Cohen's Lifestyle Cohens Lifestyle Support - New

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Hi everyone. I started the Cohen diet last year and failed badly - I kept meaning to restart it properly but now it's 16 months later and I'm 3 kg's heavier then where I was in the very beginning.
I have a question for Melbourne girls currently doing it. (If there are any!). As far as I know there is no longer a clinic here in Melb (part of the reason I failed because I really counted on the support etc.)
I was wondering if Melb girls used the Geelong clinic and if so, how do you find it? I'm very hesitant to pay a large sum of money again and find I have nobody around to answer my questions etc.

Thanks and well done to everyone who has suceeded and is currently doing well!

Hi Minxy,

I am from Melbourne as well and I thought the same Geelong is a fair way out. I sent them an e-mail and they said they would post out information and the forms that ned to be filled out if I wanted to go ahead (which i will be). I understand they have information sessions, to be honest I spent hours reading this site and all the posts and that was enough to motivate me. I intend to go there in person to get the program and talk with them one on one. The lady I spoke with sounded nice, sorry I just realised that your question is directed to someone that is already on it .. oops I am just so excited.

Hi Suzie

I'm similar to Lauren in that I take my food with me and I say I am doing this for health reasons....some more motivation for you...today one of the girls I work with came back after working off site for the month. She said she hardly recognised me and was really going on about how well I looked. She knows I'm doing Cohen's and is really supportive, but the look on her face when she saw me was priceless and that's just after about 9kgs. So it's not just the weight loss but I do believe you look healthier and the loss goes (well for me it has) from all parts of my body - 33cm to date after 6 weeks. I'm a big fan at this early stage and have found the program easy, with some minor cravings for alcohol after a particularly stressful day - but distraction tactics and this forum helps.

Good luck with your weight loss journey, it is really empowering to make a start and get going, after that it's easier and easier.

Cheers

Mags

G'day !

Hello ladies and gents,

This is my first post on the forum.I'm off for my first blood test in 2 day's to start my Cohen's programme.

Start weight: 113kg
Goal weight: 85-87 kg

There are some very inspiring stories here so keep them coming.I will definately be back to post my FANTASTIC RESULTS!!! :)

See ya!

Hi Suzy Slim - so great that you are so excited! I think I am too. A little bit apprehensive about failing again but this forum is so full of motivation! I am going to start the old programme I had from last year tomorrow as a warm up until I get organised with a new one from the Geelong clinic. I will probably also make the trek down there to visit the clinic too. Wont be such a bad thing as a good friend of mine has just moved there and so I will get to visit her while I'm there!
I've just been reading old posts and WOW - MONI - you are a bloody machine! You must feel & look amazing! SO many people have done so well.
I'm so detrmined this time :) And the best bit is that it's only July so I can potentially be looking hot-to-trot by Summer.
For anyone out there considering deviating - DON'T DO IT. I am living proof that it can screw you up big time!
I'll prob post tomorrow about crappy I feel on Day 1 back on Cohen.
Here's to a bikini and the promise of a boob job when I reach goal weight!

Mags - I agree about looking healthy in the process too. I have always been blessed with good skin but my skin has never been so radiant and smooth as it has since I started this program and I also no longer get the PMS breakouts anymore! It's beautiful, amazing skin all the time not just for 3 weeks of the month. Also, even before my weight loss was noticable to others I had people make comment on how clear and sparkling my eyes were. And this continues. I feel like I am constantly walking around with a glow of health!
There are many more benefits to this program than weight loss!

