Oh, it is LaMa, now that I am back home with my poor aching feet up! I have chosen well, so am not disappointed.

That's why I am petitioning The United Nations to make Christmas every 4 years.:cool:
 
I just got home from an AGM held at our club & actually had a lovely day. I wore one of my new tops(blue & white) & got a lovely compliment. I think I should wear less black & more colour. Some golfers played 9 holes afterwards & I walked around with them & then did the bar after.It was very hot! We had some really interesting conversations afterwards about travel, books, music..... A very good day :)
 
So far, so good with 2018. Is it my new attitude? I'm really not sure.
LaMa- B was there today & was doing her usual stressing out & I was able to tune out & not let her get to me one tiny bit. I have made this conscious decision to let things go over my head & not take on other people's stresses & as I said, so far, so good. :)
 
Good for you for buying a few things for yourself! You deserve it! Also, great job on tuning out others negativity. That can be sooo hard to do!!!
 
Thanks Jen. I love my new purchases but shocked myself really. I felt really good in the top I wore yesterday. I only bought cotton & linen. They are so much cooler!
LaMa- I know, right. I have made a breakthrough! Thanks for being so supportive while I have been going through all the bs with the club! Not my circus, not my monkeys is now my mantra:D
I woke up at 3 am with Asthma & got up for a while. I just ate an orange & a mandarin. I think I'll be able to go back to sleep now, so will say goodnight xo
 
That sounds like a wonderful day. I'm so glad you're getting to the point where you can let the club drama roll off your back.
 
Thanks, Em, Cory & LaMa. It feels so good to actually not feel tangled up in the politics of the club anymore. It's a real breakthrough!
I got back to sleep straight away thank goodness. I'm glad I got up though. It helps. An orange is my go to in the middle of the night if I end up wide awake.
Feeling pleasantly lazy today.
 
I find it interesting that you talk about wearing a lot of black, and yet you have a really colour-infused top in your profile pic. Maybe your style is brighter than you think! :D
 
:D Em-I still wear a lot of black & the top in my pic is me trying to wear bright colours. My wardrobe is starting to look very interesting & colourful. I used to wear plain clothes- no patterns at all if I could help it & am really changing my outlook on what suits me & what I'm comfortable wearing. I have always been way too self-conscious.
 
G & I took the kids out for lunch again today & spent the afternoon with them. Have had a lovely, but lazy day. Not enough steps, but no wine & under my calories, so that's ok as I'm playing golf again tomorrow with G at a course I have not played before. I'm feeling really good still :)

That's great Cate - I have taken the same approach in recent years. Doesn't it feel liberating? We have a short time to spend here, may as well enjoy it.
 
Nothing wrong with a lazy day! At least you stayed under on cals. For some reason, I tend to get more tempted on those days ... maybe because my mind isn't busy.
 
Thanks, Cory, Misty & Jen. I had a far from lazy day yesterday & played 18 holes of golf at a different course in town & it was HOT! Had an excellent day. I'm too tired to post in other diaries today xoxo
