I decided to get back to the grind of training but for real this time!!!!!!

Im with ya friend! Lets get goin again. I cant believe that I have been at 58-59 lbs lost for 2 months plus now and I have not kicked my butt over the 60 lb mark....It is time! I rode my bike 10 miles this morning and tonight.....Drum roll....I start running (or maybe it should be called chugging or shuffling but to me it will be running) I have a new goal to run a mile with out stopping by July! (pretty sad I know but remember back in Oct I couldnt even run to the refridgerator)

I RAN 14 miles BIOTCHESSSSS!!!!

HI guys!!! You have no idea how FREAKIN HAPPY it makes me to see that you guys CHECK UP ON ME!! SO SPECIAL!!! !

I RAN 14 MILESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.....I DID IT!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

So this past Saturday was the most AMAZING time of my life!!!! I would say that this past Saturday was the BIGGEST MILESTONE IN MY LIFE!!!.....!!!

....Elena and I overslept in the morning on Saturday, but that didn't STOP US one bit....we mapped the course out, and met at the meeting point, which is off Mullholland where there is a HUGE mountain, with the most amazing views ever...but HUGE hills!!!......WE DID IT THOUGH.....14 miles!!!!!! ....Because of the hills, it took us 3 hrs, and 30 mins.!!!....

It was literally AMAZING...the hills were tough of course, :ack2: because 9 of the miles, were pure hill...and the rest was 5 miles down,...but definitely not in that order....!!!

...It was definitely intimidating because the most I had ever ran was 9 miles,...and on FLAT!!!.....I CAN NOT BELEIVE THAT I DID SO MANY MILES!!! It was AMAZING to finish!!!!.....My ankles were really really feeling it the last 2 miles, because it was hills the whole way back 9 miles, and the first 5 were mainly down...so it was fun to begin and a doozie to come back!!! At points the hill seemed so steep or it was that my legs were so tired, that it felt that I could walk faster, but NO...we kept going!!! :driving:

The views were Impeccible and so HIGH in elevation.........pure BEAUTY!!!

When we finished we were sore, my toes hurt, my ankles, my thighs, and my calves cause of the hills.....BUT WE DID IT and it was the most AMAZING thing I have ever EVER done!!! Before I set out on the run though, I stopped at Big 5 and bought that Anti Chafing Stick and put it on the bottom of my feet cause they felt irritated even before I started walking ...so better Safe then sorry right...and I slapped that stuff on the bottom of the insides of my feet and put about 6 band aids on each foot...and I WAS GOOD TO GO...my feet had a GREAT SMOOTH RIDE the WHOLE WAY!! !:Angel_anim:

...What was crazy was that when we were done, I was fine...and I was happy right...but as we drove away....I was IN SHOCK...and I couldn't help the tears coming out...A LOT!!!! ....I have worked so hard to get to this point, and I have given up on myself so many times this past year, yet HERE I AM!!!: ...I didn't ever FULLY quit, just momentary pauses....and that's what made me emotional....

..1) I was SUPER SUPER grateful to have finished!!!....14 miles on HILLS!

2) I NEVER thought I could do it....for some reason...

3) I used to cry like a baby my whole life growing up when I had to run, cause I hated it...and here I am...LOVING IT...pushing MYSELF to do it!!!

4) Because GOD HAS HEALED ME and I am here to be grateful for it...and to be doing this!!

5) And because I always looked at everyone around me on the forums and I felt like EVERYONE can just put their mind to something and DO IT...and what about me...!?!!? When am I going to JUST DO IT!!?!!....and NOW the TiME came!!!!!

6) Because I tell myself that the more I run, the more GOD is going to heal my grandmother,....and BECAUSE they are so proud of me.....and they have been my ENTIRE LIFE INSPIRATION towards working out...

7) And because at the end ,...once I was crying...I realized that with this ACCOMPLISHMENT was washing away every bad emotion that I have ever felt about myself....every fat comment....every thing that I NEVER beleived I could do,....just washed away ...and NOW I KNOW...that I am more capable of EVERYTHING that I didn't ever believe possible!!!! I WILL NOT EVER FORGET THIS DAY!!! !!!

...I mean...my GRANDFATHER who is in his 60's...just finished a 150 mile bike RIDE on the craziest mountain on the East Coast to the TOP with my uncle who is late 30's......and in great shape (with other bike riders of course-a race), and HE BEAT MY UNCLE!!! ...they are impressive to no lengths...and it has always meant so much to me to be like them and now SLOWLY I am,....I AM!!!!!!! :D!

...this week...we plan to train, maybe 3 times running 4.5 milers....maybe a little hill, maybe flats not sure....regardless this NEXT SUNDAY I want to be fresh on my legs for the REAL 1/2 Marathon,....but OVERAL.....I AM FEARLESS Towards it now, cause what you do ONCE, you can do it again!!!!.....

