Oh Alta, You exhaust me just reading what you get up to- saunas, running, raw foods, partying....... What's next sweetie? :svengo: You are making me feel old!!! Oh yeah, whoops, I am in comparison( by about 30 years!) Cheers, Cate, your Aussie mate.

Alta818 - Great story you've got going there. Inspirationalt to say the least

I'm Anthony Jacons, I'm a Personal Trainer, I've helped hundreds of men and women lose weight through sport, running, cycling, swimming etc

After reading though some of your posts, you mentioned that ou want to achieve an ideal weight of 125, if you keep running like that you won't have any problem.

However, when you run, you're burning close to 100 calories every miles you run, so 9 miles = 900 calories, that's a terrific work out.

You said you cut out or ruduced carbs? If you want to be able to run consistently like you have been, and make it easier for yourself (increasing your energy capacity) you need to eat carbs, carbs are the best form of slow release energy source there is, eat carbs the day before you run even 2 days before, it will stay in your system and you will have more energy, which means you can step it up and lose more become more toned.

I see a lot of people are concentrating on 'weight', measuring your weight can be inacurate and it can fluctuate from time to time and if you're active like you are, you are building muscle when you run and muscle mass makes you heavier (but makes you look great), what you should really concentrate on is % of fat your body has - fat weighs a lot!

This would be a good time to redirect your efforts now into fat burning.

You will have better results

If you need any advice on how to do this let me know, i'd be glad to help

Anthony

This is the attitude you need to have at the stage you're at, keep working hard and the results will be tremendous.

How many miles are you running per week ALTA? Have you signed up to run in any half marathons?? This is the best way to go to the next level, this gives you a deadline to work towards and a reward at the end. Whenever the guys i train get to a certain fitness level i always encourage them to sign up for races - the idea isn't to race as such, but to be able to complete the run.

The Goal is to teach yourself to become a 'finisher'.

Thank You!!! Thank you!!! I was running about 12-15 per week, starting back to make it to where I felt good at about 30 per week....then I sprained my ankle last week and I've been out of commission since then! :(

I actually did sign up for a 12k race for May 17th ...Bay to Breakers in San Francisco! I'm really excited about it!!! :D!

...I really REALLY like what you said there....teach myself to become a "FINISHER!!...this has been my issue my WHOLE life....I'm a GREAT STARTER but in the past I have always been a weak finisher!!!

....like I said.....IN THE PAST!! ;)!!! Because NOW, I'm ready for the FULL DISTANCE!

..thanks for your kind words!!! They really help!! :)

Finishing things

Yes - its simple things that make all the difference. Even if you're reading a book, make sure you finish it!

It doesn't have to be related to your weight loss program, the fact that you want to always get into the habit of finishing things, this will help you transfer this technique to your weight loss or fitness regime.

There will come a time when all this becomes a neccessity, you'll feel the NEED to work out - this is where you want to get to, but don't force it, enjoy the training.

I'm sorry to hear about your foot, injuries can be detremental to goals and can jeopordise your weightloss plans, so do take injuries seriously!

Take care of that foot - don't workout too much, because this can cause injury, habit is more important than breaking a personal record.

great talking to you Alta

Awww thank you!! :grouphug:!! I love all this mushiness!! hahah!! :D!! :beating:!!

...that was AMAZING advice what he said.....in the car this morning I realized that he was right,....my whole life, I've been asking the WRONG QUESTION to myself.....meaning usually I would ask: "What did you do/start today?" ...when the REAL QUESTION should ALWAYS be...."What did you finish today?"!!!!! ....wow....that one was so simple , YET SO DEEP!!! :D!!!

......that's exactly my NEW DAILY QUESTION: "WHAT DID YOU FINISH TODAY"?

....so far today: I finished reading 3 magazine articles on juicing ;)
I finished 40 mins in the Sauna
I finished clearing out junk emails
I finished eating a RAW Breakfast & Snack
I finished 1/2 gallon of water so far

....things I hope to finish today as well......more to come! :D!

Life is about "finishing"!!!

