Cohen's Lifestyle Cohens Lifestyle Support - New

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Wow! Well I must say you "oldies" (hehe-;) :D ) have injected a bit more life into this forum! Now others have gone quiet.:)confused: )Welcome all newbies & "oldies." Day 4 of re-feed for me & so far, so good. No weight-loss, but no gain either. Any advice from those who have "been there, done that" would be much appreciated. I know that I am constantly learning from every-one else's experiences & will keep on learning forever, cheers, Cate.

HI Cate,

When I did my refeed over 16 say's I only lost 1kg's in that time.... but Hey you are going great gun's..... Well done

Cate, it's not uncommon not stay the same. Nat from the forum last year stayed the same during hers from what I remember. You have done an amazing job - over 34 kgs....that is incredible! :beerchug: Keep on doing what you are doing - it is obviously working for you. Bet you will be glad to have more normality back into your life. Cohens is great , but it is nice to get a little bit more variety. I really missed vegemite when I did the diet last time - full on drooling cravings for it :drooling: (funnily enough I hardly ever eat it now!).

Well.....I've decided not to go to the confectionary trade show tommorow. I am such a complete and utter chocoholic that I know I would be blowing the diet this early on. (I love freebies too  )

I was a little bit lightheaded today (hey..maybe I am just an airhead  ), so i am hoping my blood pressure stablises really quick. Don't want to be passing out on any of my customers.

Moni - You are working now? What are you doing?

Kayseysmum - Have you started your diet yet? Are you still exercising? You were right into it last time we spoke.

Hello all,

Cate 34kg is huge amount and so amazing, that is what my goal would be toooo, how long did it take you?

I am heading out to do some shopping tonight so i am going to get the digital scales and a mini griller so I can cook food when i am on the road. I also sent my paperwork in today and blood test tomorrow. I hope the program is ready for me to pick up by the end of next week. Is it usually a few days for them to get the program to you !!!! I am suffering anxiety I want to start as soon as possible.

Hi Mysh, yes im re doing the cohens program as I tried to convince myself I couldnt do it and try other alternatives but none of them worked so back to what works. Last time we were in touch I did the city to surf with Adro and the free online health forum was such an experience, imagine Kasey in the pram amongst all the thousands of people my god it was a memory, especially pushing her up heart break hill luckily a lady I met from the forum helped and took over going up the hill

Suzie slim ahhh waiting waiting I knew that feeling I ordered my program at the end of December when Dr Cohen goes on holidays so I had to wait til mid January to get my program. I think the best thing to do is cut out stuff now, start drinking water, cut out bread, potatoes all the bad stuff basically.

Cate well done on losing and refeeding im sure you look wonderful and truly deserve the end result.

Moni keep popping on we need your butt kicking back here.

Remember short term sacrifice for long term gain, who would say that???:rotflmao: mwah xxxxx

Whoa there trigger...

Firstly, no-one's been "locked out" of anywhere.

Secondly, you must think people are truly dills if you haven't realised they can go and have a look at your Profile which clearly states you were last logged in at 6.11pm today, some 50 minutes prior to your posting that post above. (See pic, attached).

In addition to that, you have both, my personal email address, AND the chat room address, via either of which you could have contacted me if you truly had a problem getting in to the forum. We spent ages chatting in the chat room, you've been welcomed to the forum, you've been logging on regularly, I can't understand why you posted what you did. If you truly DO have a problem logging in to anywhere on my forum, contact me and I'll see what I can do, rather than making a ruckus in public as a first port of call...

I'm sorry to post this, but, hey, I don't really like being accused of doing something I didn't do. Gotta say, I REALLY don't like it. I'm very disappointed.

Now, that being past, :hug2: I'd like to say HI! to everyone, I haven't been on here for some time, admittedly, sorry. As is possibly obvious by the above, I run the ' ' so I guess I spend most of my time there. I started that forum because I wanted an Aussie based, Cohens specific forum. I did, however, post on this forum for some time prior to that, and I'm still grateful for the advice I received while here.

Sorry to come back on such a negative-ish note, but gee I dislike being 'told off' by remote.

Have been reading all of your posts over the last few pages, everyone seems to be doing so well!!!

Also, if anyone's interested, I'm in the finalists for the Slimmer of the Year. It's truly great to have two Cohens people in the finals, don't ya think?!

congratulations on your great success on cohens and also for making it to the finals. I have been a big fan of yours (have read most of your posts here and at newyou)

Good luck, I really hope you win, you really do deserve it. I have voted for you numerous times.

p.s Great post above. Moni is only here for votes, I am on to her, once the comp is over she'll be gone again!

Suzie Slim- It took me almost exactly 6mths to lose 34.5kg. My program arrived within 5 days of my blood test but I waited a couple of weeks to start as we had some functions to go to. It is a good idea to cut down a few things in the meantime, like coffee & carbs.
Asy, Do you know what I think about all of this? I think the nicest, most helpful, supportive & honest person will win!
Roly Poly- Did I ever tell you that I really, really like you a lot?
On this forum when someone posts you can have a look at all of their previous posts. Since the 18th of July a pattern has emerged. This has nothing to do with what most of us are here for.
Hang in there folks. This forum is usually a genuine, supportive forum. It will soon be back, once again to that.
Digger- Don't let all this c..p put you off the forum. It's usually better than all of this and will be again soon!
When does this comp finish?
Cheers Cate.

Hi everyone

I havent been around much for ages and have been hang a lo of stuff going on. In my heart of hearts I really want to finish this program...I just feel a bit stuck with my emotional eating BUT I havent given up the good fight.

