybody that uses their middle name all the time.

Bowls = Lots of money therefore they will never agree on a playoff system and it is a shame. Yhe only freaking sport that doesn't have one of some sort.

The Big 10 is the most under rated conference in the NCAA, yet all they do is produce year in and year out. Screw the SEC and the Big 12, they can't hang with the big boys of the Big 10. It is a damn shame for Wisconsin. ND gets everything handed to them, yet they will go and get blown out by LSU and will restart the cycle next season.

There is only 3 bowls I am looking forward to watching. OSU-FLA of course, UM-USC and Boise St. and OU. I hope Boise St. blows them out...LOL :D

If they took the top 8 teams and had a 3 week, 7 game Bowl schedule, they would make more than the 5 bowl system currently in place. I am in engineerig so i don't know that much about business but I think that the NCAA basketball tourney generates a few bucks.

I count 6 great games there just as good as any of the current bowls. Tell me people wouldn't watch! They could make more money and not have any complaints. There would never again be a split title.

Thats what I meant.

Although it must hurt more to lose the championship when favored.

Can't wait until next year, we should start out near the top this time.

It only hurts because they were flat and didn't play their game. Florida came ready and took OSU behind the woodshed. OSU was out coached and out played, florida wanted it more, simple as that. The trend continues with the underdog in the title game and the Heisman jinx.

UM will prolly be ranked #2 next year going into the season. OSU will be just outside the top 5. Which is fine, less pressure. We lose some key offensive players, but I am not worried. As long as UM has Carr, that is at least 1 win on our schedule.

Oh I have a feeling that next year is going to be sweet revenge!!!!!!!!!
