My head hurts....

I was told I will have a headache, but today has been bad!!!!!

Can we have ANY FORM oh headache tablets????

So, I have had 2 out of my 3 meals for today!!!

Breakfast was a little un-eventful. Just had my Yoghurt with mandarins...

Tania, I took your idea for Lunch, but instead I had a mixture of ricotta and mozzarella cheese, which I toasted under the griller…VERY YUMMY!!!!

Dinner will be my chicken and veggie meal…

Do you know if we can have lemongrass???? It is a veggie/herb…

Cheers gayegel, managed to go to the shops without buying a Latte or a dessert…

Last night I took those BEFORE pics…can I just say eeew!!!!
My mum always calls me Bart Simpson cause of my bloated belly!!!! Yesterday, I slipped on my jeans and can I say I have major muffin top! I’ll definitely be keeping a before photo in my wallet to avoid those slip-ups!

Hope everyone is tracking well today!!!:)
Talk to you soon!!!!

It's monday Again!!

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend.
I am feeling a bit lost today, I booked my youngest into Day Care once a week for something specail for her. This is the first time I have ever been alone for the whole day without kids, Since before my eldest son. I have four kids aged 8,6,5,3. I almost cryed - sounds silly I know.

Well cohen's is going great for me, a few times I've been tempted but I saw it through. I find it harder if we get a movie or watch tv at night, so I am going to save my crackers and fruit for after tea tonight.

Had a great fruit smoothie on the weekend - 1/2 honeydew allowance + 1/2 orange. Mix in blender. Add ice and a touch of water, mix together!
Also if I'm running late - which is normal lately - I have honeydew with my yoghurt and its tastes quite nice. I hated the natural yoghurt at first but the honeydew seems to soften the taste.

Hope you all have a great week, and congrats to Miss Kath, Well done. I can't wait to go shopping when I hit my goal weight!

Mitmary:)

Hey Guys,

Just got back from brisbane, didnt do too badly. Didnt Deviate!!! So Proud!! But at the same time didnt lose any weight.... I have so far lost 6 kgs which, considering i have been on the program for just over a week, i dont think thats a bad result!!

Havent measured myself so dont know if i have lost centimeters or not... i think i will wait til the end of week 2 and see if there are any major differences.

sunshine - yeah loving the idea with the mandarins. i have only been eating 2 as my fruit allowance, but i guess if you get the smaller ones it would equal one medium fruit. looks like i can buy more of them tomorrow!!

tania - thanks for the idea for breakfast. Might try the paradise lights, tomatos and the mozzarella cheese. i dont like the natural yogurt stuff very much so i am trying to stay away from it as much as i can.

Oh ang a BIG thanks to everyone who commented on my nausea, was good to know that i wasnt the only one who has experienced these issues with Cohens and the support from everyone was great!! No way i am going to quit!! Thankfully i have been feeling better, hopefully i am over the worst of it now.

Best of luck ladies, at the start of another successful cohens week!

Juzzy

Cohen's in North America

It seems like Cohen's is out of Australia, although the site mentions that Dr Cohen has worked with colleagues in the US, Europe, etc.

Any advice for those of us in California? Anything similar available here?

(sorry if this has already been answered--couldn't get through the 1900+ posts in this thread)

Question and Hello

Hello Sunshine :D !!! Glad to see you've found the forum - great isn't it?!

To all the newbies - welcome to the program!! Stick with it, its worth it. And WOW to everyone's successes. And to all those who've had some struggles, well done to making it through.

Now, I've a couple of questions - does anyone know if we can have dandelion tea? It's got no caffeine and its not a fruit extract tea..... I've always found it a great substitute for coffee. I've been having some, but thought I'd better check.

And the next is not really a question but.. yesterday, Monday, I finished work at 8.30am after a night shift, but had to extend work to 5.00pm (I work in a crisis service). I had had my last meal at around 7.30am and didnt eat until I got home. I was obviously in need of sleep so I decided to have a meal at around 6 and went to bed after, sleeping for 13 hours!!!

It couldn't be helped but I do wonder what impact this may have....

Any way hope everyone has an excellent day!!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks heaps for the replies in relation to the mandarins... I have been having 4 small ones over the last couple of days and the scales haven't gone up so it's all good... they're so sweet and lovely! Hmmm hmmm hmm..

predebeo - as far as I know, Cohens only has an office in Massachussets (did I spell that right?) but they have a site where you can register interest and they may be able to help you out

Juzzy - Way to go you for not deviating in Brisbane..... I knew you could do it! Where there's a will, there's a way... so proud... SO PROUD! Where's your ticker young lady?

Ready To Lose - Your ticker movement is amazing... YOU GO GIRLFRIEND... that's awesome! Also, in relation to going to sleep after you've eaten... I've done it twice now and hasn't effected the scales... and a couple of times, due to being unable to coordinate things, I have had to eat every 3 hours instead of 5.. and the scales didn't move then either. So if you only do it once in a while, i don't think it's going to matter in the grand scheme of things. And hell... 13 hours sleep can only do wonders for your HGH levels huh????

You know, in the whole time i've been on Cohens.. I haven't touched yoghurt once! Is that bad? Does anyone else hate yoghurt as much as I do? I'd rather have an egg and mushies or cauliflower and cheese for breakfast!

Flutterbies

Okay, here's a description of how i'm feeling about tonight, which is my first information session at cohens. Shaky knees, butterflies in my tummy and i think about it every second. I think it's a mixture of anxiety & excitement. Anxious cause i'm afraid i'm gonna stuff this up again and i'll be paying hundreds of dollars for it, excited cause it might be the one that works and if i lose enough weight quickly enough it might keep me motivated.

I know, blah blah blah. think i'm just self counselling. Just talking it through to myself.

Was anyone else this nervous? Sometimes i question whether i actually want this or not. Shouldn't i be over the moon excited. I think i'm afraid of another disappointment, something i can't sustain. Boo hoo, woe is me:(

One thing that is encouraging is the number of posts in this particular weight loss forum. Obviously popular.

 Don't know....i'm a scaredy cat

Hello, this is my first week on Cohens I have lost 3kg.
Can anyone tell me how you do your weight scale, I've tried but can not get it to work.

Chrissy

First official weigh in

hello ladies,

My first official weigh in today - according to the clinic's scales I've lost 9 kilos!! Yay!!! I'm not going to move my ticker until tomorrow - keep in sync with my own measurements, but I'm pretty happy with that!! :D

And I confirmed that dandelion tea is a-ok to have, and that I basically did the right thing on Monday when I had my huge shift extension.

Anyway - Tasm82 - glad you are back on track, especially after what you've had to deal with - what a woman!!!

great day to all!!

Third week

Morning all

Firstly.... Mumbine - don't be nervous. Be excited. You are entering a new phase of your life, and never will you be fat anymore. Some words of newly gained wisdom.... you have taken however long to put the weight on, it doesn't drop off overnight. It takes some guts and glory to get through any eating plan. With Cohens... it's wonderful and IT WORKS! The first week is the hardest, and after that it's just managing it. You may deviate, but just remember each deviation will show on the scales ( i know... i have done it ).
Don't be afraid of not finishing it... cause if you are going to the meetings with the mindset that this is your final diet.... you don't have any choice but to finish it. If you do fall off the wagon.... jump straight back on again. Don't beat yourself up.. but do learn from it.
Geeezzzz.... enough of me already!!! This is a wonderful program... I had tried jogging 5 times a week, no carbs, no fat etc... nothing worked, or if it did I couldn't sustain it. This is working great! This is the last diet I am going to be on forever more!
Good luck with it all. We will be waiting for your progress posts.

Well done to each and every one of you. You are all doing so well. I can't believe that

Tasm82 - well done. Off the wagon and straight back on again. You are an a legend. Keep up the great work. The results are worth it aren't they!

Sunshine - the yoghurt is gross!!!! I have tried it and have struggled with it. Although... I love mango smoothies, so I am trying that tomorrow morning. Paid an arm and a leg for a mango, but will mix with yoghurt and diet lemonade and give that a whirl. If it's crap... back to biscuits, tomato and cheese for breaky!!

Juzzy... you are an absolute trooper!!!!! can't believe you were away and did so well. I struggle every day and you were away and did it! Well done. You are an absolute legend.

Mitmary - well done and keep up the good work. The proof is in the pudding (or lack of it!)

Excitement, fat loss here i come !

Ready to lose: your post has made me even more excited about the cohens thing. I signed up!!! Congrats on such an amazing result. You must be feeling it in your clothes already. in the past i have found that a 10kg loss is equivalent to about 1/2 - a full dress size. Way to go!

