Thanks, Amy. I'm not really here either. We're just heading home ( 3 hr drive) & will most probably come back Sunday. R now has diahrroe & they are going to put him in an isolation ward. It never rains, but it pours. We're having a " day off" for G's birthday. We have left him in good hands & he has a great support system.
 
Cate I hope he is improved by the time you get back on Sunday . Get some well needed rest and happy birthday to G for tomorrow x
 
Very glad that you're confident in the hospital and medical team - continued good wishes for him and for you and G, regaining health and equilibrium after turmoil. Hugs.
 
That's brilliant news Cate . He just need time to work thst infection out hopefully. May he have a very speedy recovery now and hope G had a good birthday afterwards .
 
Thanks, Petal, Jack & Rob. He is now tube-free. He may be able to go home today. We're not sure what we are doing yet. We could go down there today & stay in a hotel for 2 nights or go down tomorrow for one. G needs to be home Tue night. I have a sore throat & am a bit chesty. Coming home with us is an option too. I'll give him the options & see.

He's home but I haven't heard from anyone. I have no idea what we are doing. I went for a walk, which was nice, but was too distracted to really benefit from it. At least he is home!
 
Very glad indeed to hear so much good news of R's recovery. That was a tumultuous, high-tension time, for sure - and of course tensions remain. I know you're too sane to not look after yourself, but even so, here's an unnecessary exhortation to look after yourself! And a hug for good measure! :hug2:
 
Thanks everyone. He needed us back so we drove down again this morning. G has done some cooking & K will be here after she finishes work & will eat with us. G & I are booked into a hotel tonight. We think we'll drive back home again tomorrow evening and return on Thursday morning. G has a c ommitment on Wednesday & I have my friend's husband's memorial service Wed afternoon. It's R's birthday on Friday.
 
Cate good you can come and go and help out as needed. You are all headed in the right direction. You have a lot on this week so you make sure you have some self care time and don't get too exhausted. Big hugs to you xxxx
 
What Petal said. A three-hour drive isn´t nothing but I´m sure being able to actually do something rather than sit around and wait for news has its advantages as well.
