hi again all. I noticed that alot of people are loosing amazing amounts in cms, and I am sooooooooooooo envious. I have lost 16kg but only lost 47cm in total from around my body, is that normal??? I know it may seem a silly question but I am amazed by the measurements lost by other people. I will try and ring my consultant tomorrow and see what she says but its often hard to get hold of them when I have a free minute and no screaming kids to deafen me while talking. I would be interested to hear anyone elses opinion as to why I am not shrinking in size all that much
cheers for now:)

cm Verses weight

4ukids - I think that everyone on the program losses weight from different parts of the body at different stages of the program. I believe it has everything to do with where we carry our extra weight. As we put on excess weight, some of us get huge bellies, others get enormous thighs and some people seem to just get bigger all over. For the first few years I was overweight, I carried the majority of my excess weight on my thighs and bottom. I still seemed to have a great waist! Over the years, as I put on more and more weight, my breasts started getting bigger, then my arms got flabbier and my face went all - you know - fat! Towards the end of my 'putting on weight' cycle, I noticed that my, until that stage, relatively small waist was all of a sudden becoming not so small!
Even though I have lost heaps of weight so far, My thighs and bottom seem to be reluctant to let go of the extra cushioning they have become so accustomed to. I think this will be the last place I loss weight from...and I am praying that Cohen's will get rid of it because I really don't want to do 'thigh and butt exercises' to move it!!!
My point is that maybe your weight loss so far is mostly from parts of the body that you aren't actually measuring. To illustrate my point, I will compare my loss with a fellow forum member's progress so far...but they shall remain anonymous (I don't want to offend anyone  ).
This person has been on the program for 2 months and has had a total loss ofjust under 20kg and a cm loss of almost 100cm! I have been on the program for almost 6 months, have dropped more than 40kg and my total cm loss is 98cm!!!
As you can see, the differences in weight verses measurements between us are HUGE! And I'm guessing that if we all sat down and compared where we had lost weight from (i.e. the areas we have been measuring) that there would be massive differences there too.
So my point is that you, like me, must be losing weight from parts of the body you are not measuring...it is the only possible explanation! Anyone else got ant thoughts on this?

P.S. Sorry for the really, really, really looooooooooonnnnnnnggggg post...

4ukids-

Im the total opposite to you, im losing more Cm's then kg's... I actually look as though i have lost more weight then i actually have.. I thought i was doing something wrong in the beginning.. but the measurements tell the truth, stuff the scales LOL :)

Ive actually kept off the scales now, and im only going to weigh myself at my monthly weigh-in's with my consultant.. I tend to get very depressed if the scales havent gone down.. but then i do my measurements and they are really good :)

Hang in there, it will happen in time!!! If you are following the program 100% its bound to happen!

Good morning everyone,

Another week, another kilo (at least, right???) of fat flushed down the dunny! YEAH!

Thanks Netski for your history. I believe you honestly keep so many of us going. Good luck with re-feed. You'll do it no problem. You seem so focused at the moment. Good for you.

Less of Me - Jody, you are amazing and very entertaining! Over 40 kilos lost since May. WOW! Congratulations. I hope I can do it in time for Christmas. It must be amazing when you are so close to the finish line. As for the Bocconcini debate I have to confess to already eating it for my lunch a few times now. I hope we are allowed it. I have just sent my consultant an email regarding it so fingers crossed hey? I'll let you know as soon as I do.

BAM - Hang in there! I need you! So you slipped up with water? It does not spell the end I'm sure. It sounds as though you needed a good rest so your body will be grateful for that and good sleep I've been told equals good weight loss as well! So, lets keep going. Yesterday is dead and burried don't worry your pretty little self about it! YOU CAN DO IT!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Thankyou 8-2much :)

Dont worry im still by your side, the whole way darlin.. we will both get there if it kills us LOL!!!
Besides, i have too many people to dissapoint if i give in.. My mum is my cheerleader she is so incrediably proud of me, and not to mention my friends that havent seen me and will not see me until im done!!!

P.S- I drempt i ate Pizza last night, and i woke up crying... thought id stuffed it big time!! LOL thank god it was just a dream...

Losing those CM's!!!

Oh, regarding cm's lost? You should find this funny - mine says I have grown!!! Can you believe it! I almost ate the bloody measuring tape in protest!

You must make sure you measure the same place each time and I'm afraid I didn't take too much notice of where I put the tape the first time etc so I have been very inaccurate. For example, my hips - well I can hardly find them due to my lovely layers of chubbiness so I can't recall if I put the tape higher or lower around myself!

Oh, well...my clothes feel a little looser this week so I'm sure that is a sign that things are heading in the right direction.

I gave my scales to my sister as soon as I started so I have no idea what weight I am and will not know until my 4 week weigh-in. The anticipation is killing me, but I know my hard work will be refelected in the scales.

Keep going everyone! We'll get there!

refeed

Hi Guys
just to let you know i'm starting refeed tomorrow.
i'm going to malaysia on 15 sep so i'm hoping to be finished by then.
I know some people think its an easy (easier) journey for those wanting to lose 10-15kgs, but its still hard, it still takes dedication, and we will still have to battle the comfort eating and bingeing that got us here in the first place.
when you're 5ft, being 10kgs overweight is alot!
anyway, i really appreciate all your comments, tips and support.
hopefully refeed goes well!
all the best

hello people... good morning,

I like reading all your post... very uplifting and know there are people like me who are going through the same steps I am taking.

