Happy New Year Alta!! As always it's great to see you around! Make sure your getting lots of water to drown that cold.
Looking forward to a great 2011 with you!

Props to you for that clean eating! It takes a lot of discipline to do that... I'm not quite sure I could stay strong! GO ALTA!!!!!!! :hurray:

Lisa: :jump: I am glad to be back on board with you!! Excuse my laziness the past year. I have no idea what happened to me. All I know, is that I am back!!! This year, I am smashing with the Biggest Losers!

Sarah: Thanks!! I notice when I do raw juices, my energy level goes up and I feel GOOD about myself and that makes me want to work out! I'm in it to win it this time around! :)

Christen: Day 3!!! Work for it son!!! ;)!! You are inspiring me!!

So yesterday went really well, other than the fact that I didn't get a chance to send the emails. Since I conquered almost everything else on my to do list yesterday, I should be able to get that done tonight. The laundry is still pending. Cleaning takes FOREVER!!

But, after I did that, I took my ass to the park, though I negotiated with myself the ENTIRE WAY there, and even 1.5 miles into my run... "Alta, there is still time, turn around. Go back to the car. Don't get out of the car. It's cold. You are sick. Tomorrow. You are sore as hell. Make it 3 miles instead of 4.5".....FAKKKKK :nopity: ...But I said NO! I'm running and I'm only going further. And I did. No excuses.

This is now a PRIORITY in my life. So many times I have been there, but now I just want to stick to it. All of my self hyposis recordings lately have been on DISCIPLINE, CONSISTENCY, the SLIGHT EDGE DAILY, JUST DO IT!...and I must say....they are WORKING!!!

I went to bed at 10:30pm and YEA right did I get rest, my throat was killllllling me :banghead: and I didn't get to sleep until 2:45 am tossing and turning. I woke up coughing again, at 5:45 am, looked at the clock. Got scarred that it was dark outside, yet decided to GET MY ASS TO THE GYM!!! 40 mins in the sauna were heaven!! I did self hypnosis recordings in there as well, and exercise moves in there. I'm sure some ladies must trip out that I do exercise in there since most are just sitting and naked. LOL!! I just close my eyes and MOVE MY ASS! Then I did 10 mins on the treadmill/eliptical and left.

Plan of attack today: Go to the auction with my friend. Come home, (since the clinic is closed all week until Monday I can't see clients :( ) and email all my past clients as well as make cards for them, and then p90x starts!!!

As for food, I'm pretty full right now. The plan is lots of water. Raw cashew snacks, and then Raw juice for lunch, and probably raw juice and soup for dinner. Sticking to it! :) Have a great day people!

Bkfst: Chicken soup - 1 bowl and half.

Snack: 16.oz water 1 apple, Raw Cashews

Lunch: 1 Shrimp Coctail, 1 jaiva tostada (eh, not the best cause I ate the tostada + 5 saltine crackers)

Snack: Raw Cashews

--Workout-- p90x 1 hour + 60 situps -22 oz. water

Dinner: 1 Raw juice - 3 broccoli heads, 8 strawberries, 2 celery sticks, 1 whole cucumber, 1 carrot
1 bowl of remaining chicken soup- no chicken left in it- just broth with little particles of brown rice in it.

Snack: 1 light- low salt- Rice cake w/ 1 tsp of peanut butter
1/2 cup of Split Pea soup
16 oz. of water

My pursuit of happiness lies within me! The heart of a Champion, the mind of a warrior, the Spirit of a Monk, and the Curiosity of a child, and the Body of a machine!!"

Yay! Day 3 :) We are doing it this time.. no more excuses for why we can't.. we are the most important and everything else can WAIT!!!!!!!!

I am so proud of you yesterday having the motivation to stick to that run.. I know exactly what you mean talking yourself out of a mile or two saying it will be ok.. I do the same thing! I literally had to DRAG myself to the gym the first day.. I did not want to go I kept procrastinating but after i went it reminded me how good it feels and i got that feeling back that I had when i was 20 lbs lighter and it felt so GOOD! Last night after having a heated talk with my mom my blood was literally BOILING!!!!! My gym class was about to start 30 min later and I just felt like laying in bed crying but I convinced myself that it wasnt going to help and instead to workout to take my mind of it..BEST IDEA.. it totally put my mind at ease and helped me to forget about the whole situation.

