Couch POTATO to "MARATHON" HONEY! :)

ladies & gents: I am a Marathon Runner! :coolgleamA::hurray: (well, almost ;) )

...finally after Sunday ...I will be able to say I went from a Couch Potato to a Marathon Honey!!! :party:!...

...Ran 10 miles Friday night, danced one hour afterwards ...and today I'm running my last 20 mile run-flat ground before NEXT SUNDAY.....my real Marathon 26.2 miles!!!...plan to get a 10 mile in again during the week, and some sprint repeats as well sometime during the week...rest Friday and Saturday and WHIP IT OUT SUNDAY!!! .....wish me luck...cause I'm gonna need it!! :cheers2:

Ah! You're making me nervous! Running 20 miles in one session less than a week before the marathon?! That's... crazy. Take a break and rest your legs; you should have nothing more than a few 3-4 mile days starting today (Tuesday) and then rest on Saturday.

Yeah, I know - running ONLY 3 or 4 miles is boring and pointless, and not worth changing into running clothes - however, it needs to be done.

I once made the mistake of over-training before a marathon, and during the race my legs seized up around mile 15 and it was hard to move them because it felt like they weighed a ton. Be careful!

When does your race start on Sunday? I'm sure you'll do well, good luck!!

Hey Mike!! ....no, don't worry.....:D! I actually realized on my run last night, that I was only going to do a baby run, maybe Thursday night...for a little 3 miler....and use the rest of the week to refresh my legs!!!...I really really wanted to get a LONG training run in the week before to build confidence, because though I did it a few weeks back...that's exactly what it feels like...a few weeks back..and in the running world...that's a LONG TIME AGO in my eyes. :)...so I needed my confidence so fresh and so clean!! ;)

...Yes, my race starts on Sunday!!!..:cheers2:.The only thing intimidating me is the 20,000 people that are going to be there, and finding the parking, and it being too far away from the start,..and being able for my family to find me, and getting the registration packet ontime...and UGGGG....that's what's got me worried.. hahah!

...My run went STUPENDOUS last night :hurray:....of course it was night already, but most if not all of my training has been in the day time. So hope I'll be good!!!...

...Its getting to the point that I don't even believe that I can run that far!!! Crazy huh?!!?!.....I was thinking....30 miles doesn't sound that far anymore :reddevil:!!! hahah!

...as far as my 20 mile run last night!!!..BAM ...simple!!! ...I feel like nothing happened today, no soreness, nada.....My running partner on the other hand, is BROKEN today...she can barely move, and all kinds of things hurt on her, and she might have injured her leg! Saying a prayer that she feels better by Sunday!! :iagree:!!!

.....Cancun better be READY for these TATAS!! CheeeeeeeeeeooooW!!! :party:!!!

Okay ...Perfect!!!....I've been working on some consistency here!

Monday: 20 mile run @ night
Tuesday: 30 mins. of Dance at night
Wednesday: 20 mins of Dance in morning

Monday Food:

Brkfst:1 cup of oatmeal w/ water, no sweetner added, with a sprinkle of granola ontop-9:30 am= FULL
Snack: 2 bites of egg wrap from my mom's meal--saw her for a minute-----16 oz, of HOT Oolong Tea--no sweetner --one tablespoon of white stuff-makes it look like milk
Lunch: 3 1/2 turkey meatballs the size of 2 quarters, grilled with artichoke hearts (garlic, sea salt, onion powder, olive oil, pepper)= 3:30 pm--full
Dinner: 20 mile Run---9:30 pm- 1/2 Raw Bar + TONS of water during run-----11:48 pm finished.....hungry @-1 diet sprite & Doritos bag of Ranch Chips---1:30 am--1 cup of Wild Mixed Rice w/ Quinoa mixed in it too...mixed and cooked with One egg. ---Sleep right after = TIRED!

