Evening everyone,
Wow 6 pages of posts to read, this forum is sure growing at an alarming rate. So good to see that so many people are doing this programme and have great successes.

dilfizzle My Cohen's goal weight is 58 to 61kgs but I dont ever remember being that size before so I have put it down as 70kgs, but depending on how easy it is to get there I think I may change it to about 65kgs.
Do you need to fast for more than 1day? Why not give your clinic a ring as they must come across this often. Sounds strange that you would put weight on when youre actually fasting but then do you eat after dark but just not during daylight hours? Maybe that has something to do with it.

Pinky 8484 Sorry to tell you that the 1st place I noticed the weight coming off from was my bust. My bra's are quite puckered in the cups and I'm now doing them up to the last catch instead of the first. Haven/t bought new bra's yet as I want to wait as long as possible.
I have also started taking Metamucil capsules for constipation but it has taken about 2 weeks before it had any effect. I try to take 3 in morning and 3 at night (if I remember). I have also changed my tea to Earl Grey as it has a slight perfume taste and is quite sweet but I only have about 2 or 3 cups per day and find that it really helps.

Mitmary I have to cook cold meat for my families lunches so what I did in the first place was to weigh some raw silverside, roast beef and corned brisket (don't know if the corned bit is allowed but figured that little bit couldn't be too bad, correct me if I'm wrong anybody) and then I weighed it after it was cooked and so now I have the correct weight when I cook a large piece. It is really handy to have in the fridge to have with salad for lunches. I put a dressing I made of Vinegar, lemon juice and sweetener on it, which makes the salad quite delish.

fornight The oil spray that seem's to be a problem for you in singapore can be either canola or olive oil but by using the spray instead of the liquid you are probably not using as much as it is only a fine mist. But I would think that by using only a very small amount it would be okay.

Magic Lea Wow 15kgs in 3 weeks. It's taken me 3mths to lose that much. What the devil are you doing up there in Harvey. Haven't long until your first weigh in, they will be stoked. Keep it up.:)

Love the sound of the Thai Chicken Meatballs, will give them a try for tea tomorrow night. The only thing that has me worried, as in a lot of recipes we use our crispbread allowance and I find that I need them for a snack in the mid morning or afternoon and feel that I would be wasting them in a recipe so will try it first without them and see how they taste.:)

I haven't been able to move my ticker for awhile now but have finished playing pennant golf (we won the final, yippee) and apart from the windup dinner, at which I'm going to ask for a 120gm steak and salad, there doesn't appear to be anything on the horizon that could make me deviate so will be good from now on and maybe I'll be able to move it again.;)

Everyone keep up the good work and congratulations to all the new gals (&guys, if there are any) for taking on the challenge. Any loss is a good loss.

Cheers.:D

Hey,
rjm - yeh i drink the recommended 2 -3 litres per day.. i think i may have a blockage somewhere, better get it checked out!

Hi Everyone,
I use to post quite a few months ago and have been so busy that I haven't had time. I actually started the diet on the 3rd of october 2005 at 90.3 kgs and on the 15th of Feb 06, was down to 55 kgs. Looked a little too thin so up to 57 and that's my weight. All I can say, is stick to it, don't break it and get it off and once you have it's done and you only have to maintain. I also take the Green Slimmers Tea every night to detoxify my system and believe me it works a treat.
I'll try to get time to read through most of the threads and if you look back on them you will see I was there from page 1 and left around page 40 so I have a fare bit of catching up to do.
Have a great day girls,
KEEP STRONG.....ITS WORTH IT.....

Yoo Hoo!!! I am going to scout through all the branches until I find this Pre-packed Tom Yam Soup. I can't wait to use it to make tom yam seafood soup during weekend!!!

Eating Thai was ok thank goodness.

Hi Joysey, nice to see you here again and sooooooooo very close to goal. Well done, hopefully you will be at refeed any day now.

It seems my Thai meal was ok just this once, I chose carefully and basically had a stirfried chicken and greens with a very little sauce and I still lost .5 yesterday. Phew. I feel ok leaving it off my deviation free score after all. I will stop justifying it to myself.

Pink Virgo, I have always loathed any form of sport or excercise, walking has been the thing I disliked least but I still wasn't itching to walk. But over the last few weeks I have often craved a walk. So I am doing it. I am fine, no additional hunger or exhaustion or anything. Mind you I am just walking at a normal brisk pace, not power walking or anything too strenuous. I am very pleased that I can walk up hills without it absolutely killing me . That additional 25 kg I used to carry has made a big difference in my ability to move around more easily. I'll be interested to hear what you end up doing and how it affects you.