CASHEWS!! Did I tell you the story about them? When I went to Ireland last month I ate a few on the plane and found out I am allergic. I swelled up and my face, throat, mouth were itching, I got hives, my stomach swelled sooo bad and I was nauceous, my tounge was big and I was sweating...my throat also swelled and it was hard to breathe so I was freaking out..so scary on a plane! I had never had an allergic reaction so I was not aware that they carry eppie pens or whatever they are called on the plane so i dint tell anyone!! I just kept drinkking mimosas in my seat and passed out... 2 hours later i woke up fine but still itchy! haha:nopity:

Keep working girl! We are doing this! I have set my goal for April 1st with mini goals in between.. we need to chat so we can get our plan down!! I don't want to hog up your diary! :)

Talk soon!

Awesome work getting to the gym Atla!! Those calories you burned thank you!
I can't imagine drinking radish juice mixed with other juices - yuk! I like radishes in salad though so maybe it would work.
I'm so jealous about P90x - I asked my sisters to copy it for me but they forgot again. It's too expensive to buy it still but the price is coming down.
Jackie lost 15 pounds in a month on the isogenix cleanse. I would love to give it a shot but it's too expensive. She is going to start working out more now to maintain it. Her husband lost 20 and Tan lost 12.
Great work on the run too - I probably would have turned around. I have a bad habit of talking myself out of things. My resolution is to be more engaged so I'm slowly working on it!!
So excited to work hard with you and hopefully some of your energy will rub off along the way!

Christen: Gurrrrrrrrrrlll....You are not hogging up my diary, and the fact that you are here PUSHING my ass after all these years trying to do this shit together is MOTIVATING ME!! I wanted to ask you to come back a while ago, but it's so much harder to want something for someone else, ya know? NOW, YOU WANT IT! & I'm right behind you!! ..... I think you are SO right in justifying to yourself "that laying there will not make it better"...That is THE TRUTH! As far as the cashews..that's CRAZY! :eek: What's even crazier is that I KNOW exactly what you mean!!! I found out while I was walking in Italy on a tour hopping from museum to museum that I was allergic to Macadamium Nuts. I was eating a Gelato Ice Cream ( Lol, there I go with the sweets :blush5: lol) ...and the next thing you know, I was walking to the front of the museum, and my lip swelled, I got SO dizzy, and I started seeing fuzzy and had to sit my ass down on the stairs coming up the place! I was scarred because I literally took a couple bites and WHAM, I looked like ROCKY and felt like him too!! :eek: Another thing we have in common! At least we know how to poison each other!!! :smilielol5: Or hallucinate and get really fucked up!!! hahahah!! You had me Dying of laughter when you said that instead you just drank MIMOSAS til you passed out!!!Haha!! So hard... I had a cough attack!! :/

Lisa: You are right about the radishes! The drink was SO SPICY my eyes almost started to tear!! You heard the saying, "Pain is beauty?..well Radishes are BOOTY"! LOL!! I had to drink it FAST with a little PRAYER to wash it down!! hahah!! I'm hoping they have some amazing benefits! Actually, turns out they are a great source of Vitamin C and have cancer protective properties and help gull bladder, liver, and digestion. All in all, worth it. LOL! You should definitely get the p90x when she burns it for you! I bought the burned version for $20 but a great buy! The youtube searches for before and afters motivate the hell out of me!! 90 days!... and I'm glad to hear that even with your determination that I'm not the only one who bargains to herself. It was weird in respect to while I was running because usually it just happens for me BEFORE I even get in the car, or as I park the car before the run. :cheers2: Cheers for us for all the times we DO get out of the car,...or even make it to the car for that matter, especially in winter! :D! Lisa, I'm READY girl to do this!!! I can't believe that at one point we were merely pounds away from each other. SOOOOON I tell you!! I will catch up to you!!! :reddevil:!!! I want to smash right behind your ass!!! ;)! :jump: -oh yes! That's great for your sisters to have lost all that weight. I can't say I'm shocked though, because I have smashed 14 pounds in 2 weeks before doing the FAT SMASH by Dr. Ian Smith from Celebrity Fit Club. That man is amazing! If after a couple weeks doing the raw juices I feel like I need a switch he is definitely the route I'm going to. Glad that you are showing your sisters that it can be done without spending a boat load of money.

2011- No Fucking AROUND! :D!

Ahhhhh :jump: You are inpsiring me!!!! :D!Gotta get to moving!

I'm SO NERVOUS!!! :jump:

So every year, my mom cooks this FABULOUS turkey and she cooks it El Salvadorian style (since they lived there for some years-even though she is Spanish from Spain-my dad is from El Salvador though) and I took on the task TODAY to challenge myself and COPY her turkey. I have not ever cooked a turkey so it's VERY intimidating!! I got all the instructions from my Grandma who is a chef, but STILL!! I want the taste to be AMAZING! We are making what we call "Pan con Pavo" which means French roll breads with lettuce tomato and watercress, radishes, and make them like a sandwich. The juice seeps into the bread and it's SO BOMB!!!!

