My current weight = 155
Goal weight = 120

I'd like to lose all the weight by 2008. That would be amazing. I'm not sure how realistic the goal is because I have no discipline and I sit a lot. One pound off a week would be great.

I usually eat healthy foods until afternoon. Then I start eating poorly. We have lots of food choices around that are easier to eat than fixing something healthy. Doughnuts, cheesecake, cashew nuts, pepperoni sticks, and brownies are a few of the things that are in the kitchen right now. I have asked the family not to bring so many temptations home, or to take them to their rooms, but it hasn't been successful.

I'm going to try to post my food diary for each day here.

Today so far I have had:
1/2 English muffin with margerine
coffee with cream
taco soup

Hey Cool Cat!

Welcome to the WLF and to your brand new diary!

I too have the same problem about eating good through out the day then losing it come latter.

I've found it really helps if I throw some carrots or cherry tomatoes or grapes into a bowl and leave them on the counter when I'm in a snacky mood (sometime between mid/late afternoon until dinner). Granted, it wouldn't make it easier having all those other items around as well! Yikes!

I finished off yesterday with wine, more taco soup, and about 3-4 oz of leftover pork loin.

Today I have had scrambled egg on 1/2 toaster muffin, 2 sausages and some raw carrots.
I didn't put cream in my coffee today. That's a way to take off a few calories.
I've only had about 8 oz of water so far today, so I'd better start drinking!

Thanks M2M, I've got that bowl of carrots out! :)

Well, Friday night...
We watched TV with the kids and had pizza.
I ate a salad first, then one piece of pizza.
THEN...2 chocolate chip cookies.
I drank my water before a glass of wine.
I haven't kept track of how many oz of water I'm getting a day.
We don't have any Lean Cuisine's left, so I didn't know what to eat for lunch. I just didn't eat any. That made me hungry so we had pizza for dinner!

edit: Oh! I forgot about a slice of WW bread with about 1 oz of processed pastrami on it.

See what happens when you get hungry? (Granted, one slice is NOT bad! Half the pizza is bad) ;)

I know the key for me is to never get fully hungry...otherwise, I start grazing and there's NO stopping!

Hungry

I looked in the fridge & freezer and didn't really see anything to eat. I'm not very good at putting foods together.
The freezer had toaster strudels and ice cream. I've got to get to the grocery store...I also hate to shop, so my husband and kids usually do it. They will follow a list, but also add what they like, too. I could have had some yogurt or low fat cottage cheese, but it just didn't sound good to me.

I used to have a list of foods to feed the kids when they were little that I kept on the fridge. I wasn't able to think of stuff (hardly could think at all) when the kids were really little. I should make another list of ideas for when I get hungry.
We have absolutely no schedule for eating here. My husband is NOT a scheduled kind of guy and I have given up trying to serve meals for the most part.

Okay...yesterday's food:
large bowl of frosted miniwheats with whole milk (all we had)
slice cheesecake
glass wine
1 1/2 chicken legs, fried
random raw carrots
popsicle
custard cup cashews

I sat around way too much. The family listened to a book on tape in the living room. I fried the chicken for part of it. It's hard to get going on these lazy no school / no work days.

Work out

What's that?! lol
I'm not moving much at all. I signed up to do 10 minutes of cardio a day. Today I danced to some old rock n roll. :)
I know that I would lose so much better if I worked out. I still belong to a gym...I used to go about 3 times a week because of back surgery, but I quit and then got out of the habit. I've not been active since my teens. My back is bothering me a lot again, but I don't know what kick I need to actually do something about it! Maybe the 10 minutes a day will get me in the mood. One small step at a time. :)

Have a good day!

Fruit & Vegetables !

I really struggle to get fruit especially. Banana is about what I do because it's easy.
I thawed out salmon yesterday and planned to have it with mashed potato & frozen peas, but the kids brought home McDonalds. I guess we'll have the salmon tonight.
I hope you have a great day!:)

Thanks Cheryl! Good luck also with your weight loss...you seem to be making great progress! I really should write down everything I eat like you're doing.

Yesterday's food:

Banana
coffee + 2T cream
Pork loin sandwich on WholeWheat bread
1.5 T mayo, 4 pickle rounds (sweet)
3 oz cherry yogurt mixed with 3 oz 2% cottage cheese
1.5 servings frosted mini wheat cereal
1/3 c 1% milk
carrots, tomatoes, broccoli with Ranch dip
1 oz cashew nuts

I went over on calories.
I did my 10 minutes of "exercise" (dancing).
Everybody else had leftover pizza for dinner & I had cold cereal. A small victory over pizza...it smelled good. I saved myself some fat calories.
Still maintaining the same 152.