Have a good day everyone.

Good to hear from you joysey! I am glad things are going well for you.
You were lucky the old me! I love asian food and the variety of flavours. Yum.
Finally I'm in the 62's! Each small bit counts. The wearing a costume at the beach is getting closer so I changed my ticker accordingly. Love the beach! AND the WARMTH of SUMMER!!
Got to get to work,
lizzi

Pink Virgo

Pink Virgo : Maybe you could try a low impact excercise like Pilates. It's great for flexibility and makes limbs look long and slender. Who doesn't need that? :)

I am a bit ticked off now! I paid my share of consultation fee to engage in Cohen program and I can't stand it when people around you bugged you for free advice. I can give them a general idea that it is low carbs but they will keep on asking to the extent that they want you to tell them all the details!!! You don't have to be a genius to know what they are trying to do! When you refused to do it, they get turned off and said you are unfriendly! What nerve!

Exercise + Fussy Eating

Hiya Everyone!

Thanks for your words of support after my little "blue day" the other day. I don't have time to reply to everyone individually sorry, but thanks to EVERYONE on the forum. You're all so supportive and inspirational and it gives me warm fuzzies just thinkin' about y'all!

I feel much better now. I'm still bored with the food and try to make it exciting by trying different things and cooking different ways but at the end of the day, it's still not broccoli or pumpkin and it still gives me the irrits occasionally (about once a day)!

But anyway I'm in a better frame of mind to keep going. Pretty much because I realised that I've gone from a size 18 - 20 to a size 12 in 4 months. That's right ladies, I bought me a few size 12 work shirts from Target on Sunday and Target sizes are not forgiving in the slightest. That's enough incentive to continue.

Right so anyway, couple of points that I did want to raise - EXERCISE. PinkVirgo - First, thanks heaps for "hearin' me sista!" over the breaking free issue. I'd kill a small band of pygmies for a rasher of bacon right now. No offence to pygmies. Kudos to bacon. But i've got the rest of my life to eat bacon and I can eat it every morning if i want to when i finish! Anyway, I am TOTALLY craving to exercise now. I started yoga about 6 weeks ago and I had to miss it this week cause I had tonsilitis and I really did miss it! :( The week hasn't felt the same. Also, when I walk somewhere, i feel myself picking up the pace and pushing it and it feels GOOD :) So I've decided to go walking with a mate on my 2 x 15 min breaks at work.. it's only 1/2 an hour in total but hopefully it helps towards making me lose another couple of hundred grams each week... the quicker I get off this, the sooner I can experience new foods.. which brings me to my next point....

FUSSY EATING - Was anyone a fussy eater before they started this plan? I WAS and I had to force myself to eat a lot of food before I started so the plan would be successful. Things like - mushrooms, onions, brussel sprouts and bok choy. Never ate them before but now really enjoy them. Even having integrated those foods, I still feel flavour deprived. So I can't WAIT until I finish because I am going to try so many new foods that I never ate before but I'd be happy to put in my gob now. Stuff like feta, olives, sundried tomatoes. Forget twisties and chocolate, give me steamed vegie dumplings any day! I have been GLUED to the Lifestyle Food channel just drooling over all the new flavours I'm going to experience when I finish. Especially all the Asian foods and flavours (godbless Kylie Kwong).. Talk about masochism! In a weird way, it helps me get through the day and deal with the strictness of the program. If anything, this program has been really good in helping me overcome my fussy eating. There is no food that I won't try now because I KNOW what it's like to be deprived. And I can't even imagine what it's like for all you non fussy eaters who are on the program. You must feel thirty thousand times more deprived than I do!

Gee, sorry for the long post. Glad to see everyone is doing extremely well though. :D

Keep up the awesome work and I"ll see you all when I update my ticker next! :)

L-Jay,Mumbine,rjm & Momiji

Thanks, feeling better. Not going to take any medication for the temper/stress thingie, coz i've got tonnes of pills to swallow daily (hypertension 3, Diabetic 1 x 2 times, high cholestrol 1, multi Vit 2 types x 3times & Hepasil 1 x 3times)

Momiji, Fornight : well, i dont know abt the pre pack paste ingredients, lime or salt contents. Anyway, they have to be included in the vege allowance.
I have asked our consultant abt HomeMade paste chili and tomato, have also listed the ingredients i use, he was ok with it.

