Couch POTATO to "MARATHON" HONEY! :)

Heh, Alta I wish it was just excuses. I WOULD LOVE TO RUN! I'm already planning on that triathalon in May 09. I'll tell ya right now though, if I go out and run ignoring the pain in my knees... I'll end up in the hospital gettin MRI's again. Then I'll have to get surgery and be off my feet for weeks. Thats just not something I'm willing to do. I don't expect anyone to understand, I just have to stay within my limits.

Hey Alta, come bench press 315 with me... don't give excuses just do it ;).

Shaun, stick to the elliptical for now. You'll get ready for the running and it will have so much less stress on your knees. You'll know when they are strong enough.

Yeah, thats what I'm thinkin too Trops. Maybe even find a dirt trail to start running on when I get to that point. More cushion on the knees than pavement.

I'm not saying run miles, I'm talking steps.....STEP BY STEP!!! But I don't want you injured, I'm just saying......thats all.....KEEP ON WITH YOUR BAD SELF!!! :iagree:

You can also do some jumping rope. If you keep you knees flexed and use your ankles as shock absorbers, it will have mush less stress on your knees. Also, you will get three times the workout for the same time.

That's also great!!! That is still tough on the knees though, no?

Not so much because you are using both legs to absorb the shock of your weight, instead of one at a time with running.

Agreed, but I burn more calories on the elliptical than I do walking. Soon as the knees feel better I can't wait to run.

Jumping rope is a good idea. I'm can be kinda clumsy when it comes to that stuff but maybe I'll give it a try.

I'm with you, Alta. I'll look in the fridge and see all that beer. "don't worry ladies. I'll be seeing you soon enough" They look so sad there, all cold and lonely with no Trops to play with. Good thing that fridge door shuts tight.
hahahah.....I always thought of them as MY BOYS!!!...not my GIRLS!!! LOL

...like...come here boys,....lemme feel those curves, that cool bottom, that frosty ass!!! LOL!!!

..guess we all have different FANTASIES of those that live in the FRIDGE!!! LOL

On a serious note.... Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. For the most part at least. I was reading today how abs are 90% diet and 10% exercise. Something to keep in mind for everyone.
