Cate's Diary

That sounds like a wonderful night, Cate. I feel more positive energy just reading it. I moved across the country from my parents and I wish I could take advantage of spontaneous nights like that.

Life really is too good to waste, and it´s important to remind ourselves of that regularly. Family night sounds lovely, not even paying with a hang-over is almost too much to ask ;)

Hi & thanks Oaks, LaMa & Mystic- I thought I had posted in my diary before I left yesterday, but apparently not! :blush5: It was a lovely/crazy night. During the day on Wednesday I got "thank you" messages from both our sons, for the fun night. That is so sweet.

Yesterday I did the bar from 10am until about 5pm. I thought I would be working until much later, so was quite happy to get away when I did. I didn't find it very taxing.

We had a wild storm during the night- winds up to 100kph apparently & have lost some plants. It sounded scary at one stage. I'm glad our house is made of stone!

Having a relatively lazy day today, but will get on my bike. Bike? ....yes, it's here somewhere.....probably covered in cobwebs!

Glad you made through the storms ok! Where I live we're just about wrapping up winter (I hope). We had a slow winter with very little snow and then in February we got nailed with one storm after another. Not just a couple inches at a time either, we got feet at a time! Lots of houses suffered leaking roofs. Thankfully spring will be here soon! I'm so read for warmer weather!

We had a day like that here last summer, but also with rain/hail/lightening and tornado watches... AND we were camping in tents! Well, we ran to our vehicles to take shelter in them.
This was our tent after the storm (and yes, the water was ankle deep, and freezing!)

Our stuff was soaked (and full of hail) and it was so windy an outhouse and big wooden playground got toppled over!

I love stormy weather as long as everyone is safe. Nothing better than a walk along the beach when the wind is trying to throw you over! But hail and other violence? Not so much...

My ALL TIME favorite is during the summer when there's a humid breeze and you can feel a thunder storm brewing. I love sitting outside in that breeze and just waiting in anticipation for the thunder boomers. Once it gets too close though, I'm back inside. I love listening to it though.

It was really just incredibly windy! I love storms too :D

Had a good day yesterday- gardening, getting wood, reading..... It was a nice day.

Hi Mystic, LaMa& Jen xoxo

Had another good day yesterday & went to our local market(the monthly one.) Caught up with quite a few people I had not seen for a while. One had lost weight when I did(same program), but had regained most of it unfortunately. I remembered her struggling while she was on the diet. She is very nice & it was lovely to catch up. The woman who runs the market thanked me for my support, which was sweet. I have just promoted it on Facebook & put photos up etc, plus lobbied a bit to have our other market not clash with this one. 3 or 4 people yesterday told me how good I am looking. That is enough incentive for me to keep eating well! :D

The GK's are arriving soon so might not have time to type in diaries. Will have a quick look now xoxo Cate

I did, thanks Mystic. They really are lovely kids. I bathed our little dog & we visited Mum, with the GK's & our dog, before returning the GK's to their Mum at 3pm. Then we drove past my MIL's house, called in & got a quick tour of the reno's being done to it. It is so lovely that young friends of ours have bought her house & are so excited about moving in. They gave us our invite to their house-warming/baby shower & I rang today & cancelled a golf day that we had accepted already. It feels so positive that a lovely young couple, that both our sons are friends with, are expecting a baby together & have bought my MIL's house! It's wonderful. Our sons will get to visit them, play pool downstairs etc. It's a great continuity. My MIL would have loved it!

Played golf today, quite well, but my usual inconsistent self. Won the nearest-the pin on the only hole we had it & got 38 Stableford points. Not too shabby. Feeling quite fit & reasonably slim. Also did some more cleaning up at the golf club & made some young boys very happy as I gave them each a set of clubs & a couple of bags. They got lucky as they were walking past the clubhouse as I was tidying. I love de-cluttering!

I have been paying forward lately, without mentioning it to anyone. It makes you feel good. The other day, at the market, a guy stepped back to let me go ahead of him in the queue for coffee & I paid for his too. Easy, not expensive & a nice way of saying thank you for being a gentleman. There should be much more of it.

Hi Cate!!! Looks like you've been really busy. I'm glad your son is seeing someone, that's really positive that he has someone to talk to and figure out some things. Playing a lot of golf too I see, well done on all the exercise. And feeling slim :D

I've never tried golfing. I may have to give it a shot, but I'm sure I'd be very awkward looking! LOL I also do the pay it forward as much as possible. In the same way, either paying at the donut shop for the person behind us or through the toll booth. It does make you feel good to help others. :)

Hi Lucy, Mandy, LaMa & Jen. I woke up this morning feeling good, but you sure know how to make me feel even better! :blush5: Thank you :beating:

I always feel fairly tired the day after playing 18 holes of golf & it's good when we can spend the day at home. I'm not sure what we'll do today. We have a whole heap of old carpet, that was pulled up from my MIL's place (pure wool & great underfelt) and we plan on putting it down to suppress weeds & grass around our vegie beds. May not get that done today as it's a big job. I also have plants to plant out. We'll see how the day pans out. I also have some new books...;)

It's a beautiful, slightly chilly, but brilliantly sunny Autumn day. I will spend quite some time outside as I would hate to waste it. Lots of love, xoxo Cate
