Cate's Diary

Well done for coming second - and your exercise level would be great.

Count me as another one that would have abandoned the idea of being out in the rain... I did enough of that before I got a treadmill...

Thanks, Cory, LaMa, Sun & Omega. I would have stayed at home going back one year, but now I am more determined to play more often. I did get soaked however & must have some dry clothes in my locker & more appropriate golfing clothes. I'm glad I pushed myself through it. I felt quite proud of myself for not quitting.
G & I ran the last chook run of the season (a turkey run) & we both played early(2'ish & worked until 9 pm). G won a chook. We actually had a pleasant evening. I stocked the fridges as they looked awful. I got thanked by most of the people there last night. They are a different bunch to the usual players. They are respectful & very friendly. Daylight savings ends this Sat night so the chook runs finish until the end of the year. G & I are no longer committed to running them.

How long is a chook? Like 5 k or 10 k? Also, can we talk for a minute about how Americans use Freedom Units for literally everything unless it's races and 2 liter bottles of soda? Sometimes my country makes no sense.

Cory- I had to look up freedom units. I have never heard that expression. How long is a chook made me laugh out loud, but I have to admit I put "chook" in there on purpose, knowing someone wouldn't know what it was. We do call chickens chooks, though. We run a 9-hole golf comp on Thursdays during daylight savings & the best scores(depending on numbers) win a frozen chook each.
I knew you'd give in and do the fridges again :D
I know! :blush5:
G won a chicken? This makes me very happy :)
Me too hon. He is lovely.

I had a really good cleaning up day yesterday (& a good eating day). I have decided to do a major "Autumn clean". There will also be much de-cluttering. I was going to go to the market today, but instead, I will continue with the cleaning & also attempt a FD (<500 cals).
I have stripped & re-made the bed & got a load of washing going already so am off to a good start.

Efficient days tend to make me feel accomplished and more likely to make sensible food choices. Many hugs, just because :)

I had another productive day yesterday & got lots more sorting & cleaning done. I must admit I could happily stay at home again today. I just mentioned that to G & suggested we both go for a drive tomorrow & take V out for lunch. He agreed. I'm glad I didn't call her yesterday. We'll do some food shopping tomorrow too. He has been roped in to "fill in" for the pennant golf team today so I will get heaps done again. I will get a big bag of things to take to a charity store in D-city, instead of one of our local ones.
I have settled down again this week. I usually do. I don't want to leave our lovely home for quite some time yet. It's a haven away from the smelly, noisy, busy world.

:iagree: You are fortunate to have such a haven...

I knew a chook was a chicken - and worked out that it was some sort of golf contest which involved chickens - and this is the only place that I've ever come across freedom units... I tried googling it and am still not sure I understand it...

Well done for having got all that cleaning done... You are certainly feeling controlled if you can manage a day <500 calories....

Well done for having a clear out - tidy home, tidy mind! Organising stuff always makes you feel good and in control :)

Glad you're feeling settled again hon. I must follow your lead on the decluttering, my room is an absolute mess. I always feel calmer when it's tidy. Hope you have another productive day. x

Thanks, LaMa, Omega, Sun & Emily :grouphug:
I have been very productive, but started a job in the afternoon & hadn't finished it when G got home. I'll take a photo later & post it. I started in one corner of our snooker room. Mistake. I opened up a trunk that was full of old vinyl 45's & decided I would sort them out. I am trying to match them to their correct sleeves to start off with & then I'll work out which ones I want to keep. Oh, my! They are all over the covered up snooker table!
I haven't rung my friend yet & had better do that now & get moving soon. Autumn sure has arrived. We have lit the wood heater :( The nights are very chilly already, but the sun is shining now :)

:) Again it sounds like the same weather we have. Sorting through old records sounds like a job for two people - with some reminiscing thrown in for good measure.

Today is day 1 of a reset.
I am back to tracking everything on My Fitness Pal.
I'm aiming for <1300 cals per day but will allow some extra if my exercise warrants it.
I'm not attempting 5:2 this month again as it does my head in when I don't succeed with staying under 500 cals.
I think I overcompensate on the other days & it feels like too much of a roller coaster.
I'll stick with just lowering my cals overall for a week or 2, but then I might try cutting out bread & pasta altogether for a week. We leave for Sri Lanka on the 6th of May & I want to lose a couple of kilos before then.

Changing things up when old strategies aren´t working so well is a good idea. I´m cutting back on simple carbs as well; I think they´re making me cravy.

Yeah I think trying and failing at the fast days does nothing for your sense of wellbeing. Your new approach sounds better.

I think it's good that you're willing to change things up rather than just continuing to try the same old thing or completely give up. The longer we go, I think it's common to find that things that used to work might not work now for whatever reason.