I had urinary tract infection (again) yesterday evening.. This time the onset of the infection come so quickly that I was unable to take any remedy to prevent the escalation of the symptons.. I was in such terrible pain, and urine become bloodied very quickly.. sigh... I needed a jab as I in such pain (i have high treshold for pain).. so you can really imagine the intensity for the pain. took a day off work and reading all the post.....

blondebomb - Wow! The refeed begins! Speaking of refeed - does anyone else agree that 'refeed' is a really, really, really bad term? It sounds like something you would do to stock animals or something like that. Surely they could have picked a better term than that...just my thoughts. Anyway, blondebomb, you must be so proud to have made it to this stage...and with good reason! :D I wish you well on your refeed and hope that you get it completed in time for Malaysia. If you have time, keep us updated on how it goes and the whole 'life after Cohen's' experience. I really enjoy hearing from people who have 'been there and done it'. :)
~BAM~ and 8-2much, you both made me laugh out loud when I read your posts earlier...the dream and then the 'finding of the hips'...thank you guys! :)
Have a fabulous day everyone!

Less of me-

Well im glad i brought a smile to your lovely face :)

Just a quick question for you... Are you scared about the re-feed (I know, really bad word), im actually terrified about putting the weight back on..

I have ages to go yet.. but life after Cohen's scares the bejesus outta me!!!

Fornight
Hi.. I just read your old post abt blood pressure reduce? how do u know?
I stop my blood pressure medicine... I wonder if that's wise?

Is there anyone on this program taking high blood pressure medicine? Is there anyone whose blood pressure become better?

Bocconcini - I am afraid to report that my consultant says it is a big fat NO!
I am weeping...I have already had it several times for lunch. I hope I haven't done too much damage. Oh well, never again!

Less of me, are you alright? I know this comes as a blow! We'll get by and man wont it taste all the better after our weight loss?

Bye for now.

If your bocconcini is just the same as fresh mozzarella, allbeit in smaller portioned balls then I think just ignore your consultant. Of course if the type of bocconcini you purchase isnt same food content as mozzarella (eg. if it "creamier" ) then maybe give it a miss.

To be honest with everyone Cohen appears to me partly based on science eg. it has all the aspects of well researched (proven) Protein Sparing Modified Fasts (PSMF) eg. low carb, low fat, more than enough protein a correct ratio for our ideal err lean body mass. Then there is a mix of what skeptically speaking is B.S. For example crackers made of wheat flour are ok but the equivalent amount of flour if used in cooking is not, err there is no difference in eating 11gms of crackers or 11gms of the same foods that where used to make the crackers.

My tip is just grind up your allowance of crackers (11gms of water crackers for example) into a fine powder (you can call it "flour") and use this "flour" in thicking up any stews or chinese style dishes.

I think Cohens works because of the science (PSMF) and the physcology in preparation (no scope for "cheating"), rather than the BS.

And it does work, 11kg after 4 weeks :)

Hi blondebomb - I have just started Cohens (this is my second day), and I also have about 10 - 15 kgs to lose. I was a bit disappointed when my contract time said 5 months to lose the 11 kgs. How long has it taken you to reach refeed??

dk73- I know this question wasnt directed to me... but 5 MONTHS!!! To lose 11kg's??.. No way in the world!! Thats just your contract.. you should lose it in less then 2 months prob even 6 weeks.. thats just crazy!

Follow the program 110% and you'll be there before you know it :)

Best of luck!!!

BAM you are not only down 7kgs U HAVE LOST 7KGS in 4 weeks that is a great effort. Keep it up u r doing really well

cheers Jewls

Gosh, maybe i am doing something wrong...

This is my 4th week and im only down 7kg.. :(

Not a happy BAM!

Remember "lessfatty" is a boy fatty, and a reasonable tall one 187cms. I will always metabolize more (lose weight faster) than a 155cm lady.

I think 7KG is great!!!!!

Bocconcini

Less Fatty - Thanks for your reply. I have also wondered about certain aspects of the diet and how they come to justify what we can and can not eat. However, I will stear clear of the Bocconcini as I have been told by a friend that it does have a slighty higher fat content due to it's immaturity compared to Mozarella???

Who knows - I'm sure they (medical gurus) believed apples were carcenogenic once as well!

But I truly beleive that the small amount I did consume will in no way affect the weight loss. Same as those who have been using Paprika - I mean how much damage can a little spice powder do?

As for your weight loss - Well done! I hope to be in the high loss category. It would make it all pass a lot quicker!

BAM - It will be alright. You said yourself that the cm's are dropping off you. (unlike me!)Unfortunately it is out of our control. All we can do is follow the program and try not to obsess over kilos. You WILL make it. I understand your anxiety/disappointment as we see so many people losing such huge amounts. But it is all relative as well - those who need to lose more weight often lose more quickly in the first few weeks. It all pans out in the end and you will become your old sexy self before you know it! I am concerned that when I go for my weigh in I will be disappointed - but I must stop having expectations. Especially over things I can not control. It will only lead to grief. C'mon girl - you're already 7 kilo's lighter!!! Put a smile on your beautiful face and be proud of what you have achieved so far! I'm proud of you!

Hooroo!

PS- I see Less Fatty is male - you blokes suck! No fair me want fast metabolism too! Well done to you all the same - from bitter old 8-2Much!!!
