Cate's Diary

Sounds like a lovely day! I bet living at the beach would be great for your allergies. It always makes me feel so much better down by the ocean. I hope you can take it easy with house work - it'll keep!! Hope the flu clears up quickly now!!! Are you starting to pack for the vacation? :)

Marsia- I won't be pushing myself, that's for sure! I have a load of washing going, did the dishes & tidied up the dining table & am back on my chair with the kettle going!
I have started packing, sort of. I have made a list & have been putting things together in one spot. I might do that in a spare room now I think. I will try not to take too much stuff. 15 kg is usually what we travel with each. We're allowed 30 kg.

11 Days is a long time to not feel well :\
Hopefully it will be gone soon, it's good you're seeing an improvement and very good you had a talk about the perfume!

Being sick is an excellent reason to put off cleaning and I'm glad you did. The good thing is that cleaning's much more satisfying when it's actually necessary.

Wow, such restraint packing half of what you are allowed. I struggle to get the bags so they are a few pounds lighter than max. We pack snorkel gear and everything but the kitchen sink.

Glad you took to the comfy chair and tea!!

Thanks, M2M. LaMa & Marsia.
We have been doing some housework in shifts, with rests in between, so have achieved quite a bit.
We always pack light. I have been researching packing even lighter. I still always take clothes that I never wear. I'm not taking any black clothes this time & am only taking blue & beige & some coloured tops. one pair of blue sneakers, a pair of blue skechers & a beige pair of slip ons. That should do the trick, shoe-wise. I wouldn't mind getting a beige, light-weight jacket before we go. I'm going shopping on Thursday. I have a very light-weight merino blue cardigan. I might do a clothes try on this week to see if I can narrow it down a bit.

Sounds sensible! I usually try for 3 outfits, one of them fit for emergency fancy-ish wear, wherever I´m going, with a sweater vest, coat, and undershirts to be able to adapt to the weather being colder than my hard-wired optimism expected. Then again the past few years I´ve mostly had to pack for "a week at my parents´ place", which is childishly easy because I can always borrow things from my mom or my younger sister in an emergency.

I just watched a video last week showing how someone could take 4 pieces of clothes and turn it in to 13 different outfits...I sat there with my mouth open thinking .... I would NEVER have been able to figure that out lol

Picking clothes that mix & match colorwise sounds like the perfect way to do it!

One thing I hadn't thought of is when we get back to Melbourne in May I will need a warm outfit as it will most probably be freezing. A wind jacket would be handy......
OK. I'm still not well. I'm on my second dose of antibiotics & it's high time this bug went to buggery where it belongs. I'm sick of feeling sorry for myself.
22 days to go until our holiday.
I'm going to be catching up with an old friend from the WLF forum in Greece. How exciting is that?

I know!
I told the doc which antibiotic works for me & that I always need a repeat. It's being very persistent though :(
I am so, so, so over this bug!

So sorry you have been sick for so darn long. Does sitting in the sun help you at all? sometimes when I am really feeling cruddy I take a blanket outside and sit in the sun and something about the combo of the fresh air and warmth from the sun really helps. Hope this clears soon!!! That's wonderful you can visit a forum friend in Greece - I hope you meet over some wonderful Greek food!!

Thanks, Marsia. I have been doing that. This bug must go away soon. Grrr. I'm about 80% today.
I'm getting excited about catching up with Jess in Greece. She lives in Athens & we have a free day there on a Saturday.

I went downhill mid-morning & have had shocking diarrhoea all day. Make that 80%, more like 70% :(
Only 3 weeks to go & I had better start getting better soon!

Really sorry to hear that Cate. Maybe find a good book and curl up so you don't get tempted to hop up and do too much? Hugs and healing!!

Hey Cate, so sorry to read that you've been feeling so unwell! That's really awful right before a trip. But it sounds like you have some time to get before you leave. That's so great that you'll be meeting up with a WLF friend in Greece! Small world! Get better soon.

Thanks, Marsia, LaMa & PLB.
Having such an awful day yesterday really worried me as I had felt that I should be so much better. My system sure got cleaned out.
I woke this morning feeling a lot better than I was yesterday. Maybe it was a reaction to the antibiotics. I have one more day left out of the ten days.
My head is a lot clearer. I started putting the wax stuff in my right ear last night to loosen it up. Fingers & toes crossed that I'm on the mend!
Edit: Stomach still unsettled. Had a coughing fit & then felt awful again. *sigh*- I will get there, but sooner rather than later would be good!
