Cate's Diary

hahahaha...Cate, are we connected through telepathy??? hahahha...me in Brazil, you in Australia...I just happened to ask you about your diet here, while you were writing down about it on my diary...HAHAHAHA, so funny!!

I need a southern "winter" home so I can just live in spring and summer year round. Your wearing shorts and I'm wondering if its too late to learn to knit so I can make a pair of socks that reach my crotch to keep my legs warm. Have fun golfing!!

That is funny CaliGirl! We are well & truly connected in WLF forum, in more ways than one. I think one of the best things about this forum, or this part of it, is that we do actually get to know one another fairly well. We share more than we do with some of the people close to us in "real life". We have much in common & there is a lot of mutual support. It's a strong community & I love it. I don't relate to everyone. That's not possible, but I try.

KP- I got sunburnt yesterday!! We were away 2 weeks & it was fairly warm, so when it was only going to be 20oC I decided to wear my new shorts & get a little bit of colour on my legs, as they are lily white. I didn't use any sunscreen, except for my face & neck & now the backs of my legs are very red! I will be using sunscreen from now on!

OK. The moon & the stars must be out of alignment as we were out at our first night of the 8-ball season last night & had an absolute dingbat rant & rave at us! We organise the 8-ball comp, do the rosters etc & this guy obviously felt like letting off steam. He gave me hell years back when we were running the pub & was barred from ours & many others apparently. I won't bother even being civil to him. He's a dickhead.

I feel quite relaxed again today. The women I played golf with yesterday were really pleasant, including the one from our club. I heard her telling a friend that she had a lovely day. Apparently she only likes to play with her friends & not women from other clubs, so it was a good thing. She was very friendly to me & she is one of those women who says her piece & never minces words. She has been very rude to me at times. She actually called me a Pollyanna yesterday which made me laugh. I had said that I try to find something positive in anything that goes wrong. She played the best she has played for a long time apparently so that was good. The other woman & I teased her all day by saying stuff like "well I hit it to the right & you hit it to the left, now G will show us how it's done." She enjoyed the banter I think.

Another lazy day coming up. Fast day 2 for the week. Got a few lovely comments yesterday at golf & at 8-ball. :)
xoxo Cate

Glad you had a good time, but boo on the sunburn and the dickhead. Theres always got to be someone to rain on the parade.

For some reason I really have a hard time picturing you as the type to call someone a dickhead so he must have been pretty bad.

Hi KP, LaMa & Oaks. Today was our 40th wedding anniversary & has been a VERY busy day, ending with a lovely evening with our older son D & our 2 younger grandkids. LOVELY evening!
My patience has been sorely tested this week, hence my use of the word dickhead. We mentioned him to our son & he said "Well, once a dickhead, always a dickhead!"
On Wednesday I was called a Pollyanna for always looking on the bright side! [emoji15]
Lost another .5kg since Tues, 1.5 since we got home Sunday- very happy about that!
Golf again tomorrow!
Like the angel idea in the sig, but have a feeling we will have so many angels they won't be allowed [emoji12]
Love to all, xoxo Cate

YOu might be right on that one about the angels, there are only 250 characters allowed in a sig including the bbc code so we might have to figure something else out!!!

I LOVE Pollyanna and the Glad Game! ;) :D lol

A Big Congrat's on 40 years!!

A rare thing these days!

Hubby and I are getting close to our 25th/Silver. :) Also a rare thing...lol

Thanks Tru. Still happy is the best thing. I'm very lucky.
LaMa & KP we'll work out our own system I'm sure. I don't think I will bother with changing my signature every day, as I may not remember to! Working out my plan is the hardest thing. I just want to keep on doing what I'm doing really.
Thank you Stacy- It is indeed a very rare thing these days. It was funny the other day to be laughed at for being positive, but I could be laughed at for far worse, that's for sure!

We had a great day at golf yesterday & also won Div 2. I had asked the newest women golfer to join G & I an older, very cheeky guy to play in 4-person Ambrose & we had a ball. Lots of laughs, lots of cheeky fun & a good result. She thanked me four times for asking her! After the 2nd I said "why wouldn't I ask you?" & when she said she was only new I told her that I had only been playing for 3 years & remember well how I felt when I first started. I was too afraid to ask anyone to play with me so was very grateful when they asked me. The 3rd time she thanked me, I told her that she really shouldn't be thanking me as I had a great time & that we will play together any time she wants to. The 4th time was a bit overwhelming. Perhaps she's not quite as confident as I thought she was!

G & I are having the day at home, doing almost nothing!
Day 1 of November.....hmmmm......my plan.........
My plan for November-
Continue with 5:2, having 2 "fast" days each week (if I miss one for any reason, then I do an extra the following week )
No more than 3 glasses of wine on non-fast days (none on fast days).
1 game of golf per week.
a 2nd game of golf or a practise game each week.
Limit internet to 3 hours per day(hardest one).

I think she just couldn´t believe she was having THAT much of a good time :) Time will tell, good luck for November!

Hi LaMa & KP ":grouphug: Happy Novemember to you 2 too & anyone else reading my diary. There are SOOO many diaries at the moment that I may just have to change my November plan already! I haven't even gone on FB yet!
I'm at the golf club all day today & it is my fast day. I have a Konjac noodle/vegetable/Venison mixture in the fridge & 100g of grapes with me. I can do this. I am really enjoying being 5kg lighter than the start of August. 5kg makes a big difference to how I feel. I may even start to see some fat come off the top of my legs. I'm better able to see them now my belly & boobs have all but disappeared :D
Love to you all. I had better go. Someone is meant to be here doing a bbq when the 1st group go past at about 10.30(20 mins time) & they are not here & I am trying very hard to stay relaxed. :chillpill: It's the woman who has been totally stressed out lately & her husband. I am starting to wonder if she may have had a heart attack!
Bye for now, xoxo Cate

Tru, Stacy & Oaks- I meant re the <3hrs on the Internet each day. I have scrapped that part of my challenge, as it would possibly mean my spending much less time in here & missing even more diaries than I have been lately :blush5: That can't happen. The "diet" part of my plan I must admit to feeling under control. That is good for a few reasons, but a few are-
a) It's my plan.
b) It's working!
c) I like feeling that I have control.
I think I will be able to do 5:2 into the forseeable future(I did have forever there, but amended it). When I get to where I feel I should not lose any more, then I'll drop it to 6:1. For me, it is perfectly doable. I have not eaten at all today yet & I have been smelling bbq since 11.30am. YES- she did turn up- just after I posted in my diary!
Better pretend I'm busy (even though I'm not being paid)
xo Cate

I feel you on the diaries being busy aspect! I have my favorites (of which you are in my top 5) and then there are some really good new ones. I'm really liking the feel of the diary section these days, its really come together as a very supportive community and I have a hard time not reading and responding and welcoming people.
Glad your lady for the bbq showed up!!
