... (my)28kgs in 14wks is a lot of weight to have lost. I am feeling it in different ways. My Dr told me on Sunday that its too fast and I will only gain it all back at the same pace and Im being foolish and irresponsible. Granted, she is thinking Im on some random diet as she has never heard of Cohens. But its people like her, that make us strivers for normal weight, to question ourselves and to put down our efforts. Nonetheless, I will not allow her to throw a spanner in the works.

Hi Regina - and lessfatty, I went looking for this reference so that I could respond.
No, your doctor is not right. My weekly weight has not changed since 24th June, 2006.
I am certainly aware of the affect carbohydrates have on me -I have continued with the yoghurt breakfast but by choice as I really like it.
Lunch is something bsed on protein, and sometimes this means a toasted sandwich, or an egg salad, or tuna or whatever, but not just endless wheat products. Dinner is just the family meal and the rest of the family are a lot more conscious of what they eat now, so that's good.
But ... if I have a high carbohydrate day, I balance it with a low carbohydrate day the day after. We had fish 'n' chips for dinner this week (gorgeous beer batter, really the nicest f&c that I have had in years) and the next day I had actually lost weight.
I have kept up with the water, but there are always raw almonds in the jar and Old Gold chocolate in the snack tray. It's there if I want it.
I choose cheesecake if I want desert, and not ice cream with pretend chocolate topping. My need or desire to nibble and snack after dinner has almot disappeared - but I still have something to munch on if I want and have discovered the joys of a couple of crispbread and a slice of cheese rather than six pieces of toast.
If I eat something now, it had better be good! As I have mentioned before, my taste for sweet sherry has been replaced with a liking for dry reds and most importantly, I really enjoy being slim.
I was on the program for only 20 weeks, yet in that time what I wanted and looked forward to eating radically changed. I am not 'afraid' of putting weight back on. I am confident that I won't put the weight back on, not even a couple of kilos. I don't want to and I won't.
In fact, I was thinking the other day, I almost have to eat to keep the weight steady - and perhaps that's the knack. Previously I went ten or twelve hours between eating whereas now I keep the interval to less than six hours and keep up with the water.
There's no magic to this, but by the time we have reached goal weight I think we know our bodies quite well, and we are inspired to give our bodies the best care we can. After all, if we have pets we look after them as they can't do it for themselves. My pet is now my body (sorry if that sounds kinky!) and I have discovered a new hobby - caring for 'my self' as I haven't really bothered to care for my self before.
Keep going - and a special congratulations to heavenlylamb for achieving 'overweight' status. That is truly amazing and you have done extremely well considering the impositions of business and travel which you have to deal with.
So I reckon, all of us on this forum today will be at goal weight and stabilised before Christmas 2007 - and I am determined to be able to say on 24th June 'Oh, I've been the same weight for a year now' and if I can do it, you can do it too!
Cheers
Kristine
