Netski: Thanks!! My program says nothing about that. And my consultant has drummed in to me that even the slightest thing, even a natural plant no-carb no-cal sweetener like stevia, is not allowed. I am feeling cheesed that there are updates to the program that I still don't know about. So thank you for your information - I will re-talk to my consultant. I do know from elsewhere, that something in a capsule can be better than in another form - like we can take fish oil but only in capsule form. Much appreciated.

Good morning girls

I hopped on the scale this morning and I was down another 600gms in 2 days!! Yippee I know that I shouldn't be hopping on the scales that often but I couldn't resist to see what was happening.

If anyone is interested Aldi has a weight, water, fat scale on special for $50.

My plan says that its normal not to have a bowel movement every couple of days but I feel that if I don't go everyday I am bloated.

Hi ladies,

you may not know who I am but i used to be addicted to this forum due to being on the program but life is just to busy to post....

I started at 143.00kg's on th 27th of October 2005 and today I weigh 80kg's in a size 14-16 and love it.......

I have done this for my children we nearlly lost my 15mth old son in october last year and i was to big to flught with him on childflight..... this has been a huge lifstyle change and all for the better..

anyway keep up the fantastic work everyone just remember don't forget to drink your water and don't break.... I had 1 peace of bread 3 weeks ago and i had not lost anyweight for 2 weeks after it is not worth the break so don't do it.

Hi Moni
I was wondering what happened to you. I have read over pold posts on the forum. Well done, you have averaged 10kg a month. Are you doing any exercise? You must be so wrapped to be 80kg. What ws the longest platau you faced during the past 6 months?

Moni...

Moni you are my inspiration to know you have achieved that within 8 months you must feel excited. I would personally love to see a before and after shot.

As you can see by my ticker i have a hell of a long way to go but by getting on the scales and seeing 3kgs down has really motivated me!!!

Goodwork and goodluck moving the next 14 kgs.. keep us all posted

Week 1

Hi all!

YAY! I have lost 3kg in my first week - woo hoo! I've also lost 6 cm of my waist!! And I've managed to find this relatively smooth sailing so far - its got me organised, on track, its great!!!

Anyway, keep up the great work everyone!!!!

Hi all - re-feed still going well. Almost overnight those nasty 4kg came off, so it was just a little blip... I will now be finished on Sunday so looking forward to a brave new post-Cohens world from next Monday!

Moni - good to hear that you are back on the forum. I too found your story and success an inspiration! Congratulations on your progress so far.

Lizzi - great news about your weight loss picking up again. So it was your thyroid... good that you have identified the cause. So sweet of your brother to send that card. My family is also interstate and when I caught up with my brother recently, he had put on the 20 kilos that I have lost! How funny! He said he will join the gym to get rid of the weight, and scoffed at Cohen's but who knows, he might end up on this forum!

Kim_j01 - it was ME who stacked on the weight overnight. But it was gone again a day or so later. The human body is funny! You are zooming along too - nearly there. Keep up the great work!

Newbies - congrats on joining the revolution.

Enough from me - have a great weight losing rest of the day!

Kim_j01 - I had only looked at your ticker when I wrote my post, which shows a massive loss. Then I took the time to properly read your post and I see you've been a naughty girl! So sorry if my message doesn't make sense! I'm sure you're back on the wagon again. You're a winner - keep up the great work!

Hey everyone,

Just found out about Cohen's in the last few days and called up today and will be attending an information session on monday morning.

In the mean time I'm trying to find out as much as I can about the program, in particular what one would eat on a regular day?..some sample daily eating plans would be greatly appreciated!

About a year ago I went on Optifast and lost quite a bit of weight...that all back now! it seems the minute i saw food again i lost it. So Im hoping to achieve similar weight loss results with Cohen's, and Im hoping that the difference here will be that im actually eating food and not just drinking shakes so that when it comes time to start eating normally, I dont freak out again!

So hi everyone :p Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

On the bowels topic. My consultant said it is fine if I take no sugar metamucil in the normal powdered, add to water form. I have always been chronically constipated anyway and so this was a big concern to me. I take it twice a day but most people wouldn't need to do that. I too find the tea too explosive and painful for me, so this and plenty of water seems to keep things happening reasonably well.

