Cate's Diary

Looking forward to some action around here from some of my "old" wlf friends. I'm jumping on the bandwagon! 2013........."ff"-fit & fabulous! Sounds good to me! ;) xoxo Cate.
PS Have had a GOOD day. :D

Go Cate, no wine for a whole week!!! Your trip is coming up soon, you must be feeling so excited - I wish I was a fly in your bag!! :)

Hi Amy & Mands, I got through day 1! That's a good start. Not drinking any wine, makes it so much easier to stay under my cals. Very happy to be going to bed hungry! xo Cate

Yeah the beers at this point are pretty much my only calorie land mine. Good work on forgoing the vino.

& forgoing wine when our older son was here for the night was a biggie for me. He & I have been known to over-indulge together on more than a few occasions! Day 1 done & dusted. Phew! I can see at least 1kg disappearing this week, especially as I feel REALLY determined! Cheers, Cate

ya Cate- U go girl! ...day1 no wine done... vacation so near....woo hoo ... !

:seeya: Hey Mum

Check you out and your new found va va voom :)

It is so cool that the old family are back on board. This is just what this blob needs.

Why, oh, why did we decide to do something so bloody drastic on our first week?!!!! How do we follow that next week lol

Maryann- Day 2 done & dusted, but boy was it hard. It was SOOOO hot yesterday! That holiday is my carrot- I can do this, I can do this. One week without wine.......should be easy.......xo

Kate-I know, I know!! We're having a heat wave & a nice chilled glass of wine at the end of the day would be LOVELY!! Because we're CRAZY obviously & all felt like we needed a proverbial kick up the butt! xoxoMum

I'm home from golf & feeling SOOOO tired! My partner & I didn't play at well- she has torn tendons in her shoulder & I have a sore foot. I think I will have to make a doctor's appointment & maybe go for an x-ray as the Podiatrist thought I may have bone damage & I'm starting to think so too. I came home feeling really down & it may be that I am just tired so will try not to over-think it. Tomorrow is another day. I did lose 1kg this morning, which should make me smile! Bye for now xo Cate

The sooner you get that foot checked the sooner it can get the right treatment so it can heal and the sooner you can get back to pain free golf :)

Very true, Tru! I have a doc's ap't on Friday & will ask for an x-ray. I need to know & do need it fixed, if that's possible. Hope the flooding has stopped up your way Tru, cheers, Cate

Hey Cate - congrat's on the 1kg. down ! yay !
skinny-minnie by vacation ....
..hope the doctor can help with your foot - not fun to be in pain ... :(

Thanks Maryann :D I think playing golf, while in pain, does not auger well for playing GOOD golf. I have a feeling my partner may not be well enough to play in the 2nd week of the foursomes championship next week &, although I would miss playing, I'm sure my foot would not. It needs a rest.
I am feeling much better today & must have been over-tired yesterday.
I got through day 3 wine-free, including an evening at a pub, watching our 8-ball(pool) team win a final, to get to the grand final. I got breathalysed on the way home which was funny. Poor policeman! What a disappointment it must have been! Back road, just saw me leave the pub , in my LH's old car........reading 00 :smilielol5:
Chilling out at home on my own today. Going to ride my exercise bike & do a bit of housework. I have my car back, as of the middle of last night, when our OS returned it. It has been WEEKS without it! His car hopefully is FIXED! I have missed my car. I even went & said "good morning" to it.
I will do a little "packing" today as well I think. It's time to start laying things out on the spare double bed, in preparation for our trip :D :D
Bye for now xoxo Cate

Got a little side-tracked today 'studying' for our trip  & had better go get on my bike right now!! Had a very healthy eating day & feel better organised about our holiday now, so that's good! xo

Hey Mum :)

You are totally rocking it right now :hurray: I am well impressed :) congrats on the loss :)

I totally love the fact that you were breathalised when you were on a wine ban!!!! :smilielol5: Brilliant!!

Hi sweets & thanks to you for helping me to re-focus. I think you & I both NEED to feel accountable. Being breathalysed while on a wine ban was very ironic! I didn't want to say that to the policeman(who was very cute btw) or he may have thought I was alcoholic! It's a good reminder though, because if I lost my license, I think we would have to move & I am not ready for that! 3 drinks is my limit & only if I have eaten.
I got a call from one of our good friends in Melbourne, to tell us that another of our old friends died on Wednesday. He had Leukemia & was coping well with radiation but needed a bone marrow transplant. They found a match with his sister, he had the transplant, but got an infection in the hospital & died suddenly. It was a big shock to us as we hadn't even known that he was sick. We had gradually lost touch with him & his wife over the years, but he still saw lots of our other friends regularly. There used to be a big group of us & we spent lots of time together when we were in our 20's. We used to meet up & go see bands etc or have a party, went to one another's weddings etc.
The ones that still live in Melbourne see one another fairly often. We are waiting to hear that one of our very good friends has died. He is now home having palliative care & we spoke to his wife yesterday. She doesn't think he will last another week. We will go over for his funeral/wake. He has had a stroke & has 2 inoperable cancers. He is only 63!
All of this reinforces our belief in living life to the full. There is no point worrying yourself sick about having enough money for your retirement & not enjoying your life. Our holiday is going to be a wonderful relief! I am going to feel guilt at leaving my Mum for a month, but also relief at having a break.
Bye for now, xoxo Cate

Can they just randomly give you a breathalyzer for no reason where you're at, or were you driving badly? :)

I suppose practically it's not much of a difference as here whatever BS justification they come up with for doing it tends to be good enough for court unless you have a high priced lawyer.

Yes they can. It is actually called random breath testing here. Stupid law really as I think you should be seen to be doing something wrong before they can pull you over. It is seen as a revenue raiser by most. I am a good driver, cheeky! Cheers, Cate
