Hello I am back

Hello My Fellow Slimmers

I AM BACK. Life took an unexpected turn and a few things went wrong and i decided weight loss just wasnt the priority at that stage and had to put it on the "2 do later" list ... cut a long story short life has returned to some state of "normalness" (is that a word?) and I can get back to doing my stuff ... which has bought me back here to my old favourite weight loss haunt full of fabulous people. I intend to re-start Cohen's w 110% effort and commitment and 110% results. I am happy to say I haven't gained any weight since my first attempt but haven't lost much either, was 73 kilos this morning. I did lose some weight through stress but then started eating calorie laden goodies and put it on again. Mmmm yes I am an emotional eater and it sucks arse.

Anyways a massive BIG HUG for those of you whom looked out for me and wondered about my whereabouts - it constantly amazes me "the kindness of strangers"!! Huge hugs to L-JAY and LIZZIE (OMG LIZZIE : your amazing, i have been reading up on your posts = you go girlfriend)!! And to everyone else your posts have been great reading and very inspiring and impressed upon me the knowledge that I can lose weight and be in control of my eating and eventually like the girl i see in the mirror, so huge thanks and appluases to you all.

Anyway a quick run down of my stats 24 year old female lives in Perth , I currently weigh 73 kilos and my Cohen's Goal WEight is 55 kilos so thats 18 kilos to lose - bring it on baby. I am looking forward to getting to know you all and you are all amazing and inspirational.

Have a great ANZAC DAY!!

Feeling Bad

Hi Everyone,

Don't know what happened...well actually I do.

Had my 8 week weigh in last week (thanks for remembering Lizzie:) ) and was pleased that I weighed in at 69.2 kgs (after breakfast and all).

My consultant said I was not far off re feed and could ring up and order once I am 66kgs - as my goal is 65kgs.

Walked out of there feeling pretty good about myself - and then it all went pear shaped.

Had a latte, had at least 7 or 8 little easter eggs, 2 glasses of wine, another 4 lattes (this has been since last Thursday) and I am back up to 71kgs.

I got cocky - I feel so out of control at the moment. I am feeling so hungry - and as you know - you feel 10 times worse after the 'act'.

After reading all your posts - and great to hear from TAsh and Diamonds.

Lizzie - you are a mentor for a lot of us - your commitment to the program is nothing short of amazing! Thanks for all your advice - I enjoy reading all of it!

I was really good all day today - until tonight whilst I was cleaning up the kitchen - I was packing things away and I couldn't stop until I ate ALL of my daughter's choclotate bunny!!!!!!

What is going on? Once you get the taste for it. I am having 'the tea' as we speak.

I think I need to go to bed now so I don't eat any more.

Feeling tired and just crap.

Happy Anzac Day, be good and I will too!!!

Hi Everyone, sounds like most of you got through Easter without too much trouble, but those of you who didn't just jump back on the wagon and go for it. I only succumbed to ONE hot cross bun and have put the chocolate in the draw for when I've finished as a reward.
Lepa, I would suggest that you pay and join the program and then you will get all the correct info without trying to guess the right things to do by asking questions of the forum. Hope you join us soon. Good luck.
Jude Boy that was some offloading but I'll bet you feel better for it. With the advise from the girls being so honest and good that I recken they should become consultants, they brought a tear to my eye. Keep at it Jude it really is worth the effort. Go girl.
Desperado So sorry they cann't help you at the moment but perhaps you could ask the Dr about changing or going off the medication and then maybe you could join Cohen's. It's worth asking about as it really works.

I seem to have hit a plateau with my weight loss but am sticking to it and hoping to lose some more this week, as last week it seems to have stopped. I guess I just need some kind of boost.

Hope you all enjoy the Anzac break and don't go off the rails.
Cheers.

Hi again.

Dear All,

Hi there! Great to see all your posts! It really does cheer me up and make me feel more motivated knowing there are people out there going through a similar experience to me. I have only told my flatmate I am doing this diet, have had to keep it quiet with all others, couldn't be bothered with the questions and or criticisms.

People have finally started noticing I have lost weight! Yeah! :) Thought they never would!