Suzie Slim- Welcome to the forum. I love your enthusiasm. It jumps out! Cohen's is the best program/"diet" I have ever tried. Once started & "in the zone" you too will be amazed at the almost instantly noticable change to your appearance. The physical cravings go, along with the hunger. The mental cravings we still have to learn to deal with. Already I see you learning the strategies & coming in here has always been my main motivation. It also helps you fill in time until your next meal! I recommend starting a diary.
In Tas our clinic is in Hobart & I live in the north of the state. I know that I can ring them anytime or email but rarely do as I get most of my answers & encouragement right here! The support is great.
Mags- Well done! The compliments will flow from now on!
Digger- Welcome to the forum & all the best with the program! Is my bloke radar correct & do we have a welcome male addition to our forum?
Minxy- Good for you re-starting the program. It takes courage to do that. By sharing your experiences in the forum you have helped many, including myself, to stick to the program. Early on I read squillions of posts & saw how bad just a small deviation could be so decided to stick to the program strictly. It's taken me a long time (I'm 54) to learn but feel I now have the strategies to keep this weight off. (I sure hope so!)
Moni- Congratulations on making the finals. Cohen's is great & you have done very well. It's good advertising for Cohen's, having you & Asy in the top 10, both being Cohen's "graduates." I think you were in the forum before I started. Did you have a diary? I'll have a look if you did. Best of luck.
LG- The sparkling eyes? Snap!! I had never mentioned this to anyone as I was wondering if I imagined them but they shine back at me every day.
Day 3 of re-feed. This program is so sensible. How many of us have been on "diets" & learned absolutely nothing about nutrition. We finish the diet & then go right back to "normal" eating ( !) Never again. From now on I am thinking about everything I eat & making sure that I enjoy every morsel that I decide to eat instead of shovelling it in like a food famine is around the corner! Cheers, Cate.

Hi Everyone,
Well I am going to need some support on friday. I got an invite today to a confectionary trade show. As if driving around in my car with loads of snack foods isn't enough.

I'm on day 3 and 2 kilos down.

Minxy - I'm in Geelong so if you do make the trek down i'd be happy to catch up with you for black coffee and we can chat about the program. I'm using my old plan too for the time being.

Digger Congratulations on choosing Cohens. Its a great diet and very easy to follow.

Joysey - Where are you?

Myshy

Hi all,
Moni, Joysey and Myshy it's so good to see some of the "oldies" back on the board. MONI, you look TERRIFIC!!!!!!!!!!!! How long has it been since you finished the refeed. Joysey, I don't think I've seen any photos of you since you finished, but I'm sure you look terrific too!
I'm interested to find out how everyone else went after refeed and how you are going at keeping the weight off. I have put most of the weight I lost back on, but I have had heaps of things going on in my life and as usual turned to food for comfort. I just popped back in to see how everyone was going and I'm seriously considering starting my program again. Myshy, how's it going with using your old program. Are you losing at the desired rate?
Good luck to everyone. Hopefully I'll talk to you all soon

Hello Hello,

Oh how I love this forum its been a whole week since I started reading my posts and I still feel enthusiastic and not disheartened !!! hehe even that is an achievement in itself (the psyching yourself up part).

Moni - you are like a celebrity to me !!!! and the actual reason I e-mailed cohen in the first place. I bought Slimming and Health when i was in Sydney on the weekend and when I saw two of the finalists where on the program I thought to my self "this is it, this is what i have been looking for" so then I jumped on the web came across this forum lost many hours sleep reading all the posts from the first to the last and here I am. I already feel like I know about most of you as I have read many of the posts, this is so awesome.

Mags + Life's Good, that is very motivating stuff I have suffered from an underlying acne its not an in your face acne but its always there looking back at me, you know like when little kids look at you and then they say "what's that on your face? Is it sore?" bless em at least there honest!!! so if the skin starts to glow that would be another bonus, I could just imagine that wonder feeling as you start to transform.

Now can I ask a question I am starting to think of how to get myself ready because I will be spending the next three months travelling around australia and I am also on a budget. I think I remembered reading somewhere about scales to weigh your food? I have about 5 old school ones with the pin, but someone mentioned it was really important to have electronic scales? Is this true... if so I may need to put one on lay buy!!! (thats another goal save money which should work if I aint buying all that crap food!!)

Have a lovely day to you all

Suzie Slim - Harris Scarfe has digital scales on sale this week for $34.95. They are the ones I use. I think some of the girls on the old forum also got their scales off of Ebay. Make sure you get ones that have 100gm increments.

RJM - Bec its so nice to see some of the old faces back! :) I havent put all my weight back on but enough for me to want to catch it now. So far I am a Day 3 with a 2kg loss. I was going to buy a new plan (and might still do so) but I waited in the clinic for ages the other day with my money in hand and ended up having to leave, so I just decided to give my old plan a go and see where I end up. My refeed was a disaster last time. I simply could not cope with all the food and although it was modified I had gone for days vomiting up all the food. I am hoping to get a better run this time given I know what I'm in for.

Joysey is coming back too so if you do decide to restart it will be like the old days!. I wonder where Nat is?

Myshy
