Alright, I am completely starting over.

I have lost weight before. I started out at 147 pounds, got down to 130. But over the summer, I gained a lot back, and I am now back up to exactly 147 pounds.

I am 15. I want to lose about 17-27 pounds. I want do do so before christmas. Let's hope I can.

So far today I have eaten:

1.5 english muffin-180
yogurt-110
2 pieces toast-70
carrots-40
chicken fetachinni flourante-270
1 banana- 100

for a total of 770 (I think) today so far

I still have some soup and a turkey burger on the menu.

I am going to run about 6-7 miles today (not a lot for me, so don't worry, I run varsity Cross Country for my school)

Please, tell me any tips you may have for me, I need them!

Fruit Punch-100
Smoothie 200

Total for day: 1220

Running: 6-7 miles, I think it was only about 6.5, but my mom and everyone else thinks it was 7 :p Oh well, twas fun.

I think I need someone to help me along the way with this. If anyone wants to be my buddy just post here or email me! runforfun529@wowway.com

Alright, for today--

eating:

egg- 100
english muffin 100
ham sandwich 150
pretzels 125
fruit- 75
soup-80
Nature valley bars 180
banana-100
yogurt-110

1020 so far, turkey burger left for today on the menu, then bed

I got sick today during XC practice. I really can't stand it, but I think I'm gonna go out on a long run today, I've already ran about 2 miles, then probably another four, or else I will think I have failed and then quit my diet all together and get depressed.

you probably want to make sure that you are getting enough calories in your diet as well... I'm not sure what kind of "sick" you got - whether nauseaus or dizzy... but you are probably expending a lot of calories when you run so much, and you don't want to have too few in your diet either. In fact, our bodies can go into "starvation mode" where they actually store more fat if they are not getting a sufficient amount of calories.

A website that I found has been really helpful for me in figuring this out is - they have a link where you can enter in all of the activities you do in a given day, like sleeping, eating, walking, watching t.v., running for 6-7 miles, and figure out how many calories you need (or use) doing those activities. Then, depending on how much weight you would like to lose, you can subtract that number of calories (I can't remember the amount for each pound/week, but I think it is around 500 per day? - you'll have to look at it) and make sure you get the number of calories you have left.

to kind of summarize with numbers, for the daily activities I do, I expend around 2,400 calories each day. To lose two pounds a week, I need to not eat 1000 calories less than that each day... so I aim for around 1400 calories each day. I have heard that it is not safe to consume less than 1200 - and with an active lifestyle like you have, I'm sure that number would be much higher!!!

Good luck!!! (oh, and make sure you are drinking plenty of water!)

Thanks Amomono, I'll check it out

Alright, the only other thing I ate was a turkey burger: 200 calories.

So I weighed myself, just to see, and it said I lost 3 pounds, and I know this is weird, but I FEEL BAD ABOUT LOSING THE WEIGHT!! I know that sounds weird but now I just feel like I'm just gonna gain it all back!! I am about to lose focus or something, just not feeling the best overall today!

EDIT: whoops, a little binge, add another 400 or so calories on there.

I thought that maybe making an eating schedule for tomorrow would be a good idea:

breakfast (5:30)- oatmeal- 1/2 cup- 150 calories
lunch (10:20)- bologna sandwich - 110
fruit - 75
snack (1:30)- 1 nature valley bar- 90
snack/dinner(5:30)- 1 nature valley bar- 90
yogurt- 100
bologna sandwich- 110
Dinner-(9:15)- turkey burger- 200

all together that is 925, plus a couple other little things here and there, should be right around 1250 when it comes up with it.

Today:

oatmeal- 150
bologna sandwich - 110
fruit - 75
2 nature valley bars- 180
Pasta- 270
Cantalope 200
Soup 80
Toast 70

So right around 1150 (1135 if my calculations are exact, which they aren't)

For XC I did 6 miles, but it wasn't all that great of a pace, I ran with my friend who was sick with me and the coaches told us to take it easy, so we did.

Tomorrow:

Oatmeal -150 (seemed to keep me really full today)
small salad w/ chicken-150
Fruit- 75
nature valley bars- 180
soup- 80
chicken- 240
turkey burger- 200

Alright add on about... 210 calories as I just celebrated the best news of the week.

The guy I wanted to go to fall formal with, asked me!!! yay!

eh, had a little binge today

oatmeal 150
turkey wrap 150
fruit 75
granola bars 150
nature valley bars 180
smoothie 175
soup 80
cookies 200
other goodies 200
yogurt 90

so thats about 1450 let's just say 1500 cause I know I forgot something.

Not too bad, this is my binge day for the week. I can't have another one this week!!!

You are doing good! We want pics of that Fall Formal too! I wish I could run like you do. You might want to switch from a bologna sandwich to something more lean like turkey, or turkey bologna.

Yay! for the formal =) I remember how special that is... my finacee and I hooked up at our formal my senior year in high school =)

it looks like you are doing good... if you really don't want to have another binge day this week, what are you going to do to help yourself out with that? I am in the same boat... I'm normally really good about not eating so much, but last night I baked a cake, so now I have cake in my house, and I know that I am going to want to eat it... bleh...

Been doing fine, down to 142, and I CAN NOW FIT INTO MY FAVORITE PAIR OF JEANS.

They are a little tight though. I've been so busy and I better go, I'm supposed to be up the street at a party right now :-D

congratulations!!! sorry I haven't been around more to encourage you - this week has been sooo busy!!! but it seems like you are doing awesome =)

The best thing that I do when I get an urge to binge, is eat something small and sweet that will satisfy the craving (because it is usually for sweets) and then go do something that expends energy... So I'll eat a bite of ice cream ( I have a pint in the fridge) and then I'll go for a walk... or I'll have a piece of chocolate... I keep some hershey kisses in a jar on my desk... but just one... it's also about mind power... how much do you want to lose, and how much are you willing to "sacrifice"

I don't think of these things as sacrificing... I know how much more I am gaining in return, and it makes ALL the difference in the world... it's not a sacrifice, it's a lifestyle change... and so be proud of yourself for what you have done =)
