Cate's Diary

I'm glad that it didn't get into your place TT. I don't want to imagine how awful it must be to have your whole house submerged :(

I have enjoyed having a breather & not having to go anywhere for a few days. It was a welcome change, even considering the circumstances. All is well with the GK's. They & their Mum were put up in a spa cottage for a couple of weeks & chose to stay there last night, rather than go to their Dad's. He thinks they were enjoying the novelty of it all. He stayed with his GF & is enjoying a couple of days off work.

I was going to play golf tomorrow with G, but will see how wet the course is when we go out there today. We'll take our re-cycling to the tip & get the re-cycling from the clubhouse & have a good look around. It's a board event & you play as a pair. If we won it would probably cause a commotion as it was traditionally a men's event because women were once classified as associates & not members. We are now full members. I don't think we could win it, but I wouldn't mind putting it to the test :) I don't like playing when the course is really wet though. It's only going to get to 9C tomorrow. Brrr!

I'm feeling back to normal today. If I play golf tomorrow I won't fast, but if I don't I will.
Bye for now, xoxo Cate

 Down with the patriarchy

:D You made me smile LaMa. In fact, I'm still smiling :D
The comp has been put off until another day which is good as it rained again today. I will play then & hopefully we will win. I am very grateful my husband is not like so many. He is a good man.
I'm still smiling!

Thanks, Q. I won't be playing today as it's currently sleeting! I don't think there will be any golf today. If they go ahead I'll leave G there & go back & pick him up this afternoon. It is freezing! *sigh* Winter :(
On a good note- I woke up feeling really good, but a little hungry, but am doing my FD anyway. I ate a bowl of FD veggie soup that G made me the other day. It would barely have any calories(no meat, lentils etc) & is delicious.
I'll go to the supermarket & stock up on veg mainly. Tomorrow I am going to make some more protein balls, now that I have lots of very healthy ingredients. I will keep track of what I put in & count all the calories, so I know exactly how many each one is. They will be for non-FD.
Almost time to go. Brrrr!!

Thanks Delsid. I am wrapped up warm. It is absolutely freezing out there.
Golf was cancelled & we are both at home reading etc. We are going to visit our son & the GK's later this afternoon. I abandoned the fast at lunchtime. Had a low-calorie light lunch, but felt the need to join G in a proper dinner tonight. We didn't have a good morning out at the club. It was not his decision to cancel golf, but he(& I) copped all the flack. You have to respect the people who do almost all the work out there & they said the course shouldn't be played on. Whenever these situations arise, G feels more resolute about quitting in October, so that's a plus. He's going to let the Committee know on Monday night that we will both be resigning in Oct. :)
Back to reading........xoxo Cate

Ended up having a lovely day. We visited D & the GK's & took them some food. There wasn't much in the house. The littlies love my "pizza sandwiches". They are just grain bread with tasty cheese, mild salami & black olives, but apparently are "the best." D had taken them fishing in the afternoon. They were really sweet & we enjoyed the cuddles & the interaction with them.We have such a lovely family. D needed some TLC too. His ex is giving him hell & he is worried it will affect his relationship with his GF. He is a very honest person, but he usually keeps his personal feelings well to himself. He let me know yesterday that T is the one for him. He can't see them moving in together though for a few years until their teenagers have left home. That's a bit of a shame, but very logical. I hope it works out for them. I like her. She's quite zany & is good for him.
I'm not sure what I'm doing today. I know it's a home day, though. :D It's cold, but the sun is shining, which is nice.
Time to waste some time on FB. I quite like the new options with headings. I love customising stuff to suit my interests. I know most of it is time wasting, but still like doing it. I never said I was a really logical person :D
Love to all, xoxo

When bad things happen we must be very grateful for everything that we have, instead of dwelling on the bad. Life is good, people are good.I am lucky. Oh so very lucky!

Such a great reminder, really. This is really hard for me, I tend to be pretty pessimistic when it comes to the world, and the whole "why do bad things happen to good people" mindset in general. Another reason why I really love your inspirational sayings thread!!!

Good to hear the kids are doing well and your son is feeling so happy with his GF. Hugs for the rest of it.

Thanks Miss Fit. I'm glad you like that thread. I would hate to think how much time I have spent on it over the years. Finding quotes & articles etc helps me too!
Thanks LaMa. G & I just do what we can to help, but try to wait until we are asked. D is such a good dad!
We had a good day, but I do feel lazy. Tomorrow we are playing golf. Unfortunately we also have to go back for a committee meeting in the evening. (5th last one!)
'night all, xoxo

Haha committee meetings are boring no matter what they relate to , right? I used to sit on a bullshit committee at my old uni and OH MY GOD was it painful!

I'll check out that thread!

I did thanks, Cory. I played fairly well & was 5th on a countback. I prefer playing in the club comp, rather than the women's.

Varied company is almost always better. Be it gender, age, nationality, education or anything else, we tend to be kinder and more nuanced when we're not just in our own in-group.
