Cate's Diary

I've never been a big night time eater. I can eat dinner at 6 and as long as I have a small treat or mint after I am good for the night. Day time at work is my downfall. I could nibble all day there...lol.

Enjoy your round of golf! and your dinner tonight sounds yummy as well! :beerchug:

Any reason to be retaining water? You´ve been doing this for a while and you weigh every week, don´t you? You can´t overeat by 14,000 calories without noticing so it must be at least part water.

I'm fairly sure my weekends eating(& making & sampling protein balls) just caught up with me.
That's probably exactly what it is. Weird how the body just decides "Yup, I think I'll inflate today, just to make your pants hurt" out of the blue. That's what happens to me, anyway...

I just typed a long post & must have pressed something I shouldn't have as most of it disappeared! :(
Yep, I think it's fluid. I feel much better today & am doing another fast day. I'll weigh tomorrow. I think it was the 3 meals with rice I had at the weekend. My stomach is rumbling madly & fasting today may be very difficult. I'll have a small lunch I think.
I had posted my cholesterol results for the last 3 years & it took me way too long. I'm too crabby about losing them to re-type it today! :(
I have a day at home on my own today as G is playing golf. The 3 guys he's playing with(father & his 2 sons) are calling in for a game of snooker afterwards, so I had better do some more housework. They are very neat & tidy!

Caved in at 11.30am & made myself an oat bread, avocado, spinach, cheese, chilli & hot salami toastie! It was SOOOO good! That's the 1st time I have given up on a fast day ?? Oh well! I'm not going to snack though, just because I broke it. I'll have some fruit later only.

I love how they put an yearly comparison on your exam report...I only wished I had that thru my hospital/healthcare plan...I have to keep old exams just in case since they don't hold anything on their records after 6 months. Only private physicians will do that = /

I'm with Tete...I usually do my dinners early because of my digestive issues, so it's kind of an involuntary fasting since I go from 5:30-6pm until 9am without eating, I do it usually 5 days a week (leave 2 days either for a dinner out or an early breakfast). I don't know if this would be too hard for you, but maybe trying different ways of fasting...our bodies do get used to things easily, and it's important to trick it once in a while in order to stimulate to the right direction.

PS: Your meal with lamb and veggies, yummm, yummm...I am dying to make some, had that for the first time on Easter this year and it was Oh, so delicious. :jump:
PPS: Once you figure out that GF cracker recipe send my way, pleeeease?!? I've been doing seed crackers (which still contains a small amount of wheat but are healthier than the GF option that they sell at the supermarket here - 89calories for 7 seed crackers). Again good, but that's why I supplement with a tapioca (you should look for white tapioca flour)...that's gluten free and you can put all kinds of seasoning/spread/ham/cheese/jam/butter you would like - it holds less calories than bread or crackers...it truly is a must if you are intolerant to Gluten but still crave the salty of bread!

I think I could do that fairly easily CaliGirl. I'll experiment with GF crackers next week if I get a chance & post in here if they're successful.
I rode 5km on my exercise bike to compensate for breaking my fast early. I'll look on it as a successful 16 hour fast (7.30 pm last night, until 11.30 this morning) rather than a failure. I have eaten an orange & an apple since & am resisting all the goodies I have in my house. With G not here I may have been tempted, but I will not succumb! We have another dinner, just like last night's to have tonight. Yum!

Thanks LaMa. I haven't read her book for a month or so, but her book really did resonate with me. I have almost always been someone who tries to turn negatives into positives & it is so important with "dieting". I never ever want to feel that I have given up & can no longer imagine doing so.
I have had a really good day. I did lots of housework, paperwork, exercise & a fair bit of time in here, followed by some quality social time when G got back from golf. He bought me a jacket for golf while he was there. He has a blue "puffer" vest, which also fits me & suits me & he had a look to buy me one. There was only a long-sleeved one in grey, black & red(my colours). He rang me up to ask if I wanted it & I said don't bother. He bought it anyway as he really liked it. I tried it on & it's very comfortable & nice. I told him we can share both & he thought that was a good idea. It's handy being the same size. We are also the same shoe size.
G is turning the TV on, so I'll head, xoxo

I just re-read my last post & it sounded like I was rude to G. I had wanted a sleeveless vest & thought long-sleeves would be too restrictive.
We are about to head to Hobart & the Ute is loaded up with wood for our son, a kennel for his future dog & a couple of heaters that I bought very cheaply off my BIL. G is playing 8-ball again & we are booked into a hostel for the first time ever. I hope it's ok as it would be a good cheap alternative to staying in a hotel when we go down there. I will miss staying at R's. He now has a house full.
I had better get moving. I won't take my laptop, but will keep in touch on my phone briefly.
Much love to everyone, xoxo Cate

I didn´t read it as rude, Cate, I just thought it was really sweet of him to bring it anyway :) He obviously knows you well. Have fun!

That is one of the oddest sounding sandwiches I've ever heard of...but it sounds really good.

He is sweet LaMa, but there may have been other forces at play I think. Guess who wore the new jacket at the weekend?
It's a delicious sandwich chef- my usual. I only have a tiny amount of hot salami, cut up into small pieces, lots of spinach(shredded) & 1/2 an avo & I use Sambal Oelek for the chilli.
Thanks tete, Delsid & Butterfly. The hostel was not fun, but it did the job. First & last time I think. I hardly slept at all Fri night but did Sat night(with earplugs).
I'm a bit too tired to tell you about it this morning & I can't connect to the internet on my laptop I'll try to précis it all-
G didn't play well at all. The hostel is often used to try to get homeless (& mostly mentally ill?) people off the streets( which is a good thing), it was assumed by a few people that we were managers( bit embarrassing but no big deal), our room was really tiny & very cold, the bedding smelled of very strong laundry powder, it rained & rained , the drive home was awful, our things got wet on the back of the ute.
It felt so good to get home!
D had come up & got our fire going
The power went out overnight & we couldn't cook breakfast( I had some yoghurt), our roof has leaked( in our walk-in wardrobe ) our little dog pooped in the living-room overnight( we let her sleep there over the w/e), but it is still good to be home! The power just came back on!
I'm going to have another crack at connecting to the internet on my laptop. This is too teensy! .
......not having much luck with that! I know it's a first world problem ??
It's very foggy & gloomy today, but at least it has stopped raining!
R, our younger son was good, which is such a relief. He seems to be enjoying his new job & is relaxed & dare I say, happy.
I give up for now with the computer. Will check out diaries briefly on my phone xoC
Wrong. It must be a problem with the Telstra network as I can't post this either
Raining again :(
I'll just post this when I can. I can't even look at diaries

O wow, you had a hell of a weekend! Sorry to hear it, but I´m sure having R do well made it all worth-while. Hugs and I hope everything works again soon.

Oh dear, sometimes when it rains it really pours, doesn't it (check out the pun ;) )

Hope things fall into place soon and it stops raining.

Love love!! xxx