As well, I have all these presents to wrap and I have to go to the market and cook the turkey and IT'S A SURPIRSE for my mom!!! She always tells me "Alta, I'm gonna die and you still won't know how to cook this turkey!" So I decided to SURPRISE her and blow her socks off with my cooking!!! I HOPE!!! :D! REALLY NERVOUS!!! As well, I gotta find time to WHIP out the p90x and WORKOUT!!! IT will be done! Once the turkey is in, then I can relax some! :) Mom, my little brother, my bf, my friend Ivette, her son, and her husband are all coming over for another Chirstmas dinner and presents! I have TONSSSSSSS of gifts for the people I love since we didn't open them at all! I'm really REALLY excited!! I will allow myself ONE ROLL of bread!!! But...I have to work for it, and will JUICE the entire day for it as well!

That's the PLAN of attack for today though!! WISH ME LUCK!!!

~~~~Yesterday: It actually went really well! I did 1 hour of Plyometrics on the p90x which is a MILLION moves in different variations. I almost wanted to stop, but I pushed through it and thought of CHRISTEN busting her ass at the gym at that moment and I pushed through! I'm really competitive and love a friendly competition so IT'S ON!! Besides, when Christen comes down to LA, I will be MUCH thinner.~~~~
Lisa, if you are reading, I met Christen in Vegas like I met you just a few months ago, about 2 years ago!! We have been good friends ever since then!! I love that I've met my forum friends who influence me so much!!
Gonna make it a great day!!! Will take pics of the turkey!! :) :waving:
Good luck with the turkey Alta!! I haven't tried one yet myself! Probably never will now that my hubby knows how to do it, lol. I bet it will be delicious and your mom will be so proud!
That's so cool you meet so many friends from online! I'm ready for the challenge with you girls! Let's kick some butt this year! Weekends are always hard for me so I will be thinking of you whenever I'm tempted to put something in my mouth.
I'm so glad it turned out well!! It's ok that you didn't get your exercise in.. I am sure you were busting butt getting ready for all of that company.. it burns more calories than you think running around doing all of that stuff..it was also Friday so just get back on it! Everyone needs a cheat day.. Today is mine.. started period and super sore so just taking it easy.. Also had a fast food lunch for my cheat so just enjoying my saturday and trying to still stay within my calories..sacrafice! haha no food rest of day to make up for my fast food binge. I might do some crunches later just to meet the challenge but no major workout for me today.. REST!
So proud! Keep working hard :)
Thanks girl! I think you are right about the calories and doing stuff around the house because I was DEAD tired!! I did really well on the food today and yesterday really, except for the french bread roll. But ...eh! Toss it up to GOOD times! ;) Everyone LOVED their gifts and I felt really happy to have done all that for the people I love and care about. Roman and his friend JJ drew me the CUTEST little pictures and I was really happy!! :beating: It's those little moments and those little things that I will be able to treasure for a lifetime. Hey that's interesting food, I see you're getting all the major food groups in!! I read the opening pages of your diary with all the capitalized letters and wanted to see ifyou're still doing that! You sure sound excited, or you were at the start. This forum also really helped me the first time I joined so I am committing to this forum again to help me on the next leg of weight loss. You go girl, look at you 169 pounds!
There I went with the BARGAINING this morning again! :rolleyes: I woke up and since my bf had to go to work early, I reheated him another "pan con pavo" and I really wanted to eat the french roll bread with the turkey but I was solid with the agreement I had made to myself of enjoying only ONE french roll the day before. I was PROUD of that. I literally thought of Christen, and said.."Nah!" I even went on to listen to some self hypnosis recordings to work on my CONSISTENCY because the thought of pressing PLAY on the p90x was starting to drain me.
I then after, took a nap, and decided to take it easy since I had a baby shower to go to at 2pm, yet I really did want to work out BUT I kept telling myself "Oh, what about if I do it later. After the baby shower?" Hmmm... You know what that means.."YEAH RIGHT!" So... I finally decided an hour and a half before the baby shower to GET UP AND PUSH PLAY! I find the hardest part is pushing play. Other than that...it's chill!
So I did!! I did my p90x and was VERY happy and had COMPLETE control at the baby shower! I was actually not even tempted by the food there, because I purposely ate a healthy meal before going. I have been feeling better around food lately. Mainly because I think I have RESOLVED MY MENTALITY to DO THIS!!! I am just in control. I feel good and I want to look good from inside out! :) The baby shower was fun and everyone LOVED the DIAPER cake I made out of 120 diapers! It was a three layer cake made and the most CREATIVE gift there! :beating: I must say, I am pretty damn creative and artsy! I also make a TON of jewlery now, and everyone that I give some too, they LOVE!!
