Ok, my emotions yesterday were so up and down, so inconsistent and ultimately polar opposites, that they should've created a tornado.
First, I had to get up at 6:30AM to get ready to take our daughter to her final cross country meet. We had to leave at 7:30AM to get there on time so it was an early morning for us, especially on a Saturday when I often get the chance to sleep in. Then, it was barely 30-degrees when we got there which was about the same temperature it remained for the next three or four hours which is about how long we had to stand out in the freezing cold, waiting for our daughter's race to end.
Then, we get into the car and head off to the Halloween store to get the kids costumes. Now, to be fair, it's our fault for waiting so long to get the kids costumes, but we honestly didn't really have a good opportunity until this weekend to take them. So, we go shopping around for Halloween costumes. The first store we stopped at was a smaller Halloween Superstore which didn't have as much as the one we normally go to (we just stopped at one that was close to where our daughter's race was located). We ended up finding our son a costume in about 10-seconds, but our daughter didn't find anything she liked. So, we drove an hour and fifteen minutes to go to the Halloween Superstore we usually go to. Aaaaand...our daughter ends up being the epitome of annoying, indecisive, whiny punk teenager who ends up taking a fucking HOUR to pick out a costume.
After dropping 50-plus dollars on a stupid costume for our daughter (which will never happen again), we come home. To peace and quiet? No. To teenage girls. Our daughter had a sleepover last night so we spent the remainder of our evening listening to loud, obnoxious teenagers scream and squeal and fight and OH MY GOD, THEY'RE LOUD!!!
SIGH
So, that part of my day made my negative emotions boil. However...
Ohio State LOST their football game which gives me a huge boner (I HATE Ohio State - those smug bastards).
And, more importantly...
That's right. The mother fucking CUBS are going to the WORLD SERIES!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!!!
I've always been a die hard Chicago White Sox fan, but I've always had a place in my heart for the Cubs too. I'm a Chicago guy - hence the name, obviously. When I lived in Chicago I lived in Wrigleyville - which is where Wrigley Field is located (the home of the Cubs). I was about three blocks away and often went to games or hung out around the stadium. It is probably the coolest place on earth. Everybody there is super awesome, super friendly and the atmosphere is incredibly loving. And, the Cubs fans around the world finally get to feel the love because, for the first time in over 70 years, the Cubs are going to the World Series. AWESOME.
