Cate's Diary

You don´t sound sorry for yourself.
Trust me, I was. I do bottle things up & talk about my problems in here, rather than to anyone else. I'll make a new appointment soon. We have too much on at the moment. I'll wait until after the 27th of Feb. G & I are running the annual vets tournament(100 people) & we have so much to do! We bought most of the prizes yesterday & some of the food.

Hi, Jen. We all need to find our own inspiration, but it helps to know we have one another's support as well.

"Yes, dear!"
You made me smile, LaMa, but I also just booked an appointment for Tuesday, the 6th of March :D xo

Sat- thorough house-clean with G. Feel much better about my surrounds now.
Sun- played golf with G in a comp up the coast & played the worst I have played in a long, long time. We played with the men's president of that club & the women's president & she was a very good golfer. I was SO out of sorts & feel embarrassed about my attitude really. I was just not feeling myself at all. I think I redeemed myself once I was off the course & in the clubhouse & we had some lovely conversations, but I look back in horror at my game & my moaning. I was in a lot of pain & was very stiff & sore, but that is no excuse. I'm going to do some more research into natural arthritis treatment as I can't take any anti-inflammatories in the NSAID family. One of our friends from another club said she has her husband & dog :rotflmao:on rosehip. I'll look into it now. I just ordered some online.
We have a day at home today thank goodness. I don't feel so out of sorts today.

While you're at it, may I suggest you check your diet for excessive histamine? In times when inflammation is high throughout your body even someone who isn't intolerant might benefit from a reduction. I hope you feel better soon.

I hate those days. Where nothing just feels right. I really hope you can find something to help your arthritis.

No NSAIDS? Yikes.

Less sugar, less processed food, stress reduction. Fish oil helps too, I think.

Hot baths always make my joints feel better :)

I checked that LaMa & almost everything I consume is very high in histamine  I think the biggest culprit will be the little cherry tomatoes that we have been buying from a roadside stall. They are scrumptious, but I think I knew that I shouldn't be eating them. When I checked the lists of high histamine food I eat almost all of them. Pickled anything, avocados, mature cheese........ :(

Thanks, Cory. I do too. It's really hard to explain to anyone & when you feel like that you know you should stay at home & not inflict it on anyone else. I really felt so bad!

No NSAIDS at all. I am very allergic to them. (Chest pains, struggling for breath...once I had hallucinations. It was scary stuff!)
I am going to have to try to change my diet drastically. In Summer we eat many things that are high in histamines (think antipasta-olives etc), whereas in the colder weather it's more veg & meat- stews, soups etc. I take fish oil every day, plus glucosamine.

I am starting to feel a bit better. We have a big tournament on Tuesday of next week & my stress will lessen once that is over.

Glad to hear you´re feeling better. In my experience a reasonable amount of tomatoes is a LOT less bad than mature cheese or those scrumptious olives. But starting relatively strictly may be helpful anyway.

Thanks, LaMa & Jen.
I ate plainer yesterday- no citrus or pickled or fermented food. It wasn't a great day, but it wasn't terrible either. I slept OK. I'm about to head for golf. I couldn't possibly play any worse than I did on Sunday. Instead of trying for too much I'm just going to aim for the middle of the fairway. Let's see what happens there! :D

Just keep it between the lines...or bunkers...and you'll do great...

Cate <3 I've missed you, hope things are okay with you and you played better golf than you did on Sunday ;) xx
Thanks, sweetie. It's lovely having you back in here! I played much better golf & enjoyed the company a lot more too. Playing with the woman who took her golf very seriously indeed, made me appreciate the women at my local club a lot more. I felt more at home after the experience, which is a good thing.
Hi Cate,
Remember what they say about golf- it can ruin a nice walk in the park-lol.
Hi, cowboy. It's lovely having you back too. I miss my WLF faves when they take a break from the forum. I know life gets in the way :)
My walk in the park wasn't ruined yesterday, thank goodness. Our course is very pretty & I didn't get into too much trouble.

I only went into one bunker Rebel :D & I got out with a beautiful single shot. I played with a lot of confidence. After playing on a course on Sunday with lightning fast greens I found I was under hitting most of my putts, but overall I played fairly well. I drove really well- mostly down the middle. I do love golf but may just stick to home territory mostly.