Good luck to those of you trying to find something suitable I am envious of those who are used to going everyday! If only...... LOL My record pre cohens was 14 days. Not very comfortable by the end of that time I can tell you! I am pleased to say cohens has not caused anything like that episode!

hey everyone, yes i am a newbie.

i have been on every weight loss plan avaliable and can now see that cohens has a success rate second to none

i went to the information session on tuesday evening and had already made my mind up to join the cohens diet due to a friend havind success on the program. i had my blood test this morning. I now just have to wait until the results com back so i can start the program.

I have read so many positive things about cohens that i am so positively exicted about starting that its no longer funny! i know its going to be difficult but with the support i have been receiving from my mate who is alreaddyon the program and the help from this forum i know i can do anything.

Anyway i will keep you all updated as to what happens.

Good luck to everyone,

Juzz

Questions on Cohens

I am based in the UK and heard about Cohens through a friend in Australia...there is only one consultant in the UK and as yet they have not returned my phone call...To find out if this program is for me can you give me some more details? No where on this chat site or the official site does it mention the cost (impt!), and what is involved?
Many Thanks!!!
G.:)

A warm welcome to all the new people - amazing how many there are. I suppose we are having a world wide epidemic when it comes to weight issues, so it is tremendous! This can be life-changing for you.

To all the other posters - thanks for the info, appreciated your input the old me, really good to hear from you all and how you are all doing. Keep strong! Thanks for the encouragement moneypenny.

Moni: So great to have you post!!! I was wondering what was happenning to you. Always you have done so well, but I also enjoyed your positive posts and your water reminders. Seems you have caught me up and will be there in no time (if you stay off the bread!) Was also wondering about Mel and Cryss and healthymum and others. Hope they are all on track.

It is just nice to know that people who start so well, and who you begin to get to know, actually get to the end. I bet you are really looking so different. You have lost SO MUCH. You must feel like a different person. And I'm sure you could tell a story or two about how it affects your life and the way others react as well. Those children of yours are going to have one happy Mum! Hope we hear some more from you.

Good morning ladies

Juzzi- You will love this journey the results are quick if you are 100% committed. Has your friend kept all the weight off after her program? Does she watch everything she eats?

Gemma - The program in Oz is around $695. I am sure the consultant will call you shortly.

I am addicted to this forum so I am always checking for new messages. I lost another 400gms over night. Yippee!!!!! I have already gone down a size in less than three weeks.

Hi everyone and welcome all you newbies!

Just letting all you newbies know that the headaches, hunger, joint pain, peeing etc. will all pass. The best thing is to drink more water and flush them away! They will disappear quite quickly so just take it as the change is doing its job. The cold, it just hangs around forever, so start wearing more clothes, I can't believe how much my clothes priorities have changed, I am becoming more discriminating when I shop and warmth plays a big part in that. I have even resorted to two doonas on the bed, but must admit I am really toasty now. Food is mainly fresh fruit and vegies and chicken and red meat, a bit of cheese and yoghurt. Each person is allocated different weights according to their blood tests. There are no shakes or synthetic anything. Your body has probably never had it so good!

ICIW you are doing really well. What sort of scales have you got? They obviously measure in 100g intervals. Thanks for the tips about Sara Lee, I am not a good explorer of the supermarket so I like to hear others ideas.

Lizzi, "Hope you drain the water before you weigh?" LOL. And here was I trying to work out how I could wring more moisture out of the asparagus so that it would weigh less. I am going to try it with fresh asparagus and see how that goes, though I am not sure why because I feel uncomfortably full when I have had my soup. Must admit though that I am looking for the fruit within the hour. It's is good to hear that we actually do have different plans. Apart from the number of bickies and fruit I hadn't seen much evidence of individuality.

PinkVirgo how are you going? Have you been reading about Lizzi and her thyroid? I was thinking last night that maybe you should get yours checked if you haven't already. Just from Lizzi's experience if no-one mentions it then it can be overlooked.

Carissa, I know those feelings esp. when you are driving home from work. I was thinking (as I drove home from work) that it was not so long ago that if I was having such hard weeks at work as I have been, then I would have been going home to eat my way through the night, and if there was nothing in the pantry to fill the need I would stop off at the supermarket and stock up on the chocolate and chocolate biscuits. I wonder and am amazed at how much I have changed in this journey.

Hey Tasm82, I've got a name for your hubby HOT (Husband Of Tasm82). You know that they say that the men lose quicker than us ladies. Not fair!

Kim j01, Your work colleagues must be impressed if they are now joining you on the program. You know I think that you don't have to worry too much about the consultant says because you have already said it to yourself. Just be open and honest with them and accept their support. I know that 20-30K seems a awful lot to go esp. when you have already achieved this much but hang in there and give yourself every chance this is the LAST time you ever want to do this. Imagine in twelve months looking back.

