Well, I WOULD run on the treadmill but it's one of those smaller treadmills that wasn't necessarily manufactured for people to run on it. It's one of those ones with the swinging arm extensions (I can't think of the actual name for them at the moment) and, since it's a fairly older model, it wasn't made with the intent of 250-lb men running on it. So, when I get on the treadmill I walk at 3.5MPH which is a fairly brisk pace for me. I also put it at a fairly steep incline so I have to push myself to "walk uphill" the entire time. I usually walk for 30-minutes but during my streak I might go for longer (45-minutes, maybe an hour).
If I CAN run I WILL run though. No excuses. Even if its cold I'll still go for a run. I have some gear I have picked out that I'm going to order (balaclava, warmer running jacket, etc) so I can be prepared for when winter hits - because it's NOT far away!!!
And, it's funny you mention going for a run to kind of feel better because I just told Jen the other day that I was thinking of exercising every time I felt the urge to eat crappy food or have some drinks. Every time I finish a workout I feel more obligated to eat better, so I figured going for a run (or lifting weights) when I feel like cheating would put me right back on track.
