Cate's Diary

Thank you Delsid, Chef & LaMa xoxo
It will be a huge funeral. Our friend was a sports journalist & had a wonderful sense of humour. People rang him up with funny stories about their friends. We used to do it regularly back when we owned the pub. He was so popular. There was nothing NOT to like about him. Boy, it will be huge. There will be lots of laughs along with the tears.
The 3rd old friend I rang the other day will be there. He & his wife & G & I used to go to Melb for a w/e almost every year to watch the football, go shopping etc & something strange happened one year. They obviously were having problems & they had a blue & the rest of the trip was stilted & uncomfortable & we haven't been away together since. We never got any explanation & they were embarrassed at the time. I rang the other day to make sure that they knew about T's death. It will be good to rekindle the friendship, albeit under sad circumstances. Good friendships should survive embarrassing moments.
Weight.....YAY!!!! 79.5kg :D Haven't done my squats yet as had to go down to D's & get the GK's early so that D can go to work early/get back early, so we can get to the funeral.

Sounds like the funeral is going to be a wonderful memorial service for an amazing person. That is bound to help his family...

And re-kindling old friendships is a great feeling, I'm planning on meeting up with a girl I used to look after when she was a kid, the last time I saw her she was 10...That was 9 years ago :D She was a super cool kid and she sounds like a cool teenager.

Good friendships should survive embarrassing moments.

I second that!! :)

Weight.....YAY!!!! 79.5kg

MASSIVE YAY indeed!!! Awesome!!!

Thank you Delsid. You are a sweetie xoxo
It was a lovely funeral & we had a great catch up. It was a really good day!

I tsays a lot about your friend that the funeral was such a good day. I know there were tears as well as smiles but it also gave everyone a chance to catch up with everyone else

Thanks Polly, Butterfly & LaMa xoxo
Connecting people when you´re dead is possibly the best legacy ever.
That's true. It inspired us to organise a get-together next Easter so that we all catch-up, but preferably without anyone dying.
20 squats done this morning, off to golf again today.

G & I both played woeful golf. It was cold, it was hot, cold/hot etc. It was soooo windy. We are out there playing golf & pushing our buggies around- no batteries & about an 8km walk. It may have been crap golf, but it is much better than sitting on the couch. :D

I forgot to say, but at the wake on Friday I got a few really lovely comments from women that made me feel really good. "You're looking great" I got 3 times! I know that at the weight I am now I look really healthy. I know that I feel slim at this weight & even only 2kg more I feel fat. I'm sticking with doing 5:2 as it seems to be doing the trick.
G was called up to play Pennant golf today, so I decided to do a fast today. It's only 8.05am & I'm hungry already. I can do this  They always have lunch afterwards & it will be generous. I took a soup out of the freezer & I'll have 2 bowls of that today.
It's a windy, chilly day again & I won't be doing much. I may ride my bike today, depending on hunger...

Lovely comments like those are food for the soul, aren´t they? I´m sure they´ll help you get through this fast day. It´s only one day, remember?

Thanks LaMa & Polly. I was bored I must admit. I did 5km on my bike, rang my sister, did 20 squats & have had a second bowl of soup. It is only one day & the rewards are well worth it!

Good for you!! Keep at it :)

p.s. I haven't been in the forums lately, you're fasting ? What's your fasting program like?

Hi Butterfly. I factored in my second bowl of soup. It must have been salty as I was thirsty all night, drank about a litre of water & didn't sleep well.I woke with a headache.
Hi Misty. I have been following the 5:2 way of eating since August & have lost 7kg. It is not easy on fast days, but then the other 5 you don't feel like you're on a diet. Fast days I have up to 500 cals. It's tough. I usually abandon the plan to fast that day if I wake up ravenous, which I did yesterday. I think I should have abandoned yesterday, but it's done now.

We have to go do a function today at the club :( The guy who runs this comp is a bit of a pain & I had told G I wouldn't do the bar next time they came. Oh well.
I'll have a quick look about the diaries & then I had better scoot.
Love to all xoxo Cate