Ridi great to hear that you are moving in the right direction.

Moneypenny, that was some learning experience, esp. learning not to panic and just trust the plan. Let us know how the new world is. maybe you are going to be the first on ICIW's Life after Cohen's thread. Look forward to following your progress. I already have the link in my favourites list.

Moni, you were one of the original people who inspired me to join this forum. Thank you because I have found a wonderful support system and without them I would be really floundering.

hello cohenenettes

I am so excited. I am at week 6 and today when I did my weekly weigh in I am under 120kg. I started at 133.4kg so this is great to have a 13.5kg loss but to see the scales sit at 119.9kg this morning just put a smile of my face from ear to ear. The last time I was this weight is when my youngest child was born and she is 11.5years old......

Another mini goal of mine is here in WA, private hospitals do not have to admit you if you are over 120kg and that has always worried me so I have been using this as incentive to get below. NOW they have to TAKE ME.......
(LOL grinning like a little kid) Yeehaaaa.....

Off to down some more water.......

Have a great day, Julie in Geraldton.

Hey Jam, congratulations. Enjoy your day 'cause tomorrow you will be even less. What a wonderful feeling!!!

Hope your wrinting it down somewhere so that you can come back and recognise these huge milestones.

In case I don't get back, Happy Mother's Day to all Mums, even those who celebrated last week! (freaked me out for a minute). Hope your kids do something really nice for each of you - a big hug and a special grin will do me fine!

Trying to get Hubby (HOT) to join

Jude was a very good name for hubby.... sending him the link this morning for him to have a gander at.

Day 5 4kg down... so far so good. hopefully my measurements will move on sunday... i have decided to only move my ticker every monday... don't want to get too excited!!!

We have tried some recipes from the cohens website...
- Tuna Mornay Hubby said wasn't too bad (i don't like tuna)
- Salt & Peper Squid really nice we added prawns to it as well.
- Thai Chilli Prawn Cakes and Tomato Salsa having for lunch will let you
know how it tastes ;)

Good Luck and continue your loses!!!

Hey Guys!

Can you believe it's nearly the end of DAY 10 REFEED!!!

I am in shock at how quick the days go by.. time really does fly when your losing weight!! ;)

Well...there has been a few little drama's in my tummy area over the past 2 days, so much so I came home from work early yesterday & am home today nursing an aching tum. I'm not sure if it's to do with the refeed (introducing pear, banana & strawberry)?? But I'm certainly not well enough to go to work, so that's not flash. There have been a few tummy bugs in the office, maybe it's one of them?? Hopefully by the end of the day I'm back feeling ok??!! (It's SO hard making myself eat at the moment, tummy pain isn't a hunger stimulant! )

Jude - My scales are just cheapy ones from KMart brand -"Homemaker", they are circle shaped & have "dimples" on the part where you stand - have no idea why they are on there, serves no purpose that I can see??? They are great as they are sensitive & go up in 100gm increments. :)

I wish someone from the other side of the lifestyle program would share what life is like after cohen's....PLEASE!!!! I have been looking out for a post from you all..... would mean a lot to many people, please consider joting in something.... the link is http://weight-loss.fitness.com/showthread.php?t=3325

Ok Day 10 has been ...well interesting!! -

Add New Protein (I can mix proteins as well & 5 hour rule no longer applies)
Add more Veg
2 new Fruits
3 Slices Bread - NO WAY!!!!-not for me
low fat milk

Will have lamb tonight, that I am really looking forward to. You know, it's the 'REAL FOODS' I have craved - not so much the 'junky' types. I have now noticed that I look for more food to eat if I have an apple at the end of the day....has anyone found apple does this to them??

I have 6 Days to go on refeed.................maybe I might be the first posting on the 'Life After Cohen's Forum' ;) Moneypenny - how long have you got to go now??

Kim_j01 - You're lovely!! No need to apologise, I had a chuckle as I am so confused too...HOW MANY POSTS!!!! - Gotta love this place & the gorgeous people who keep it alive!!

Everyone, I wish I could reply to each one of you, but it's getting a bit difficult!! Please know I LOVE reading your posts & being apart of such a intense part of your lives XXX Thank you. Success is just around the corner, grab it with both hands, you deserve it...Oh & that nice top you've always eyed off at the Mall!! :p
