Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Hi LAM
Yeah it is getting colder here. Live in the south east part of australia. Not looking forward to the frosts that will be following soon.

I havent been very good lately so I have recommitted myself for my final run home. Have been totally 100% cohens for 2 days now into my 3rd. Feeling pretty empowered and focussed on the the run home. Just getting a little frustrated.

Hi to all fellow Cohenites all over the world. What a great decision we have made to follow this Cohen's path. There are lots of twists and turns & detours but the destination we're aiming for is worth the journey. Much better than a dead end!
Thanks Annie-esp for your peaceful smiley. You're a nurturer! I'll even send you a "wiggly" smiley-:hug2:
Stick with it every-one until goal. Once you're in the right mind-set it gets easier & easier. xo Cate

Hi everyone,
What a day I had. Nothing went right. Whew...glad to be sitting down with you guys. Although today was busy and complicated, the weather was beautiful. How is everyone doing? I hope all is well. I am doing well. Is anyone doing anything special on mothers day? Maybe someone is making a special Cohen's meal? Any ideas? I would like a piece of strawberry shortcake but that will have to wait.
Jools, stay strong, you are so close and we are here for you.

Hi all,
thanks Lam, this forum is great and there have been so many before who have conquered this and I remember being where Annie and a few others are now thinking that I will never get down that low. But you will, you all will and it will happen before you know it. Good luck to everyone and thanks for all the support. Every bit helps :)

HELLO ALL.

WELL>.............................................

Where to start......

As some of you know my journey has been up and down.. to say the least. On the weekend I sat down and started asking myself why I self sabotage constantly and then when answers didnt' come I asked why I liked being fat!

Amazing how once we start asking the hard questions the answers come .. in a host of various ways. For me, I had an encounter with an old lover who shed some light on an issue we shared back 20 years ago this month. I don't want to go in to what it was, but hearing his feelings made me assess my own on the situation and what I discovered, was the root cause of a lot of my issues, especially with being overweight!

So I'm hear to say if you are struggling, seek out the reason why you are obese. The reason you are struggling. You might be completely devastated by the answer, but after devastation comes rebuilding, rebirth and a new beginning.

Woooooooooo hoooooooooooooooo I feel I've turned a corner today. I'm having a last meal tonight, then tomorrow, with my new special email weight loss budy, am going to start Cohens tomorrow 100% and shrink to my natural weight!

Today is the start of the rest of MY life!

I have also been asking myself the same question. You can hide behind fat. It can operate as a shield ( a very unhealthy shield) I am learning to face my problems instead of pretending they don't exist.
I have had a really good day today, feeling very calm & I am really looking forward to weigh-in on Monday. The thing is with Cohen's if you stick to it religiously (& it feels like my religion at the moment) I know that I will have lost weight-about 1kg a week after the initial 4 weeks. What diet/program would be better than that?
I am not craving anything & it's only if I have forgotten to eat my crackers that I ever get hungry! Love it, Cate

It's great to be alive! :) xo Cate

Hello everyone,
It is 8:05 PM Friday night here, so I believe it is your Saturday morning, I hope all is going well for you. I am feeling a bit discouraged because the weight loss seems to have slowed way down. I will be finishing up week three Sunday night and week four begins Monday. Is this typical? I haven't cheated at all, although I have made a few mistakes. Ate canned chicken
(98 percent fat free) then emailed Cohen's they said "NO" for that. Also ate slightly more than 1 tomato (when adding breakfast and Lunch) in a day for a couple days. But that's it. Any ideas. I do tend to stick with the same foods, because some of the choices are things I don't eat (but I have bean more open to change). Anyway, blah blah blah.
To all of my Cohen Friends have a nice weekend :D
Happy Mothers Day to all of the moms and moms to be. :D

Hi everyone,

I am so amazed that I am into the 60s. I haven't been this weight for about 20 years. I lost 1.4kg this week and i am so pleased that the loss is staying consistent even though i am nearing goal.