Tuesday:

Bkfst-1 cup of oatmeal w/ water, one tablespoon of agave, 5 rasberries and blueberries, and a sprinkle of granola--10:15 am= SUPER SATISFIED/FULL
Snack:12:40 pm- 1 raw bar-apple flavor- water-
Lunch: 2:20 pm--Hatuchay Peruvian Food (aww..bf came and surprised me and picked me up for lunch! yay!)----1 causa (can't explain it..lol-has tuna, peas, and made of flower I think...looks like a little slice of cake-but salty), with white 1/2 cup of white rice, 1 bread roll-large, with butter, and Chicken seasoned with fries mixed in..juicy!!--water & their famous green sauce===FULL
Snack: 1 string cheese-8:15 pm
Dinner: 10:15 pm 1 Marie Callenders small chicken pot pie (ate 3/4 of it) = SO GOOD..never tried one before!= Full

Wednesday-Today:

Hey Hey pretty lady!!! :D!!!....yeah, 20 miles!! :eek: It's crazy I know isn't it!?!? ...well, for water....I just use these cool little water belts. It amounts to 2- 16. oz bottles of water. And I refill at the 10 mile marker.

I usually only consume water, at mile 5 and at mile 10 and mile 15....for some reason...my body thinks of all of this in numbers of 5!...And that's actually how I got up to that amount of running.

...Every time I increment, I do it in intervals of 5 miles. And I park really far...hhhahaha...no going back! ;)

...this Sunday will definitely be my farthest yet!!!...26.2 miles!! I can't even believe it myself!! :eek:!! :D!...I'm grateful though!!

...And in regards to BOOBIES: It's a funny thing...that growing up while I was young, I was always chubby and in the fifth grade having boobs was not cool in my times, and I absolutely wanted to be like those girls who had little boobs that didn't shake! I thought they were the best.....and in exchange for the hotness you have NOW...;) I'd take your set any day!! :D!...no joke!...hahah....

....the best part of smaller boobs : NO SAGGING!!!...NO GRAVITY taking place here! hahah! .....can't say the same for bigger boobs....:p

So why is it freaking me out...that I have to START running by 7:00 am...the race itself is a 35-40 min drive no traffic...and there are going to be 20,000 people looking for parking and getting ready and all that they advise we arrive at LEAST 2 hours in advance because there will be TONS OF TRAFFIC, which would make that 5 am arrival!!!! :eek:. Ahhhhhhhhh...:doh: :willy_nilly:....

...and we all know me and my waking up early issues....:icon_bs:....how the hell am I gonna get on the road :auto: at 4:30 am?!!?!?!? :ack2:

I ran my longest today, 7 miles, and i know i could have done 10 easily, but i don't think i want to be a distance runner, just a solid one. lol 5 and 10ks are my thing, unless i get addicted... anyway i just wanted to give you kudos and let you know how great you are in case you ever forget, its listed here now :)

Clarence, we're going to have to get addicted if we want to catch Alta. You think an awesome girl like this is going to slow down and just let us catch her? No way! We're going to have to earn it. :)

Alta, I'm off for the weekend to vist family for Thanksgiving, so if I don't get another chance to post, I want to tell you what an incredibly supportive and inspiring person you are - one post from you is enough to get me off the couch and onto the track (or into the gym, or the pool). Clarence said it perfectly - your energy and enthusiasm is contagious!

Have fun on the marathon, and do us proud! You are so ready for this!

I probably won't be near a computer until Sunday night, so I just wanted to say good luck! Remember, NO fiber on saturday! Be careful what you eat this weekend; you don't want to mess up your stomach for the race.

You will love the "runner's high" feeling after the marathon... some say it's better than sex. I don't know why they compare the two... Personally, I think they're both great in their own ways, and don't need to compete with each other. You have to experience the marathon runner's high for yourself to understand what the hell I'm talking about... :willy_nilly:

ANYWAYS...... I look forward to seeing victory pics! Hope you're excited!

Heh I haven't been able to read everything because there's so much to read but I'll try my best to work my way through it.

I'll hold off on questions until I am able to do some reading here to save you the trouble of answering the same questions you probably have already.

I see you'll be going on vacay soon...How much are you trying to lose before then??