So I love that NEW DAILY QUESTION!?!! "WHAT DID YOU FINISH TODAY?".....good shit!!! :coolgleamA: I always used to start everything...now I realize what's the problem ...= LIFE OF LOOSE UNFINISHED ENDS! (funny I even did it with all my relationships in the past too....we never actually broke up...it just kinda ended with them all.....go figure....maybe thats why we are able to still have a chill friendly convo's with the ex's....don't tend to go there almost EVER though :D! ...LOL!!...bottom line....FINISH SHIT!!! :icon_bs:

...Gym Last Night: Sauna 1 hour (my ankle still hurts like a MOFO :ack2:)
-15 mins of yoga poses in there
.....Gym this morning: 40 mins of Sauna...5 mins of Yoga Poses

Breakfast: 1 Raw banana sprinkled w/ Cinnamon
7 Raw Soaked 12 hours+ Almonds

Snack: 4 tablespoons of Caesar Salad dressing (left over from Yesterday, yummy like a spread) :drool5:
Raw Deyhydrated 105^ less -Flax Sunflower Gluten Free Crackers

Lunch: Caesar Salad (Raw Sauce from yesterday made with Soaked Sunflower Seeds...SOOO GOOD! :D!) w/ Soaked Almonds, fresh alfalfa sprouts, capers, fresh arugula (looks like baby spinach), Orange Slices, Purple Onion, Cilantro

Dinner: hmmm.......??? (I plan to make maybe some FRESH RAW DOLMA GRAPE LEAF WRAPS--with Sprouted Rice-soaked for 48 hours +) ;)!!! with maybe another Salad! :)

Finishing

It was a Psycologist that gave me that advice - i've based most of my life around this method - it's amazing how much of a motivation it becomes.

I ran my first marathon 10yrs ago - i was 9miles away from the finish line...yes 9 miles another 1hr and 20 mins left of running, I was already hurting, but only for the fact that i had to 'finish' what i started i managed to get through to the end.

This method can help you achieve anything in life, even earning money, use this in a diet and BAM! You get some crazy results.

A psychologist huh :bigear: ?!?!! SOLID GOLD ADVICE!! :iagree: I think that just that ONE mental focus shift is what will take me from being a "Starter" to being a "Great Finisher!"!!! :cheers2:

...I commend you and admire you for running a FULL MARATHON!!!:hurray: I SOOOOO want to do that one day and I will ;)!!! Now I realize "step by step ...day by day....inch by inch....IT CAN BE DONE!...It's not a RACE, it's a MARATHON!!! " And finishing that marathon is such a great example of how this "mental shift" can really draw AMAZING results!!! WOW!!!:svengo:

....you are so wise ....:biggrinjester:...thanks it's like you are one of my little "Free :beating:" "LIFE COACHES!!!" :grouphug: hahah!! ....I love FREE!!

....you've inspired me to want to make DAILY lists of all the things I FINISH DAILY!!! :gnorsi:

You are such a live-wire! I love reading your diary. I must admit to getting fairly mushy these days- "I just feel the luuuurrv!"
I think it's got something to do with my birthday......?
I agree with you about the free life coach. Don't you just love it! I find the whole forum is free life coaching! Now I had better finish looking at the forum & get moving!
Cheers, Cate.

Oh Alta!!!!! It's not my birthday today. I just saw my rep points had grown so checked. You just made me laugh so much & out loud that I had tears! It's just a silly old fart saying of some of my friends. I should have said "It's something to do with my age." I get mushier as I get older! Thanks for that though. Now I'm going to expect more on my actual birthday. Ha ha. Only kidding, xo Cate

....I am noticing my body is REALLY slimming and toning down a lot...I weighed myself last monday....I think this coming Monday I'll do the same, but mainly I will take measurements of my body....cause I took some somewhere  in here....a while back....so it'll be nice to see some PROGRESS...I hope!! :D!! NA, PSH!!! I KNOWWWWW!!!! :D!!

...Snack: Raw Orange, Raw Flax Cracker, Raw Caesar Sunflower Spread

...Dinner: ?? ....hmm...might just be a salad of some sort...or I might juice tonight.

....I read really good articles about "Juicing" and how much more nutrients we are actually able to absorb throughout our bodies by blending the items and releasing the enzymes, versus eating the fruit or vegetables....

...Interesting....hmm....Raw Foodists actually Juice almost everyday at least as a snack somewhere throughout the day! I want MORE effective nutrient consumption....so JUICE a DAY it is! :)!! I would say on the average of everything I'm eating...yeah (alcohol exception for those 2 parties..LOL)....I am eating anywhere between 85-95% RAW LIFESTYLE!!!!! CheeeeoooW! Who knew I could really do it and LIKE IT at that!!! It's EMPOWERING!!
