Changes.... My weight loss journey....

Ok so - I didn't lose anything this week - in fact I gained .2. BUT... I ate pretty well.... Exercise was a thing of the past and water consumption didn't happen.

So I know what I need to work on.

The good thing is - in the past this would have stopped me from continuing - but not this time! Woo Hoo!

I'm going to give myself today - enjoy dinner out with SO....

And back on the train tomorrow.

What's more... I think we may have nailed down a wedding location! EEP! LOL

Oh I'm a little "gun shy" after the first marriage... LOL

But I know its right... it feels right!

It is too bad assholes ruin good wmn, heh heh heh...

Im very tainted and afraid i must say...

Good on you for finding a good guy and talking that plunge and knowing it feels right:D:D:D

When it feels right, its time to just do it. Screw locations, just go with the backyard and the best friends.

I made the mistake of having the big fat white dream wedding...the wedding planning took longer then the marriage lasted. BOO!

Enjoy dinner with the SO

Ok so I think I'm gonna try counting calories.

Today's calories -- > about 1600

Exercise -- > 20 minutes Wii Fit + 1 hour of rec swimming

Wow, one month and 11 lbs! You are rocking it! BTW, I kinda missed you, you need to stop by more often.

Thanks Owl - really.. its hard to get on as often now that I'm back to work!

Sigh.

Tonight we head out to the restaurant to see what we think of it as a wedding location.

ARGH! Wish us luck!

What are you using to track calories? I've fallen off the wagon on calorie tracking. When I was though, I preferred the daily plate because there was so much name brand information availabel. I used fitday also, which is better for breaking down macro and micro nutrients, but you have to customize so many foods to make it work.

Maybe I'll start again tonight...

I don't mind customising entries - but then I've fallen off of tracking too, so they may be related.

I haven't tried the daily plate, so I don't know if I would like it better or not.

I do like fitday for all the other stuff it can do and track.

Changes, I read back in my journal and saw your post about cycling (don't know how I missed it before?), there is no issue with getting on a bicycle.

Basically, here is my take on it. I have a very expensive road bike with skinny little high pressure tires. I do periodically get flats, but not from usage, from road hazards. I have found that I need to keep the air pressure right in them all the time to make sure they don't wear improperly.

I also have a mountain bike with fat tires. They rarely ever get flats because they are made heavier and thicker than the road bike tires.

If someone heavy were to consider buying a bike, I would probably steer them in the direction of a "comfort" or "hybrid" bike. These usually have fatter tires like a mountain bike, but a less aggressive tread like a road bike. They are, as the name would suggest, designed for riding comfort. They are generally pretty durable and easy to work with.

To get the general idea:

For the record, I started my journey at very close to 400 lbs. Cycling has been part of it from the beginning, albeit, short distances at first. Cycling and swimming are terrific exercises for those of us who have weight problems beyond a few vanity lbs. Both have exteremely low levels of impact, they are easy on the knees, ankles, feet, etc. In fact, cycling is good for almost every thing except, your ass :smilielol5:

Well, at first anyway, actually, from a toning perspective, its pretty good for that part of your body, if you can get past the pain...

I find it is just too hard for me to do. Even the slightest incline means I am off the bike and walking.

Mind you, my bike is a piece of crap, and I haven't tried it in the last few months, so things might be different now. I am a little lighter and a little fitter than I was last time I tried to ride.

Thanks for the info! This is something I am going to seriously consider..... :)

I haven't been around in about a week. I'm one of "those" teachers and getting ready for back to school.. its rather chaotic. LOL. But ready to go and I can't wait for the first day on Tuesday.

My busy-ness has made eating rather tough this week... BUT... I didn't gain or lose on Wed so that's ok. I thought I was eating unhealthily but I guess I must have been more careful than I thought.

I thought I was doing better this week but the scales this morning show a gain? I think it might be the lack of veggies and.. uh.. fibre. 'nough said?

But I'm not off the wagon so to speak - we just stalled for a little. :)

Going back to school on tuesday will be VERY good for my eating habits. It gets me back into routine... No junk lying around (except for what gets placed in the staff room - and I am pretty good at ignoring that stuff!)

Anyway - off we go again..

I think I'll make my grocery list. Packing lunches for myself and two kids requires planning! LOL

Have a great week my friend. I'll be back to see how you do. Remember, you promised to come by more often now...
