Confessions of a food Junkie

I bet you could keep up. Just make sure you know how to take your heart rate, and know what your target range for weight loss is. I find I have to go really slow on the cardio machines to keep my heart rate in the fat burning range for me. I get carried away and have to pull back. I think I get my heart rate up just putting on my shoes! LOL :D

I think someone's going to have to explain to me how to do that

I am actually getting really excited to go to the gym. I never thought I would think that. Another sign that things are turing around!

I really have no schedual tomorrow except based on meals

8:30 ~ Breakfast
10:00 ~ Snack
12:30 ~ Lunch
3:00 ~ Snack
6:00 ~ Supper
8:00 ~ Family walk
So my goals for tomorrow are:

1. Eat meals as planned
2. Get in 2 miles of walking
3. No binging
4. Avoid scale until monday
5. Wake up at 8:30 (1/2 hour earlier than today)
6. In bed by 10:00pm
7. Get some housework done.

Well I went to bed late and woke up late  I hate when I do that!

Well, I'm finishing painting my room. Just waiting for this last little bit to dry and then I have to cut out my Japanese kanji symbols but that is my next and last step and then I'm done!:) FINALLY!

I forgot to change my clothes and I got 2 dabs of paint on a good shirt  ... It was one of my fav's....lol I think I'll wear it anyways haha.

Oh, you've GOT to change your clothes when painting! Murphy's Law rules supreme when it comes to paint ;)

Definitely post pictures of your room when you're done!

Hi Miss K! Congrats on all the excersise and weight loss! I wish my numbers would go down, but I just have to keep thinking slow & steady wins the race :)

Twinmom- or anyone!- what happens if you go over your target heart rate? And what happend if you go over your supposed maximum heartrate? I could never figure it out!

Hey eveyone,

I've just been outside for the afternoon with my son and hubby. We set up Telaryn's (my son) slip n' slide and he had a blast. It's soooo hot out!

I am being hit by major craving right now...I haven't had one(craving) for about 9 days and it's hitting me hard. I really want a iced cappichino(sp??) from Tim Hortons right now...I looked up the nutritional info and for 10 oz (with milk instead of regular) it's 150 cals....1.5 grams of fat...32 carbs, 32 grams of sugar...Yikes  ...I need something to distract me!!!! it's already been a half hour...I've drank lots of water, went outside, drank more water...still nothing. GET LOST SNACK FAIRY!!! I HATE YOU !!!!!!!!!!

From what I understand, you need to elevate your heart rate while exercising in order to burn any calories. Your body burns mostly fat at the lower range, and mostly carbohydrates at the higher range. So, if you want to lose weight and burn fat, you need to be going at a little bit lower intensity.

I am not sure what the actual numbers are, and from what I understand they vary from person to person based on your fitness level. But, a good measure is whether you can carry on conversation while you are working out. If you are sweating, but can still talk, you are likely in the fat burning range. If you are huffing and cannot carry on conversation in full sentences, you probably need to back it up a bit.

If you go to a gym, the trainers there can probably give you a better idea, and show you how to calculate your rate. Hope that helps. :)

Come on - you can tell us - did you slip and slide yourself? :D Those things are such fun...

I'm not sure what an ice cappacino is from tim hortons but it sounds like it'd be similar to a frappacino from starbucks

If you have a blender, you can make your own..
Mal's Mocha Frappe
2 cups double-strength freshly brewed dark roast coffee
2 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder, plus additional cocoa powder for garnish
2 splenda packets if desired
1/2 cup nonfat milk

Fill ice-cube trays with half of the brewed coffee and place in the freezer.
In a pitcher, combine the remaining coffee, cocoa , spenda and milk and stir to dissolve the cocoa. Chill.

When the ice cubes have frozen, add them to a blender jar, add the chilled coffee mixture, and blend blend blend...

Pour into a glass..

No fat because you are using nonfat milk, and the calories are pretty small... you can also substitute the cocoa for a sugar free syrup, like vanilla or raspberry...

I'm definitely going to be trying this. Oh how I long for a Venti Peppermint Mocha Frappucino with no whip....

Thanks,
Bonnie

Good going Kallie. Being out is better than being in (some how that statement sounds like I'm advertising for a gas reliever or something :) ) You know what I mean though. Hope all has gone well today with you...Don't worry about the snack fairy, we just have to ignore her to no end.

Well tonights little talk is going to be short because I have to run to do a half hour walk and then quickly get showered and ready to go out for 9pm with my bestfriend (haven't seen for a while). We're going to a bar, but I won't drink. :) So talk to you all in the morning.:)

Hope you had a good night out. Your food intake continues to look awesome. You are making some really good choices and you came up with a fantastic alternative to settle your sweet tooth. So proud of you!!!

Hey guys,

well last night was fun. I hate peer pressure. I went to two different bars and at the first one, we were at a birthday party and someone bought me a coor's light with clam....I didn't drink it all...well just about:eek: ...and I drank a glass of water...then at the second bar I ran into a whole bunch of people I know from my hubby's hometown....actually his ex-girlriend was celebrating her 19th b-day (we get along) and then this other guy was having a jack & Jill party because they are getting married next saterday (We're going of course) so that was really interesting.

I love all of those people we ran into. They alway have a lotta love for me. They bought me a shot of tequila (sp??)...I just had the shot..no salt or lemon :) That and the beer were the only 2 drinks I had all night(anyone know what the calories are????)

I danced for a good solid 2 hours or more and I know my legs got a work out because they were sore by the end of the night.

OH yea.....I ran into this guy (Andy) who I went to grade school with (k-8) and what a snot I tell you. He gave me this look. I can't even describe it to you, but it was not nice. I am so tired of people treating me like I've got some sort disease because I'm fat. I'm done with jerks.

I normally won't dance when we go out because I just feel weird like I don't belong up there or something, but last night I took some of my power back from people and I went up there and shook what my mamma gave me LOL. I even danced when no one else was. This really is a new chapter in my life. :)

Dancing feet has more calories burned than what you drank - and sounds like you've got some new found confidence in yourself too... WAY TO GO, Beautiful!!! :D

FYI- A coors light has about 100 calories, a regular beer i think is about 150 _dancing for about 2 hours is about 1000 calories burned... Ya did good... :)

Thanks Mal and Pinny :)

Oh and Mal, I didn't go on the slip n slid LOL. That would have been hilarious though.

Well that's a little bit low for the day...but I guess that sort of makes up for those drinks I had last night and the fact that sundays are my day off from the walking. Back adder tomorrow. Hubby is working some overtime tonight so it would just be me and my son. Instead, I have to cut out my stencils and then I just have to tape them up and paint and then I am done my room finally! So more painting and taping exercise for me :D

I'm still drinking water right now to make it to my goal of 80 oz for the day and won't stop until I do.

Anyways, I think I had a great weekend at home.

Sounds like you had a great weekend. And unless that steak was really marbled, I don't think it has that many calories.

*sigh* Mangos. I still miss mangos. I haven't been able to eat them since I was 7, due to a severe allergic reaction. But they still smell sooo good. *sigh*