My new job is wonderful and the people are really lovely. Working in a hospital there are also lots of yummy food smells around. I especially love the smell of raisin toast. I am sticking with my idea that food generally smells better than it tastes which helps me to be content with smelling and not tasting.

tryingagain: From what I understand, your refeed is included in the initial cost no matter how long it takes you to lose the weight. The contract time only covers counselling. It wouldn’t hurt to call and ask anyway. Congratulations for making the decision to get back on track. We are all rooting for you.

Congratulations to everyone else. We are all doing so well and deserve a big pat on the back.

Cheers,
Penny.

Hi Lori, I know it's discouraging that your weight loss has slowed, but your clothes are getting looser! That proves that you're losing something-- fat, inches-- even if it isn't pounds at the moment. Just wait, your weight loss will catch up!

Annie and Penny, congrats on you milestone weights. Here's to more in the future...

Thanks Misty & Cate

Lori, I agree with Misty, it will all catch up. Same thing happened to me, but as long as the cm's/inches were getting smaller, I wasn't too fussed. I would rather the clothes feeling looser than what was happening on the scales.
Hang in there! :)
Bright Yellow, Congrats your loss so far is amazing, I remember seeing your before and after pics not so long ago and you are looking great!

Happy Mothers Day to all you fabulous and inspirational women, and to all you non - mothers (like moi!) you too are fabulous and inspirational. :)

ANNNIE That is fantastic news hitting the 80's... YOU GO GIRL.. awesome effort. What a feel :jump:

JOOLS you're so close :jump: How are you going?

CATE - we seem to be on the same kind of journey. Dealing with our demons is extremely liberating. I woke up yesterday feeling as if a void I didnt' know was there was now gone! My whole attitude to food is changed today.. I can't explain it.. it's like someone turned the light on for me.

BRIGHT YELLOW - you are doing so well. It's just falling off you, way to go and congrats on the new job too.

BABYFATNOMORE - How's things with you? You too are doing amazingly. What an inspiration.

LAM - ditto to what everyone else has said. The body is a complex being and the scales only tell one minute proportion of what's going on. Personally I've gone from weighing several times a day, to weighing every morning religiously for months, to not weighing at all now. I found I fluctuated way too much. Since I've stopped weighing and measuring it's since then I've noticed my clothes getting loser, some not even fitting me any more. What we focus on is what we attract (Yep I subscribe to The Secret philosophy). So if you're constnatly looking at the scales and weight then that's what you're attracting. Give them a break, put them in the cupboard for a fortnight or more, stick to Cohens 100%, make sure you drink at least 3 litres if not more a day in water, and YOU WILL see a change in your body shape. It won't happen overnight, but rest assured it WILL happen.

Happy shrinking all. Happy mother's day. xxoo

ICL- Love it-"Clothes are getting baggy. I'm not so daggy." Dealing with demons is absolutely exhausting. Learning to love myself is one of the biggest challenges for me. Today was not as stressful as I expected though (with all the outlaws) Both of my sons rang which was the main thing.
I have stopped weighing myself on the sly & am going to weigh myself every Monday. I know it's meant to be only every 4 weeks but I do vary the times that I eat things like crackers & fruit & I like to keep an eye on what happens. Looking forward to tomorrows' 4 weekly weigh-in & ticker change!
xo to all Cate.

Hi everyone hope all you mums out there had a great mothers day:jump: I had a great one just a lazy day at home watching movies after my big week at work.

It is great to see that everyone is losing weight and are sticking to cohens haven't got real lot to say except keep up the good work everybody.:hug2:

Hello Everyone,
Thanks for the kind words. I guess I was having a tough day and needing to feel bad for myself. Which is kind of silly because I know I am doing fine.
Tomorrow is the beginning of week 4, and I haven't cheated once. Last night we celebrated the birthday of two friends, I didn't have any cake and was so busy talking that I even forgot to eat the orange that I had set aside.
Brite yellow, I looked at your pictures you look beautiful.
Everyone one of you are doing great and I Love checking in with all of you.
ICL My paperwork told me to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day, I have found myself very thirsty lately so I have increased it to 10 glasses a day. Is the thirst typical?
