Cate's Diary

Yes and I often wish there was a bunch of flowers . Here is one from my keypad but it might go as a ? . Hey I so relate to that low level depression. Thank god I have not had it for a long time but I’m glad you recognised it now and are feeling happy and motivated. I think probably the bar thing might have weighed on your mind and also you were missing your people through this pandemic . Good to see you happy

So good to hear that you're singing and humming and happily sorting and cleaning! All sounds like excellent signs!
I think I may have been suffering from low-level depression before
Yes it's funny how our mood can be declining without realizing--i guess like long-term weight gain!
I'm glad you're feeling well and happy and that Archie is such a great addition to your family :)

Thank you, Liza. I can see now that I was a bit down. I knew I needed a dog, but I sure got lucky with this little fellow. He slept in his crate without a peep from 11 to 7.30 again last night & is now happily sitting on another chair so I managed to get my laptop out this morning. I took him for 3 walks yesterday & we all slept well.
I think I have to refocus today as I haven't been counting my calories & not doing my squats. I need a daily reminder. Maybe I'll put my goals in my signature.....
We are going to the tip today & will take Arch for a walk after lunch.

Walking is great and as long as you have some inclines your leg muscles are going to get a workout as well.

Thanks, Petal & LaMa. I think I must have tired Archie out yesterday as he slept all evening on my lap & then we woke him at 7.30 when we came out & he's sound asleep again after his breakfast. He hasn't even been to the toilet yet since last night.
It's really frosty again this morning. (-2 to 11oC today).
G & I will get some wood today for A, our eldest grandson but will wait until the frost lifts a bit.
Cals yesterday were a bit high as we had our Sunday night treats 1729
Steps 8,506 ( 83 active minutes, 15 floors)
Today will be a better day, food-wise.

Thanks, Em. Archie is happy when he knows where we are. Right now, he's on my lap. Sorry, Arch. It's time I moved!

Even with your treats your cals were very good Cate . Haha our old dog hated going out too Wd had to push him out .

Petal- I think I need to drop my cals a bit though. I actually have to pick Archie up usually, take him outside & push him towards his toilet area. It's great that he is house-trained, especially being a boy dog.
Haha 101. Yes, I think Archie has landed on his feet, but we can't believe we got so lucky with him. He's 5 years old and has taken to us & his new routine like a duck to water.
We're taking him with us into town today, which will be interesting. He will be home on his own for most of tomorrow so G thought we should take him today. We will have to leave him in the car for a few very short periods, but he seems happy with that. We will also most probably have lunch outside at my favourite GF restaurant. This will be a first for us & for Archie. I am going to get him one of those can't knock over water bowls to have in the car. We'll go to the pet shop first thing as I need to exchange a couple of things & will get him another coat. I loved the one I bought for him, but it's too big. We'll have him with us to try them on.
We are hoping to buy a new lounge suite today. Our recliner chairs are well & truly tatty & have lost so many springs. We may buy two couches or just one & 2 recliners. We'll see.
I had better get moving. It's cold......There is such a frost, but it should be a lovely, sunny day.

My vote would be for two recliners, unless one of you doesn't actually like them of course. But that's probably because I always occupy one when I'm staying with my parents. Funny though: writing that I realize I never even considered buying one for myself :D Have fun in town!

Sounds like it should be a fun shopping day--hope all goes well and you find some good stuff!