I weighed myself today and I have lost a little over 5 kg in three weeks, only two kilos to go. :) I will be one kilo off my original target but have decided that 58 is a good weight for me, even though it is one kilo more than the Cohen recommended weigh, however I know I feel great at that weight! So need to get a blood test and get my refeed. Apparently the test can tell if you have 'deviated'!!! Scary!! And they tell you how long you have to be on it. I tell you, it is going to be hard staying with it, it is still very rigid and complicated!

Would appreciate your support. Likely to be another 2-3 weeks on the refeed, but I know it is important so I don't put the weight straight back on like every other diet I have been on! Going to be so hard...but really want to do this, I want this to be the last diet I ever do!

Jam - all the best with the diet, you have taken a really important step!

Ridiculous - Keep up the good work

Carissa - Well done on getting through the engagement party! I very nearly scoffed a whole bowl of Maltesers on Sat night, but managed to stop myself!

I can I will - maybe you have reached the right weight for you, that is why you are hungry! However I have found I have had my hungry days, sometimes you do, see how you are in a few days, and keep drinking the water, fills you up!

Tash - Good luck with the refeed, sounds complicated!

LIzzi - I think I must be on a slightly different version that the rest of you, I found my consultant in the UK on the main Cohen's website but she said my diet is a new one that allows a greater variety of foods, it comes with a silver handbook with information & all the lists of things you can have etc... However think the basic principles are pretty much the same, from what you guys are saying.

Lisa C. - Don't worry about the slip-ups, just get back on the bike, you can only go forward not look back with diets. Each day is another new opportunity to lose more fat!

Gayegel - Well done on getting thruogh Easter! Boy it was hard though wasn't it?

Hopeful - glad things went well on the business trip, sounds good, at least your weight remained stable!

Lepa - well done so far, just keep it up. I was exercising heaps too before and still putting on weight! I was just eating too much to keep up! The good things about this program is that I have had to cut back on exercise cos I am just too tired and hungry otherwise. It has made me realise how important my diet is and that I can't just run 4 times a week and think I can eat whatever I want. Also, I really love to do my weekly run, I really enjoy it and actually have been feeling fitter, strangely despite not running as much! However I would recommend that you get your own program, you will get better results and it may be harmful if you use someone else's program!

Diamonds - congrats on coming back - I wish you all the best!

Kim - have not been dreaming about food but have compiled quite a list of things to eat 'post Cohens'...chocolate cheesecake, lasagne, cappucino, thai green curry with rice, pain au chocolate, the list goes on and on... However it does help to write it down - kind of acknowledges it and then I can move on

Well, everyone enjoy the rest of your week, will be thinking of you all!

Kathy

Good Morning Girls, Happy Anzac Day

To Miss Kath & Kim Thankyou for your posts about the cousins birthday and the bowl of maltesers it is so great to read that other people are going through the same challenges ! Wouldn't it be great if the whole world was on cohens then we wouldn't have to worry about going any where !! I feel myself turning into a bit of a recluse cause it can be so hard to find something that I can eat if i go out with all of my SKINNY friends how did I end up being surrounded by so many skinny people ??????:( [/COLOR]

JudeThankyou for your advice about what to do at the next party I will definately try that and you are so right a month ago I would have been eating a plate piled high with all of the evil evil food

Lisa C & HMPOkay so guys lost it for a little while but you both realised what you were doing and stopped yourself from doing any worse. And the results haven't been too bad, I know that it would be dissapointing but you got back on the wagon you didn't just give up that is an acievement in itself. :)

TashThankyou for all the info on the refeed I really look forward to being able to do it one day not so much for the extra food but because it will mean I am almost there !!

I find some days that I look at myself and think god this weight just isnt moving quick enough but others I am so pleased with how I am going. I am not dreaming about food yet but I have noticed I have been having some very bizarre dreams since I started this program, did anyone else experience this ?

I was trying to explain this forum to some of my friends the other day and to actually describe how much it means to me to have this kind of unlimited support from people who don't even know me. I just want to say thankyou to you all it is you guys who have gotten me through so far...:D

Support....

Hi guys, I was just reading through the posts & noticed Lepa was a bit upset with the level of support.

I wouldn't actually look at anyone's advice/opinion as 'negative' on this forum. The guys here have nothing but the best interests of other's on their minds. Please remember, no matter who we are, we ALL are / have been in depressive states, we all have moved heaven & earth to commit to this program, ourselves & our futures. This is such a worth while program, lifestyle change, that to have wrong information to go by is only harmful to your long term results.