Another thing , dont know why bitter gourd is not allow.

Sunshine me too!!! OBSESSED would be the word. I always liked it anyway, but now it is rarely off......

And YAY!! 2KGS since last week - and that was with a wedding that i went to and ate "normal" food. Wouldnt recommend it really - i ate half of what i would have before this program and felt completely nauseous soon after. So uncomfortable. It was rich food i guess and some red wine!! I think upping my water intake helped a lot, especially in the last day or two.

Well, hopefully no more weddings until i've finished the program!!

I've now lost 15.5 all up - woo hooooooooooooooooo. :D That means I have around aboout 21.5 - 23 kgs to lose. Still seems so faaaaaaaaaaarrrrr away and I CANNOT wait to be under 90. I havent been unde 90 for at least 4 years i think......

Ok, have to go - chat soon everyone!
Oh and i would still kill for a toasted cheese, tomato and ham wholemeal bread sandwich...................

Welcome BABY81

Welcome to you Baby81

I am sure that if you decide to book a ticket on your Cohen's journey you will see some wonderful results.

I am having a super experience and have only been on it for a little over three weeks.

I received my program within about four days of my initial blood test and have never looked back.

I hope we get to talk to you more and share in your amazing transformation.

All the best

Leanne :)

Hi everyone,
lmr, Lisa, hi , good to hear you are still going well. I was just thinking about you, and wondering how you were going. Sounds like you had so much fun shopping. I haven't been shopping for a little while as I made myself a promise when I threw out all my clothes, that I would never again buy any clothes over a size 12, and I stuck to that promise. As I only had about 2 pairs of trousers left to wear, I made myself get back on track to shift this weight. Yes, it is so much harder this time than it was last time, and I wish I had followed in your footsteps and realised that I never want to do this again. I will remember that from now on. I am fairly sure, though, that starting the diet again (for 1 week), and not doing the re-feed again is part of the reason that I started to gain weight as I had gone through 2 holidays and Christmas, birthdays etc and had no trouble at all until I decided to lose a little bit more. Oh well, you live and learn, don't you. The main thing I know is that I will NEVER let myself get back to 112kg!! Anyway, was soooo pleased to hear from you, and it is really hard to believe that it is almost a year since we started, but the person I used to be also seems like a distant memory. Can't really believe, when I look at the photos, that that person was me.
sunshine, I wish I was a fussy eater! That's half my problem, I eat anything and everything. My taste buds did change when I finished doing Cohens, and I found that I preferred healthy food over junk.
Joysey, great to hear from you too, and good to hear you are also going well.
lizzi, excellent that you are seeing small movements. Every little bit counts.
Reload72, great that you are feeling better.
the old me, great that you lost even with eating out!! Well done to stay on track even with an outing.
fornight & Reload72, you guys are so lucky to have a restaurant that serves Cohens food. I'm tempted to come to Singapore just so I can eat at it!!
Sorry I've missed lots of you out today. There are so many people posting now. Thank you all, again, for you good wishes re:the job interview, and mumbine, I do have total faith that I will be given the right words to say, and if not then it is not God's plan for me at the moment.
I still have no movement on the scales and wish I would see some little move. I ate my nice piece of steak and mushrooms for dinner last night which made me feel quite a bit better. My body might have just been craving something more than chicken and tuna (which is what I usually eat), and as of this morning I have stopped taking the vitamin that I hadn't had checked. Does anyone know if we are allowed to take echinacea as during winter I take one of these every day, and haven't checked if we are allowed these either.
Have a great day everyone.
Talk to you all soon.

rjm Our consultant told me the singapore office is trying to make an arrangement with a local crater so that they can deliver Cohen-friendly LUNCHES for people who are working in the Central Business District (CBD). That means people who work there can eat HOT lunches based on their personalised meal plan!!! Isn't this a great idea!!! But it is taking him ages to set down a proper structure for it.

To *Sunshine* and Ready to Loose

i am in the same vote as you... my hubby and i actually now watch the lifestyle food chanel and anything simillar all the time... it is addictive now as to think in 6-12 months we are going to be cooking this type of food. I actually have no ambition to go to the usual take out haunts that we would of once gone to but i have maintained once we are of this program it will be a 6" subway for us. Healthy Healthy Healthy...

Reading all your posts today like 4 new pages since yesterday has motivated me today!!!!...

in the 7th week now one more to go and i hope but the eight week weigh in i'm at least 15kg down but hopefully more.

Good luck and stay strong

Tam