Tania: Thanks so much for the words of encouragement...i believe now it will be the last time i 'diet'. I'm sick of this 40+kg hanging around....(my thighs, bum, tummy, etc. etc.) Thanx.

The prospect of starting on Tuesday (program pickup) is a little scary but i feel the pay off will be huge (or i'll be smaller). Whichever way you look at it, it's exciting. I think the consant loss will be such a motivator.

Thanks to everyone for being so inspirational, managing to keep going despite all the problems that crop up is amazing. :D

Thanks again for all your updates and inspiration, you'll hear from me soon

I'm looking forward to making friends in this forum. I'm gonna need it and there's nothing like supporting each other along this journey that's gonna get us there. I'm even considering posting an initial photo cause i know how inspiring those before and afters are. I intend to be an after this time:

Good luck to everyone, may the fat not be with you:eek:

Thinking positively

Hi just a quick note to welcome all the new people who are just starting out on this journey. I have been on Cohen's for several months and have better weight loss than ever before with any other program and believe me, like lots of the other Cohenettes, I have tried every diet known to woman! I have deviated badly once and mildly several times and let me tell you it DOES count and it WILL set you back, apart from anything else if you feel that you "got away with it" you are more likely to keep doing it . Its really frustrating to take 2 weeks to lose what you had already lost. Anyway. I have renewed my commitment and am trying very hard to not even nibble things which aren't on the program. I have even bookmarked the Life After Cohen's forum so that it will inspire me to join the posters there ASAP.
Take it one day at a time and just keep on doing it, it will be sooooooo worth it. Good luck everyone. :)

Had a bad day!

Hi Everyone!!

OOOoooh, my day was bad!!!! I just felt for everything under the SUN!!!!

Too be honest, most of my day was ok, but I was craving a latte, but landed up getting a black coffee, with a bit of froth on the top! NAUGHTY NAUGHTY!

Then, after having the BIGGEST headache I have ever had (I still have it!) I came home to prepare my fish and veggies meal, I had a tsp of Custard that was in the fridge, a few nuts to nibble on....Then I made milk tea, but after having half a cup I am just staring at and I am feeling sooooo guilty!

I really didn't want to deviate and I feel like I have and I am so mad with myself!

Hi girls I hope I am getting my life back in order I have an appointment with my Cohens girl tomorow my Dee Why clinic was closed I never made it there anyway about an hour and a half away but this clinic which has opened is about 10 minutes away which is just great for me, so I am hoping to get the encouragement I need to get started again. But I was told if you are off the program more then 2 months they won't order your refeed, well I am hoping thats not the case.

I know I eat for comfort but how do stop after so many years of doing it, after my friend died, my relationship ending after 10 years and my son-in-law getting lymphoma all in 8 months reaching for food seems so normal to me.

I guess all I can do is try, so will do more posting and try and stay stress free if that is possible. take care Diannne

Really Struggling

Hi All

Just been catching up with the posts. Well I recived my program and set about to start ... and have been lacking serious energy every day along with massive headaches. I felt sick and tired and to be honest never got anywhere with Cohens. Then today - well this afternoon i got my period and things made sense. I have been pre-menstural ... never a good time to start a diet. I am hoping today was the last of it all and that tomorrow will be a better day. Just wanted to know if anyone else has been affected in terms of energy etc when you get your period.

Also another big question. Just wondering if ppl could maybe post there stats eg when they started cohens, start weight and current weight. Am interested to see how much ppl have lost without skimming over old posts as it hurts me eyes.

Ciao My Bellas

My loss so far

To answer your question Dilfizzle, I started Feb 18 this year and was 93.3 on start day, I am now 77. I have deviated a couple of times though, so my loss could have been about 2 - 4 kg better if I had stuck to it 100% . Good luck with yours.

Hi all.

I read all the new posts daily, but don't post too often. It is so inspiring to see all the progress. I had a rough first two weeks, and my energy levels were very low. Also have been very light headed. I am now at 2 and a half weeks, and am starting to feel wonderful. Really getting into the routine of it all. I am starting to feel a difference in my clothes which is exciting, but I will have to wait for my weigh-in (at 4 weeks) to see what the scales have to say.

I must say, I was truly addicted to jumping on the scales before this. But because I gave my husband my word that I would not weigh myself untill weigh-in day, I had to relax about the scales. It has been very liberating and I feel as if I obsess less about the diet.

By the way, what is the address of the "Life after Cohen's" forum?

Hope you guys are doing very well, I am cheering you along.

Ingrid
