Countdown to Competition

From the short bit i looked at, that is olympic weight lifting, which is the snatch and the clean and jerk, I am doing powerlifting wich is deadlift, squat and bench press.

I only have access to dial up internet so i don't look at many movies online. hell I have trouble with mobile (cell) phone reception, ie there is none most of the time unless i drive into town.

This morning i have got to get back into my normal routine because the kids are back at school after the winter school holidays.

Have to take the kids to school before i can hit the gym for an upper body workout.

i will take a few new pics during the week if i have time.
 
I had a good session at the gym this morning, after the weekend break i found it easy to complete my 3 sets of 10 of my 2 inch bench presses so time to ut the weight up.
 
Just finished RPM, i was sweating more than usual, I think i am beginning to push myself more, felt a bit light headed on the drive home.

Squat day at the gym in the morning then soccer training in the afternoon but may try for a second gym session before soccer.

I had a good session at the gym this morning after a breakfast of boiled eggs

Warmup : 5 minutes bike

Squat:

1 X 10 @ 60 kg (warmup) (132 lb)
1 X 10 @ 90 kg (198.4 lb)
2 X 6 @ 100 kg (220.4 lb)

Stiff leg deadlifts 4 X 10 @ 60 kg (132 lb)

DB Shrugs 3 X 10 @ 37.5 kg (82.6 lb)

Leg Press

8 sets working up to the final set of 10 @ 285 kg (628 lb)
 
It's awesome to see you working so hard, it makes me want to go to the gym. You're doing a fabulous job Trusylver, but don't ya ever just feel exhausted?

I can't tell you how much reading your journal has positively affected my own work-outs! I practiced last week, but today was the first day the two-inch press was fully incorported into my routine...brutal I tell ya...I loved it!:)

I even wrote your squat/dead/press weights down in my training log for inspiration...not that I have any hopes of ever acheiving them (I don't think I have the genetics)...but to give me a little extra motivation to keep working a little harder when I want to slack, to keep digging a little deeper when I think "I can't".
 
yep, i am usually feeling worn out by the end of friday and my body realy needs the two day of rest from serious physical activity, but I see my best gains after that rest.

I had a good talk with my coach today about changes to my training, It looks like it is going to be a SUPER HARD change to my squat day with less reps and increased weight to bring me up to a new PB tomorrow

tomorrows squats should be

1 X 10 @ 60 kg for warmup
1 X 8 @ 80 kg
1 X 4 @ 100 kg
1 X 4 @ 110 kg
115 Kg (253.5 lb) X 1

I also have to start writing down all of my food so i can get my diet right.

Today I increased my training weight for the bench press, the final set of the 2 inch bench press made my eyes water but it felt good afterwards.
 
ok, skimming your journal the biggest thing that popped out at me is .....

"snatch" "and jerk" hehe my head is in the gutter.

I need to try again with a clean filter and I hope to have something better to add. =)

Hey let me echo what has been said about your workouts being an inspiration. Tomorrow I need to work on getting into a good gym.

One more thing i should note down here, after talking to my coach (the gym owner) she is going to workout a way of modifying the payment plan for the personal trainers course so i can make smaller payments over a longer period of time so i can start getting my PT qualifications YAY
 
That would be awesome for them to do that for you. I hope you get those PT qualifications!

You're weights are amazing. I wont even write them down... next to mine, I'd spend my whole workout just crying ;). I'm up to a whoppin' 60-65 lbs on my bench press :). (Not sure about my bar's weight).
 
that is a good bench :) , If the bar you are using is an olympic bar it will weigh 20 kg (44lb).

went into town to buy some more fresh veg for tonight, left the supermarket without buying any bad stuff BUT on the way out I could not resist when passing the doughnut shop and got and ate 6 cinnamon doughnuts. It has been about 3-4 weeks since i last ate doughnuts but why did i need to eat six of the little suckers. :eek:

Because you are human and you had an urge and followed through with it - we all do it at some time or another with something - with how you work out - I wouldnt worry too much abt it :):):)

I agree entirely. You push yourself hard every day, you deserve some sugar every once in a while.

You know that's the exact reason I had to banish sugar altogether...like some people can eat a single doughnut, and go "aahh, that hit the spot" (I hate those people:) ) and move on?...with me it's one followed by two followed by....
 
Thanks for the suport ladies, This morning my weight was down a little more.

I ate a boiled egg in a rush for breakfast before rushing the kids to school then hitting the RPM class which was fun, I was in the naughty corner with the other regulars while during the sprint section our instructor told us to imagine we were sprinting along a beach towards a naked surf lifeguard after not having had sex for 3 months :rotflmao:

After class

1 Protein bar
2 LCM bars

lunch will be skinless chicken with tomato, onion, parsley, chives.
 
Lunch looks good. I'd just skip the onions :). Which reminds me to cook up some chicken... I hate cooking for lunch and would rather have it cold than have to cook.

I think I like your instructor. I've got to ask, how long has it been since your instructor got any? Maybe he (or she) was hoping for offers after class ;).

My daughter bought me a doughnut for breakfast. I was actually really looking forward to my breakfast and then I had a doughnut instead. Ah, some days shit happens I guess. Doughnut was good of course, just wasn't planned. I like having a plan and just get frustrated when my plan fails. Which happens offen, so I guess I'm frustrated often :eek:.

lol just because your married it never stops you from looking at a nice piece of man flesh ;) , just no touching

michelle is great, almost no subject is off limit in class if you have enough energy left to reply to her comments. I have never seen her low on energy but watch out in class if she has had a coffee or an energy drink just before class :eek:
