I have started!!!

Hi all,

You all sound like you have had some great success early on...this is very encouraging. I am on day two of the diet, and am very hopeful and feeling certain that I can stick it out. So I had this headache that people have talked about lastnight, but woke this morning feeling refreshed and headache free...hope it doesn't come back.

I am a mum of two, I have a 5yo girl and a 1yo boy, between these two we had a little boy premature that isn't with us anymore.....for which I suffered the hell that is emotional eating (and other behaviour) and a pregnancy where I piled on the weight. But enough is enough, time to take back some control of my life and get on with it.

My start weight is 83.3kg and goal weight is 67-70kg. I will be completely wrapt with 70kg.....been a while since I weighed that. It is quite hard for me to admit my weight and being overweight (I am quite a proud and private person). Up until a few years ago I was a fitness and health freak...how things changed....but like I said, it is time to take control.

Wish me luck, I am so glad that there are people out there that can offer such constructive support. Thank you to you all!!

I've just been reading over everyone's posts as I haven't had a chance to lately and I just wanted to say a big congrats to all of the weight loss. It's amazing to see how much everyone has lost :D

Well last night I had my graduation ceremony from college. It was very boring :p and I had to have my photo with Sarina Russo herself but I'm so very glad I'm now 13.4kg (yes I cant believe it :D ) lighter than before. I think with the weight loss I was a little more confident to have my photo taken. After the ceremony, my boss took me out to dinner. She knows I'm on the diet and she is supportive so she took me to a nice place on the Queen St Mall (I guess only people from Brisbane will know where I'm talking about lol) and suggested I order a nice grilled chicken salad without the dressing. I ate the chicken and a little bit of lettuce and told myself I wasn't really hungry anymore and so I just left the rest. I weighed in this morning and lost a little overnight so I'm hoping t didn't make too much of an effect on my diet. Seeing as I'm so tired right now, I am dying for a coffee but I cant stand it without milk:(

Ridiculous,
I lost 10kg in my first month but I highly doubt it will be anywhere near that this month :(

Pink Virgo,
A big congrats to you ! I knew you could do it! Just stick it out, it's so worth it.:D

Hopeful1,
What you did with spitting out the chocolate was a very brave thing to do. Just look at the self control you have learnt from this diet. I don't know about you, but before Cohen's I would have scoffed down that chocolate bar. As for temptations, my work is always having yummy cakes for morning tea and when I set up the boardroom for meetings, I have to arrange a small platter of chocolate biscuits for the guests and anything left over goes to the staff. Also, my brother is the biggest take away freak so I constantly need to smell McDonalds:mad:

I Can I Will,
Congrats ! You should be so proud ! You've done so well !:D

Sorry about the long post hehe:eek:

It is a lifestyle!

Congratulations everyone on your awesome weight loss!

Hi Frog,

Welcome. Just passing on a perspective. When I started, I too called my eating plan a diet. And one of the other members of this forum reframed my thoughts and called this a lifestyle.

I have only been on the eating plan for 9 days and am learning that it is indeed a lifestyle - a commitment to follow a plan, weigh the ingredients and prepare the food, drink lots of water and stay strong in the face of temptations (kim_j01 your strength in the face of temptation is admirable. You're my role model.).

And knowing that every day, my body responds to the care and attention I give it through eating healthy and healing food. Over time it will give up the excess weight. The plan has worked for others and it will work for me.

Thanks hopeful1, I do agree that it is a lifestyle.

Day 3, wow, lastnight was hard. I had to prepare my family dinner, there I am making lasagne for them all and I am having my beef stirfry :( . But that is ok, I held strong and didn't taste a thing and stuck to my guns. But there were plenty of temptations. I went and brushed my teeth and that evening snacking idea was completely 'kyboshed'.

Had a headache again as well....this was not nice, had to go to bed....which isn't a bad thing as can't be tempted while I am asleep. It is breaking those habits that is particularly hard. Evenings are when I would graze....but not now...time for a lifestyle change!!

Goodluck everyone!

Well the scales seemed to be stuck most of the week and I was starting to get annoyed... But this morning - an overnight loss of 1.3kg takes me to 71kg!

ONLY 5 MORE KILO'S UNTIL RE-FEED!!!!!

I am so excited! Instead of focussing on my goal weight, at this stage I am breaking it down in to smaller increments. Just hanging out to get to re-feed so figured that once I could count the number of kg to go on 1 hand, I was nearly there. I can do that now with only 5 more to go!!!

Keep up the focus and determination girls - temptation is always there, but the feeling of success tastes so much sweeter!

Finally got to weigh myself and change my ticker. 1/2 a kg off 1st goal but thats nothing. Huge congrats to everyone else on their successes.

Great work

L-jay Congrats on result. Its nice to see that you are doing so well.

Moneypenny You have just melted girl! What an impressive result. You could be a Cohen's pinup girl I reckon. Well done.

Pink Virgo, finally those scales behaved themselves and showed how you were really doing! LOL Fantastic result.

In fact well done everyone your weight loss is outstanding. Lets all be very proud of ourselves.

Hey ladies - been away hanging my head in shame from my little binge th eother day! All is well now and I'm fully back on track and I can feel the weight melting off me!
My husband has confiscated the scale (I was getting obsessive)
So I wont be changing my ticker for 12 days which is when I go in to the clinic for a weigh-in.
Pink Virgo - I'm sooo happy for you that the scales moved down so much - you have been so patient with you rweight-loss that is was bound to pay off sooner or later! WELL DONE!
And Moneypenny - how exciting for you - only 5kgs away from re-feed! YAY!
I'm home today looking after my sick little bubba (teething - BLOODY AWFUL CONSTANT SCREAMING) but it beats being at work. I think I might quit my job soon and just be a mummy! (A yummy mummy I will be if I stick to this diet!!)

Lotsa luv Minxy xx

Howdy ladies!
Well done Moneypenny! You are doing fantastically! You are a success story!
Welcome back to the Wagon Minxy!

Well, week 3 is drawing to a close for me - can't wait til Saturday so I can do my own weigh-in and measuring! Hopefully I've lost more than my 1/2 a kilo from last week.
I'm so used to this diet now that it doesn't even feel like I am doing anything. I have my complete routine down pat, and it is all working very smoothly. Although, I do have to say that with this ridiculously cold weather Melbourne is having at the moment, a latte would go down very well!
I need to up my water a bit. I've only been having 2 or 3 lts a day this week, but because it's so cold, I'm really struggling! I need to focus.

Good work to everyone, and to Frog for joining us all on the wagon!

Bella

Thanks for all you amazing people. And a special thanks to Tash* and i CaN i WiLL for your encouraging comments, they mean a great deal.

Haven't got a lot of time this morning but it has been a few days and I wanted to touch base with you all. You all seem to be going so well. Glad things are moving PinkVirgo - 'bout time, hey? Today is your day Tash* for weigh in, hope it is refeed time! hopeful1 I love the tale of the chocolate - sensational determination. And Tash* I would love the ingredients of the spice rub if you get a chance.

SO MANY OF YOU are doing well, and moving closer. Be really pleased with yourself and proud of your achievement. This seems to have been a very good week or two for people, so keep going, and I look forward to hearing more of these courageous tales of real life heros, battling a world wide epidemic. Put like that our weight loss attempts really mean something, don't they??!!!

Got to go, have a great day,
lizzi

Lizzi - I just saw your post and noticed your ticker. Your weight loss has been EXTRAORDINARY! I can't believe you have lost 55 kilos! Wow and only 22 kg to go! You must be so proud of yourself! I think that is excellent!

It has been really wet here, raining for about the last 3-days non stop. Yesterday I was visiting my neighbour and walking down the wooden ramp from her door to the driveway (in the rain) and I slipped and fell. I have really hurt my neck, lower back, shoulder and elbow but at the same time, I hate to think how badly I would have been hurt if I was still weighing 85kg. On my frame, that is a lot of weight and with that much force behind me, I think I might have done some serious damamge! As it is, I'm going to the Osteo this afternoon to try and get an adjustment, but I wanted to tell you all about it because there is a message here for all of us. Not only are we trying to lose weight to feel better / look better, but the effects on our health and wellbeing are more significant than we might realise on a day-to-day basis. We should all be so very proud of ourselves for what we have achieved, no matter how close or far we are from our goals at the moment.

Anyway, enough philosophising for me... Have a great Friday! Stay strong and keep up the awesome work!

Question - any shift workers on Cohens??

hi all,

am new to this website, and thinking of doing Cohens. I have attended the info session and a friend has started. I wondered if anyone out there is a shift worker and how they have found it? I work 10 hour shifts two days on two days off etc and sometimes they are night shifts.

any experiences or suggestions??

Lizzi - 55 kg lost. Wow! You must look like a new person. How long did you take to lose the weight?

Moneypenny - 5 kg to refeed. Congratulations on coming this far. Sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you have no lasting injury.

Welcome back on the wagon Minxy and welcome to HMP and PositivE

Looks like our group keeps growing. I think we need a bigger wagon because there are more of us, even though we individually occupy less space over time.

Have to travel overseas later in April on business. I have no idea how to maintain my eating plan with my upcoming work schedule. I don't want to become obsessive about my lifestyle, but this really is a blow to my weight loss.

Any ideas on how to keep on Cohen's while travelling appreciated.

The good news: I am using a new blouse today that was tight around the tummy when I bought it. It fits me well now.

2 weeks later

Hi,

Just a little message to let you know that i've lost 6,6 kg's after 2 weeks!

To the new ones, just think: they can, so I can!

Thanks for this inspiring forum!

Niracca

Refeed On Its Way!!!

Hi All,
Well the weigh in went fantastically!!! Thankyou so much to those who gave words of support - especially Lizzi....
I would have liked to have been at 65, but my consultant was absolutely stoked by my loss (4.22 kgs in the last two weeks), and said that I am well into my goal weight range, and yes, it's definitely time to order the refeed!! YAY!!! I should hopefully be able to pick it up on Tuesday, before I go away for Easter, hopefully I might be able to add a few things into my eating while I'm on holiday!!! :p

Well done Niracca - 6.6 in 2 weeks is a fantastic result!! Are you feeling much different yet??

Welcome to all the newies, good luck and you will definitely get loads of support here!! PinkVirgo - glad the scales are starting to move for you!! Yay!!

Hope you all have a great weekend, will hopefully post some details about the refeed while I'm away and Lizzi I will try to post the recipe for that spice rub if I can find it!!!

Tash xox

PS Tried some of that slimmers tea last night (thought might give myself a bit of help before the weigh in!) and OH MY GOD... I was up half the night with some serious abdominal pain - much better when it was all out (couldn't believe that there was that much in there...ewww!!), but I don't know how those of you having it regularly cope!!!!

On the subject of slimmers tea, was the stomach cramps realy bad, and do you think its worth the pain?? I would be interested in knowing peoples views on this. Thanks.