Just wanted to toch base and say hi to all .....

Rolypoly, thanks so much for your kind words! They're VERY much appreciated! PM me and let me know who you are on NYF. :D

Cate, ya know what, we're all winners already. I know I am. I took one year (well, just under) to lose not only 88kg, but my high blood pressure, lack of stamina, and embarrassment at my appearance. Those are things I was really happy to lose, trust me.

Mostly, I'm happy to have 'won' the rest of my life. Being more than double what I should have been is certain to have shortened my life.

It's nice to wander back in here to see 'old faces' I remember Beck and a few others! I've been meaning to wander back for a while, but I didn't want it to seem as though I was soliciting for votes, so I thought I'd come in after the comp finished. Thanks, however, to Annie for mentioning me a few pages ago! Much appreciated!

Still, while I'm here, I'd really like to thank everyone who's been and had a look at the site, whether they voted or not, that's not the issue, hopefully seeing two cohenites in the final 10 will motivate even just one person. If it does, it's all worth it.

asy :D

ASY - OMG you lost 88 kilos? Congratulations. I missed your whole journey but I really applaud you on achieving such a fantastic result.

I only visited the slimming mag today for the first time - so many inspiring people!

Pinksultana - I remeber flicking through the forum a while ago and reading your posts. Hope to see you re-inspired (just like a few of us doing it for the second time around) and posting soon.

I did! thanks for the kudos, it's appreciated!

My sister's name is Mish, too, well, Mischelle, but she's called Mish. I did have to have a look to see whether you were in Adelaide to see whether you were her! (Aparrently I need to ring her more often)... ehhe

To any-one who is doing the program for the second(or 3rd) time do you have any advice for those of us who aren't yet there? In particular, what leeway do you think you should allow weight-wise before going back on the initial Cohen's program strictly. (I have been thinking about 3kg.) I am very nervous about finishing re-feed. I haven't got my maintenence advice yet, but have read the US one. In Aust. do they only rec. 2 pieces of fruit per day for eg.? Cheers, Cate.

So Sorry to of up set anyone......Clearly I have been wrong.....I have emailed Asy and hopefully things will be fixed...... but ROLY POLY if thats your name. You have not had a nice word to say about or to me since I have been back. If you would like to go back and read my past posts you will see my journey in a very positive way... as most of this forum has. Do you know why I have not been on this forum for some time????? I work on a weekly bases helping cohen's clinets out side these forums in my spare time.... 3 kids, work full time..... and only just getting the internet working ( Satelite) as we are 140klm from any major town.....I have had no access to the forum....Had 2 family members die of cancer........ so please get your facts right before you go off........ AGAIN.

sorry to everyone for doing this..... Lets all think positive.... we are all here for the same thing....SUPPORT.

If you are not wanting my support please let me know.

Hiya Moni,

Don't worry about it.

It's all behind us, even on another page! (that's as funny as I get after ripping the driveway up with a pick...).

Let's put it aside and keep going.

Just like I say with programme deviations, don't dwell on the past. Learn from it and move on.

Whomever wins, it doesn't matter, the great thing is it's got a lot of people talking about Cohens, and hopefully between learning about it in the Mag and reading the forums, it'll help people. Hopefully help people decide to join the programme and change thier lives as we have.

Chin up, cheer up, don't fret.

asy :D

Hey guys,
You're all doing great.
Asy, 88kgs is a heck of a lot, it must be so much easier to get around for you now.
This is for anyone who's on refeed, almost there, or have completed cohen's: Did you get hungry when you were about 8-10kgs away from goal weight?
I know my body isn't at goal weight yet, so I was wondering if any of you guys had the same problem.
Thanks.
HUGS

Hiya Clawdia!

Easier, heck yeah! I don't have to carry myself around anymore!

I got hungry about 8-10kg from bottom weight, but I think it's about 10% off your finish weight, that seems to be the trend...

I ended up, on clinic advice, adding an extra piece of fruit to my diet. But then, by now, I do quite a bit of manual labour type stuff. Especially on weekends.

hope that helps,

asy :D

Hello Everyone,

Wow, I had so much catching up to do. There has been quite a bit of action on this site from our more experienced Cohenites.
Welcome Welcome Welcome to ALL.
As many of you know I had started re-feed and got to day three and haven't been able to check in much since. Sorry, a lot has been going on.
Anyway, due to circumstances out of my control I was not able to continue for the next few days (but I ate Cohen's food while unable to weigh it). So I emailed Cohen's to ask if I should start over or start where I left off. They told me to start on my day 4, and if I gained weight go back 2 days. So I am restarting re-feed on my day 4.
I am hoping to be able to check back in daily but it may have to be every couple of days.
I really love being a part of this forum and miss my daily fix. So while I may not be on much you are all in my thoughts. Great Job everyone , stay positive and we'll talk soon.
Much Love

Hi,

Cate and Kaseysmum thanks for the tip i think i will have to I just got a call from the clinic and the told me i forgot to sign one of the forms, so i have just added some more time to wait!!! oh i was so excited and thought I was being so efficient, I had it all timed in my head and now I stuffed it up a little oh well, thats cool its just a few more days.

I just keep thinking about how much better i will feel in 2-3 months time, I am becoming more and more aware of how big i have gotten. On my last attempted diet i got to 87.4kg and as of yesterday I weighed in at 95kg. I just need to keep that in mind this is the year and all of you on this site are the ones who remind me that this is the solution, your success are my motivators. Keep it coming and I hope to be able to enjoy the success all of you have achieved !!!!!