We all want the same thing, don't we? Success, health & happiness.

Just as a reminder ** I started off at a weight of 92kg on a 5' Foot 1" frame....

I am now 54.1kg with a tiny bit more to go. I understand the pain & the feeling of helplessness - the desperation, but with the right info, you can get the best results & feel great !

Good Post

;) Hi All,

Great Post I CAn I Will, as usual you pump us all up,

Thank you All, love this forum to bits!!!!

:)

Lisa

Hey girls, glad to see you're all going so well !
I hopped on the scales this morning to see I am now down to 88.2kg ! WOOHOO ! I'm so happy with my success that I'm always talking about it with friends and co-workers. Infact they're so impressed I have had 1 other co-worker and my best friend join up as well. Isn't it wonderful when you can help others feel just as good:D

I hope everyone had a great day off. I am very much looking forward to the long weekend especially seeing as I'll be camping the whole time with my friends. They all know of the diet and are very supportive but appearantly all they generally eat all weekend is steak, sauasages, fried eggs, bacon along with a whole lot of alcohol. I've told myself I'll be strong and I won't give in. Only time will tell eh lol. Wish me luck girls.

Hi Everyone

I am about to start Cohen's but I haven't had my first appointment yet. I am really excited, but have so many questions to ask & can't wait until then.

I have about 25-30kg to lose, have had a bad time after birth of second baby 11 months ago. Hormone issues - am currently seeing endocrinologist, but no outcome yet. My weight has been slowly increasing over the past months. I was attracted to Cohen's because of the focus on correcting hormones.

However... I am a bit nervous about having to give up my skinny cino's! Is this the case - no tea/coffee/milk? It is the highlight of my day!

Also, restricted quantities, are there any 'free' foods? Is it possible to dine out?

Is it expensive?

I have been on SO many fad diets but I find sticking to them hard as my results are always disappointing. Is there anyone out there who hasn't had a great weight loss? Has anyone regained?

How can you lose so much weight so fast & it all be fat? Don't they say you can only lose .5-1kg/week safely?

It sounds too good to be true!

Would appreciate any comments, thanks.

I'm back!

Hi everyone!

sO MANY new faces and some oldies too!

i've just been on a bit of a "break" we'll call it! today i've read the last 30 pages of posts took me like all day, since i last posted in like.. beginning of march i think! my problem was that my contract ran out, i didn't lose all my weight in time. so basically i had to start again. i've had this new contract for about a month but realy couldn't get back on track .. i went from 83 to 95. eeeeeeeek i hear you all saying "man she went totally out of control," and i did.

but i've just completed day 2 back on the program, and i'm so going for it. i'm going to jump on the scales less, stay in more (not going out as much!!) not hang out with my skinny friends so much (the ones trying to sabotage)

i have found myself kinda hungry, i guess. but i'm sure it's mental. no headaches, but i was a bit cranky at work today!! then i got all upset at my crankiness - hormones just getting back to how they should be i think!!

anyway, one question - where's the chat thing gone? i cant seem to see it on my page here.

post again soon. i reckon these first few kgs will come off pretty quick, cuz i've been gorging on carbs. hopefully see me in the 80s at some time soon!!!

take care all, and great to be back
luv lis :p

How many cups of coffee can we have a day? I just had a thought:D . I am a VERY big fan of the drink V and I was just reading on their website that if you get the sugar free one, it has no sugar (duh Kim:rolleyes: ) and the same amount of caffine as a standard cup of instant coffee.:p

Do you think I'll be able to convince my consultant into allowing me to have it? lol:confused:

Good morning all. Had a great Anzac Day. Went to the dawn service at the Shrine. up at 4, in the city by 5.15, had to walk for miles, but was great to be amongst so many people, in perfect silence as the sky turned pink behind the shrine. And to hear the gun shots, OMG! Home by 7.30 for brekkie. Cleaned the windows inside and out fought the spiders and recalimed my house and managed a walk to the Coles.

I have had the yoghurt (Tamar Valley), and that for me is a big thing. I have never been able to tolerate yoghurt in my life and now I am really enjoying it. Oh. went to the clinic on Monday arvo., told them how I had been feeling and they agreed that I could come in for a "chat" in two weeks. I was also told that they couldn't order refeed unless I reach my goal because it wont work. I let that ride and will challenge it if and when I am really seriously thinking about stopping. Anyway I am well and truly over my downer from last week but I am going to keep track of how I feel because I think this may go in cycles.

Hey Miss Kath well done. Only two kilo to go. Just think that by next month it will all be over.

Tash, thank you for sharing the refeed info. It has given me an insight into what comes next and has made me aware that I will need to plan mentally before going into it. It also shows that we can and will be able to be normal at the end of all this. Hope you had a great holiday anyway.

I know we will always have to "be alert" but at least we will now have the tools to fall back on and not have to pay out hard earned money ever again. My consultant said that you can go back on the program at any time and if you only do it for a week then you don't need to go through refeed again. Looks like a way of life to me.

LisaC and HMP and anyone else who has deviated. I am so in awe of you just having the courage to get back on the wagon, I am not sure I could. With this sort of courage and willpower then I am positive that you will succeed so keep going. Hey Lisa maybe you were doing the sabotage and anti success thing because the end is so close.. Just food for thought.

Kim j01 well done you are a day ahead of me. I did the same this morning and exactly the same weight! How's that!!! Enjoy your camping weekend and just take your fruit, bickies and veges and go for the meat. Have you tried tomatoes, zucchini, mushrooms and onion either in the fry pan or on the hot plate? Yummy!! I've been doing it since my kids were little and we first started camping.

I am catering for my granddaughter's baptism on Sunday. We are having hot casseroles and quiche type things and pasta. I may make a greek salad and put mine aside at the same time. Then I feel that I am having something special (fetta) and if anyone takes any notice then it will look as if I am eating the same as them. I don't have a problem when other people are around, I struggle more when I am home alone.

Lisab - hi. You can go on my "in awe" pedestal as well. What courage, you obviously believe it works.

Gayegel I agree, these girls should be consultants. I got heaps more support from our friends here who were prepared to talk about it with me. And yes I feel wonderful - just shows it was time to shed a different type of fat.

Diamonds - I think you have done a super human effort to go through a rough time and not gain and then come back. Congratulations company is great on that pedestal I have built!

PinkVirgo how are you doing? How is the shift work treating you? You still tired and lethargic?

Hi Amber. My advise is go to the meeting and then make the commitment for yourself. As you can see from all of us it is not easy but it works. We are obviously learning a lot about ourselves along the way. The program is very strict you are given a list of meats veges cheese fruit and bickies all with different weights according to your blood test. This is what you eat nothing else. So no free foods. Coffee is restricted so is diet drinks. There is no alcohol and no milk! You must drink the water. From my experience the success rate is extremely high. As to the cost work out how much WW cost for the weight you need to lose and compare. I have been on the program for seven months now and at $16 a week for WW I believe I am well in front on both the weight lost and money sides.

Hello All,

Jude - you are spot on with the 'sabotage/success' thing...yes so close - but so far! Am fully on the wagon now! Looking to buy some digital scales - anyone got any that they swear by! (the ones you stand on).

Great reading all the posts - Well done Miss Kath - it will be over before you know it!

LisaB Welcome Back! I agree with Jude - awesome effort in getting back into it! You know it works - so good for you! Can I ask a question please? How long after you stopped 'Cohens' eating did it take you to put the weight back on - is it a gradual thing or does it happen as quickly as we lose it? Just a thought as I do get a bit scared that the 'lifestyle change' will be a challenge every day for me!

Just about to start my water...been a bit crazy hectic today. 3 litres here I come!

Bye,

Lisa x

Hi I was told by my consultant about this site. I can't believe there is a huge community of people that are on this diet. I have only been on it for half a week and have 22kg to loose. I couldn't believe how long I had to wait to get my program to me! The consultant told me that I could possiblty loose my weight in 3 months if I still to it 100%. I really am sceptical (but hoping) as in the past I was lucky to loose 0.5kg as i have stuffed up my body.

Everyone seems to be loosing heaps of weight. Is any one exercising? The consultant told me it had nothing to do with weight loss it will only make me hungry. No other diet program tells you not to work out.

How do people cope when they go out, I have a wedding and Christening on Sunday. I don't care about the boose its the food that is so hard to pass up.

Thanks
karol

Hi Everyone - new and old!

