Thanks Jen. I almost abandoned after 6 holes but glad I pushed myself through. It's great exercise & now that I have changed my attitude, great fun :)
Boy, have I had a very lazy day today!
 
I am feeling better about my body already this year, without feeling obsessed. I had a struggle one night where I really wanted chocolate, but I resisted. Another night I ate the remainder of the "naked" ginger & one ginger snap, but other than that I haven't felt like pigging out. It's the 23rd of Jan & I feel like I started the year how I want to continue with it. I have not weighed for over a week, as the moon & the stars have not felt in alignment :D
The real reason is a bit more mundane than that, but let's say, things haven't moved at the right time for me to weigh. There's no hurry. I feel happy.

I lost today though! I bought some cheese and chive cottage cheese to have for lunch with some crackers & it was horrible. I will give it away tomorrow. I then had a small chocolate bar(milk chocolate & yucky). Not great. I will be kind. I stuffed up. I'm over it.
I'm happy you're happy. What's the point of doing this if the process makes us miserable?
Absolutely Cory. I have my mind set on enjoying life. I can't believe how much I got bogged down last year.
 
A small chocolate bar is not too bad. Cottage cheese and crackers are perfectly acceptable. I really am delighted that the year is going well for you.
 
It's all food and you've got to eat. Maybe my thinking is wrong, but when I replace optimum nutrition calories with some, perhaps non-optimal calories, I satisfy the appetite for both the craving as well as for the food. Maybe it's just my excuse for not counting calories. I do believe that I have reduced appetite for other foods after what many believe are poor choices and the result in the caloric balance is a wash. I would definitely put cottage cheese on the list of excellent food. I have my own ideas about cheat days but I won't clutter your diary with my thoughts like I did OneEyedJacks.

Where I was there was a very limited choice & when I found the cottage cheese to be almost inedible I looked around at the alternatives(pkts of chips & milk chocolate bars) & chose the chocolate. Ugh! Next week I will take my own lunch. If I'm ever going to have chocolate it should be good quality.

I'm about to head for golf. I have a lunch packed- cucumber, tomato, celery, some tasty cheese, a pickled onion & some crackers, plus some blueberries, a strawberry & some plums. I'll eat a banana after 9 holes. Better scoot!

My housemate was a fruit nut and she had great skin. I'm sure you do too! Enjoy the day.

I played the best 9 holes of golf that I ever have. If I had been able to sustain it for 18 holes I would have ended up with a net 55, which would have been crazy. I still had a net 69, with a penalty, so am very happy with my golf today. If only, if only........At least I know that I am capable of playing really good golf. Happy golf is a really good game.
 
Happy golf is a bit like your happy hiking LaMa. It could catch on :)
G & I will be having a fairly quiet day today. We both played golf in the heat yesterday & it does sap your energy. I feel happily tired today & am not hurting anywhere. Happy golf also results in fewer aches & pains as you are not gripping the clubs hard.