...YOU CAN'T STOP ME NOW...YOU CAN't STOP ME NOW!!! :CheeeeeeeeeooooW!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! :coolgleamA:

LIFE IS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BY NEXT YEAR THOUGH....FOR SURE....A FULL MARATHON IS IN ORDER...I KNOW I CAN DO IT NOW!!! I AM SPARTAAAAAAAAAA>>>>!!! ;)!!!:reddevil:

I DID IT!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

Amazing, absolutely amazing! We are all proud of you for JUST DOING IT!!!

Recently I built myself up to a peak of running a 25km race, regularly running 2 or 3 times a week. The past two weeks (almost 3!) I have suddenly stopped, and after a few days of no running... a few more come quite easily :p

Anyway, you have inspired me to get ONE RUN in this week. Doesn't have to be long/ hilly/ tough just a run... I'm GOING TO DO IT!!!

Thanks Alta, you are a stellar example for so many of us!

How is it possible that you make me feel good about myself when I am on your own page??? :D lol

...Ballys-30 mins Sauna (15 mins of yoga moves in there)

Is this the "Hot Yoga" I've heard about? What is it like? Is it better for you? Do you move swifter? Slippery?? Hahaha

I like how with your sub, you've got all the bad stuff, higher calorie, higher fats removed, I've been practicing how to say to someone, "AND Plz hold the bacon, mayo, cheese, with the sauce on the side." You know? Cuz that is half the dish, my salad, a yummy sub!

I came across rice milk in the store the other day, and I looked at the nutritional value and it was much greater in cals than my skim milk...maybe there is skim rice milk? They only had one brand though, so maybe that was it. I also wonder the thickness of this Brown Rice & Almond Milk. Do you ever use coconut milk as well Alta?

I was thinking of giving some a try. I really don't like soy milk, maybe I have yet to find the right one there as well. I've had chocolate soy milk, :puke: LMAO it was so sick!

Alta- You just made me giggle!! Cate......giggling because she's just been tickled by Alta but luckily not to death. You are one funny girl!!xoxoxoxoxoxoxo!! Cate

I RAN MY FIRST 1/2 MARATHON today!!!!!!!!

My Half Marathon went AMAZING today!!!!

..... I ran it in 2:45!!!....Which was Great because I was worried that I would be the last one and I wasn't!!! It was a small race with about 400 runners, and was GREAT! The elevation is super high, and the trail is hard...VERY! The uphills are crazy intense, and the view is INTENSELY BEAUTIFUL because you are up so high, and can see EVERYTHING! ....it definitely helps alright!

.....I ran every step of the way I am proud to say ...I chose a steady speed, and told myself "Just worry about the next step, the hill is not a hill, if you just worry about the next step. The rest will follow. One more step, one more step, yeaaa yeaaa yeaaa....HILLS MAKE THE WOMAN, hills make the warrior, and YOU LOVE HILLS ALTA,...bring it on, cause no matter how big....it doesn't matter when all you have to do is take just ONE MORE STEP!" And it went AMAZING !!!!

....I beat my boyfriend by like 5-7 minutes, :sifone:and I actually ran into him at the last water stop at mile 10.5 ! I was so happy the whole way that he ran with us. Also, my friend Elena who I've been training with ran as well. She came in at like 3:10. Usually we are on the same pace, but today I was just determined, and I wasn't gonna take walking in my run one bit! ....and to top it off...it was SUNNY ASS HELL early in the morning. I definitely look browner...hahah....

....I got this cool little metal at the end, and I invited my mom and my stepdad, and my baby 4 year old brother to come, and they took pics. My little 4 year old brother has already ran a 1 mile race before, and is now going to run a 5k with my grandpa. My whole family is very athletic, and have always ran and done crazy races our whole lives, so I was really proud of myself, that they were happy and proud of me too! I was so proud of all of us actually , especially cause :

Elena- got Pms (tom) that morning...ugggg, had to use the bathroom on a mountain trail with no bathrooms,so she had to pop a squat..hahah

My boyfriend- Has been sick this whole past week, didn't have any training, was still sick, hasn't trained on hills or past 3 miles daily, which hasn't been in like 1 1/2 weeks. AND was having knee issues at mile 10.5! (he swears he's not an old man ;) :smilielol5:)

ME: NADA!!!! Feeling super GREAT!

So next.....I already found it....A FULL MARATHON, that comes in NOVEMBER 15th!!!! It is a nice whopping 26.2 miles that starts from Camarillo california, and ends up at Zuma beach!!! YEAAAAAAAAAA....can you imagine how niceeeee that run is gonna be!!??!! I'm almost sure somehow it'll end up on on PCH for a long while, next to the Ocean with a NICE breeze!!!.....!!!

I'm gonna do it, and Elena is such an amazing partner who is always ALWAYS willing to train with me, whenever I can. She's pretty funny...she tells me ,

"For SURE ALTA, while everyone is out doing what they do, I'd rather be getting my MIND RIGHT. SHIT. And my UmmmUmmm body right." (and she winks) hahah!

...so we are doing it! plain & simple.
....I will be a COUCH POTATO to a MARATHON honey even if it kills me....but it won't ;)!!!
