A quick check-in this morning as I will be away all day, watching G play 8-ball.
Feeling good & actually looking forward to my next FD. Crazy I know :D
 
So happy you are liking your new diet! I've had a few days where I exercised a lot and eaten around 1,000 calories, and it felt really good. Not the same as fasting, but it just feels like the body likes detoxing!

Hope you had a fun day out supporting G!

I talked to my friend and he said his shower is nice and clean thanks to microfibre cloth and vinegar .
Good going on the FD . You make it sound so doable .
I’m going to examine my diary now and see where I can easily cut out calories and save some . Even just 100 for a few days a week
 
Good news Petal! I'm glad it works for him. I'm a bit slack with housework. I grew up in a household where reading a good book probably had higher priority than vacuuming.
Re: fasting, but especially 5:2- I particularly love not feeling like I am perpetually "on a diet". It seems to suit my mindset. I really feel slimmer & am looking forward to my next FD!
 
I decided not to do a 500 cal FD as it would have been 3 in one week & I don't want to be doing that!
Oats, a banana, a tsp of honey & almond milk for breakfast.
It's bucketing down, so we won't be wood-gathering today. I'll get on my bike later.
I'm feeling good today & definitely feel lighter. I didn't weigh though & won't again until Wed maybe. I might do a FD tomorrow, depending on how I wake. That's the joy of 5:2- it's adaptable.

Just made a FD SOUP-only 172 cals & depending on how I wake I might "fast" tomorrow.
Have done 20 squats & 5km on my bike.

It's a lovely sunny day today, after a lot of rain yesterday. G & I will gather wood today I think. We sat up late watching Le Tour but didn't sit up until the finish. I can't stay awake for anything.
I am doing a 500 cal "fast" today & won't have anything until after 12. I woke not hungry at all.
 
I love when I wake not hungry . Unfortunately doesn't happen often. I do try not to eat after 7 pm and at least go 12 hours without eating . I have a feeling when we hear your weight loss we will all be starting FD !! Lol

By not eating after 7 pm & going 12 hours without any food you will be doing your body lots of good. A lot of people do 16:8, instead of 5:2, but that means not having breakfast every morning & only eating in an 8-hour "window", say 11-7, or 12-8. I would rather do 5:2 I think as I love breakfast & 2 days a week without is not such a hardship. It seems that a lot of people can lose weight consistently doing 16:8, without seriously restricting their calories. I find it all really interesting.I'll keep it in mind for later I think.
I'm spending more time online at the moment to distract myself.
I have done 20 squats & 5 km on my bike today & may do some more I think. I think I'll have a no sugar lemonade soon to trick my brain into thinking it's having a glass of wine.
Edit: Have put my calories in for the day & will come in at just under 500. Happy about that.
Had 3 small felafels, with 20g hummus(yummy!) & the rest of my soup & then 1.5 kiwi fruit. I feel pleasantly full.
I may not do another fast tomorrow as I think it would then be too long before I did another. I think they work better when you have a few days between each one anyway.
 
All sounds really sensible to me . Cate I know with some people trying to beat diabetes they try to have that 16 hour fast which seems to help . Reminds me I have not had an evening meal so better have something soon
 
I know that I feel better doing this, LaMa & Petal, but am yet to see any results on the scales. I feel much lighter!

I have also been looking at a forum that is just for people following 5:2 & asked them if it is "normal" not to see weight-loss for a while & apparently the 1st few weeks nothing happens on the scales, but the clothes feel looser & then whoosh- consistent weight-loss. That is a relief.
When I got on the scales this morning it made me a bit crabby & I decided to do another "fast" today. It has been easy- much easier than usual, so I will keep that in mind further down the track.
Dinner tonight is going to be lamb chops & veggies.
"Lunch" was 15 g of Territory Jerky & lots of green tea. I am only just starting to get hungry & it's 4.22pm. Most days I am hungry at this time & that's after having 2 meals already.
I actually feel really good, but must admit I'm looking forward to dinner tonight (& breakfast tomorrow, which will be avocado & eggs on sourdough oat toast.)
 
That’s interesting cate . I’m a bit wary to stand on scales after last weeeknd but not due to weigh until Saturday. But likewise my clothes do feel looser but I’m not seeing a huge weight loss . Still I’m lighter than may 1 and by next may well hopefully I be lighter still . Go girl you doing good