Went and picked up my refeed & life after guide today (I still have about 6-8kgs to lose before I start it) - I have put it away so i can't be tempted to start it early. But, it is very different to Tash's. I get a slice of bread on day 3, and by day 7, I can have 2, by day 9, I can have 3. Yippeee! But I've put it away, so that I don't start it early. No point in coming this far if I'm not going to do this properly. But if anyone wants to know something - just ask!
It all does sound very good though! Just keep it at everyone - the refeed looks good!

Jude - you sound so positive. Well done. You are much stronger than you think.

Amber - I agree with Jude. It is an expensive initial cost, but considering what I'd be paying if I was at WW, I think I'm either ahead, or at least breaking even. I was a little confused about your post, whether or not you'd signed up or not, but if you haven't, go to an info evening and watch the presso. That should answer most of your questions. Good luck!

Karol - Hi! And welcome! Look forward to seeing how you progress over the coming weeks! You could absolutely lose that weight in 3 months (Or at least a massive chunk of it!) if you stick to it 100%. In regards to exercise, you'll probabaly find that you won't have the energy to do significant exercise, but I have started going for walks lately. I do find that I get fairly hungry after though. In general though, I'd say that I don't exercise anything like I used to. In terms of going out - there are a couple of posts back further about this. Mainly you just need to take your own, or be very specific in what you order. Or eat before you go! I just try not to go out where I'm not going to be able to have a Cohen's friendly meal.

Good luck everyone! Love the shortweek - can't believe it will be Thursday tomorrow. Almost end of week 6 for me!

Bella

Kimyou can have three cups of coffee a day and if any more must be decaffenated I was wondering about the sugarless V too let me know how you go !

Welcome Karol and Amber, good luck you guys will find the best support right here..

So today I was stuck in a situation where I had to have lunch out it was the first time and I am a bit freaked  I ordered the best thing I could find on the menu which was a warm chicken salad. I ate the chicken, lettuce, green capsicum and tomoto, all of which I can have and I only ate half of it. What I am worried about is that it had some dressing on it which I scraped off but there was still some on it. It wasnt really creamy or anything but now I am really stressing thinking that maybe I have screwed up this is the first time I have had anything that is not in the program...can any one advise if this will muck me up...

Hope you all had good days...

Lepa - non support

 LepaI am really sorry if you thought I was being sarcastic. That was NOT my intention. All I meant was that by you joining the programe you would get the "lifestyle" most suited to you. As much as the support here in the forum is excellent we are all slightly different in what we can and cann't have so by us telling you little bits and pieces it may not be right for you. Everyone here is very supportive and we all help each other.
I too have tried all the different diets and once lost 23 kg on Jenny Craig. I felt and looked good but have gradually put it back on and then some extra as well. I am not one of the fast losers on the programme but it is working and as yet I don't feel like I want to give up. So please, please join up and we can help you all the way. Once again sorry if you think I was offending you, I certainly didn't mean too.

I will be busy over Mon & Tues catering for 269 ladies with lunches and afternoon tea's at our golf club and also a dinner for 200. We are having soup, chicken parmagiana YUMMY or lasagna and salad with apple crumble and cream or fruit salad and icecream. I will just have to stick to the salad and hope the smell doesn't get the better of me. Wish me luck.

Everyone seems to be doing really well. Keep up the good work.
Cheers:D

Life after diet

Thanks everyone for the welcome.

This program is so sticked, and that is why it works! I can already see changes in my body. I keep telling myself that it is only temporary and that in a couple of months I will be skinny and enjoying life instead of dreading it. I look forward to going to bed and waking up the next day to see the results. I used to dread getting up and seeing if I had lost any weight.

I really believe in the science behind this diet. I love the Human Growth Hormone and what it does to the body. People that are successful seem to just do it and not think too much about it. With other diets results were so slow that I lost motivation.

I was wondering if there is anyone who has lost all their weight, done their refeed and eating normally (eg, not having to worry about having an extra piece of bread). What would life after the diet be? What are the people that are maintaining eating in a day?

My goal weight is lower than I have ever been so I don't know how manageable it would be to maintain.

Karol

Hi ladies - long time no post. So today is the big day - I am picking up my refeed at lunch time. I can't wait! I just want this whole thing to be over! Will report back once I know more!
