Yeah, I'll change it up, too, which some people don't. It gets me so pissed to raise it, but that helps motivate me. I also like looking at the graph. Shows some real improvement when you need a confidence boost.

I love seeing PEOPLE's TICKERS....makes me HAPPY to see EVERYONE's PROGREES or start!

Um, I'm not particularly worried about my weight, more my fitness level and how I look! I want 6 pack abs and a rockn' ass.... oh and sexy toned arms too... the weight loss just comes along with all of these goals. And I know if I focus on getting to a certain weight it will only hinder my progress....:piggy:

Tickers don't have to be weight oriented. It's whatever your goals are. You can make it "miles run this month" or whatever. Check it out.
 
It's coming SLOWLY...after RE READING and DOING it again and again....I'm FINALLY understanding a BIT....how annoying.....HAHAHA.....believe it or NOT....outlining doesn't DO A damn thing for me.....I tried and I would look back and NOTHING in the MEMORY....likeeeee UGGGGHHH :cuss:.....butttt guess WHAT DOES WORK...;) ...

Hi honey :). Not sure what you're studying, but I had a really good technique in law school that worked like a charm in memorizing test material. Basically I would half ass it for the whole semester and be lazy, and then a few weeks before the test I would catch up on all my reading and highlight any important points in the reading materials, keeping the highlights to a minimum though. Then I would sit at the computer with my book and summarize each highlight into my own short hand sentence. I would boil the whole book down to a few typed pages, and I would study those pages till I had them memorized. The bubbles obviously works exactly the same so you are on the right track with the 5th grade stuff HAHA.

Ohhhhh......THANK you SO much....THAT sounds WAY better TOO!!!! The Issue I am running into right NOW is that this COURSE is accelerated into 5 WEEKS :eek:!!!!! ITs crazy, I am taking a LAW 10 course right now......and IN THE MIDST of the first week:

*READ CH. 1 & 2= 50pgs of TINY ass WORDS :eek2:
*ARTICLE ATTACHMENTS READ-2 articles on "How to Study LAW" and "Understanding Cases Like a Lawyer"--Post-3 things you learned on each
*ARTICLE READ--"The Uses of ARGUMENT"-discuss elements of arguments, & how they help me
*ARTICLE--"Analytical THINKING"-1. State the Eight Elements That Make up all thinking.
2. State the Steps to Identify and Question the Elemental Structures of thinking.
3. Discuss how you can use the above to better study and apply the law in your law classes.
* #1 - Brief a Law Case--oh brother....
* #2 - Chp. 1 Case Problem---huh?....hahahh
* #3 - Austin Case-tons of questions to answer :(

...what the HELL is going on here....and the reading is Soooo Slow moting....you would I had DYSLEXIA or something....and THIS IS all SO OVERWHELMING...IT"S crazy!!!

...the REASON I am taking these LAW courses, is because I want to do my PARALEGAL certification, because I want to EVENTUALLY just take over the family businesses on my DAD's side....which NOW are 2 of them....soon to be 3.......and they DO everything from, Marriages, Divorces, Immigration Law things, Taxes, deal with Tort Laws, and WHO KNOW ssss what OTHER things....and I am "IGNANT" :smilielol5: when IT COMES to all of these THINGS.....so HE IS GETTING older, the OPPORTUNITY has been presented, and I NEED TO DO THIS!!!!

...so WHAT is KEEPING me GOING is the FACT that IT'S "FAMILY" I will work for, and I can't get FIRED from FAMILY, and I COULD make and DO A LOT better FOR MYSELF than NOW,......and I WANT this and NEED this........UGgggggHHH!!!

...ITs been a FEW years since I have been out of UNIVERSITY....I was so damn INDECISIVE before, started a MILLION things and DIDN"T finish SHIT, cause I would lose FOCUS and DEDICATION and get BOGGLED down with MY PROCRASTINATION!!!!....

....there are about 12 LAW courses,.....and I KNOW this ACCELERATED one is TOO MUCH to handle for me...especially ONLINE.....so....I am NOT STRESSING out, spending all my TIME reading, finding time to SQUEEZE in a workout, and REALIZING that GOOD THINGS come with HARD WORK, and TIME, and REALLY.......if I FAIL this FIRST class.....I CAN get UP and DO IT again and again....until I PASS and FINALLY get all THIS CRAP!!! LOL....

...sorry VENTING.....Ahhhhh.....YOU are AMAZING though....!!! LET ME TELL YA!!!

...ANYONE who can DO ALL THIS and WITHSTAND their SANITY and DEDICATION is OUTSTANDING in my book......

When I was in school I would make a page of notes or key points, then record them via mini cassette recorder or on the computer. From there I would put it on a MP3 player or CD and listen to it in the car or while I was doing whatever. Even watch a sports game on TV and mute it, listening to my study material. You walk away knowing a lot more of the material than traditional study habits.

Hmmmm....SO INTERESTING.....:iagree: I have not EVER gone out of my way to do that.....I wonder WHAT it is I WOULD record though.....everyyyyything? OR just TERMS, or MY understanding of the CHAPTER.....? what exactly?

You record whatever you would study. Be it terms, chapter highlights, pretty much whatever you would write down and study. You just record it and listen to it like a broken record. If you can't figure out what to study, then you may just be beyond help. :smilielol5:
 
I don't have any tips or tricks. What I found throughout my college years was that you have to find a technique that works for you. I just plain ole put the hours in and sacrificed. You just got to put your nose in the books, do the best you can to stay on top of the fast moving assignments, and get through it. It's damn hard work but that is why most educated people make more than the average man on the street...they have committed to learning and putting in the time and energy during their youth so they can have the bigger payout during their later years in life. It's hard work, but soooo worth the end result.

Like my grandpa used to say "Your education is something no one can ever take away from you...."

If anyone can do it, you can Alta. Start reading!!

2 years will fly by so fast you won't even know what happened. It's going to be a whirlwind of studying, working, working out, trying to juggle your personal life, social life, and all that....but in the end you'll be better aligned with your long term life goals and have more more dream accomplished! Go get em'
