Cate's Diary

Kate i am sorry you went through such anxiety and i was away not here to at least give you a little support.I am very happy to see though that even though you have this syndrome it is not that bad and as i read glasses may help. What are the steps to be taken now with your eyes?
Have you weighed in?You must not allow yourself to get way off.A lirttle gain is normal but only when you understand and take control back again.I am sure you are strong enough and i am not scared a bit!Waiting for your news!Loves and kisses!

Mr Vee- I passed on your congrat's. Thank you for your comments re my eyes. I will take care. That was sweet of you.
Nostalgic-.........I haven't weighed yet. Scales are scary!! I'm laying off the honey though.
Jess-....now I'm embarrassed about not weighing. I feel like an Ostrich (fat-arsed one), burying my head in the sand. I want to know, but I don't want to know. Scary! Tomorrow, I promise. Re my eyes- I already wear glasses all the time now, but it's the headaches that are the biggest pain. I get them every day. I may have to spend less time on the computer.

Once again I have NOT gone to golf. :( Our DIL's stepfather's funeral is at 1pm. He has had cancer for years. We will go to show support for our DIL's mother. Her husband was not a good or nice person & is responsible for a lot of our DIL's mental issues.

I really need to get into a new routine that is going to have me feeling good about my body again. I am in a rut. I feel fat & lazy & that is horrible. We were so active on our holiday & I have been so inactive since we got back that I feel sad about it.

New start tomorrow, the 1st of August 2013.

Love to all. Tomorrow is the day I start again & make my brand new ending xoxo Cate

WOW!-I just wanted to share a post I just saw from our 14 year old grandson to one of his friends on Facebook-
"Thomas this is how awesome my Nan is. haha"
How good is that?
He & his friend have been playing pranks on one another & I joined in. That has made my day!
I SOOOO love our 3 grandkids!
xoxo Cate

Heya sweetie

You are an awesome Nan!!!!!! You rock :)

The scales are scary aren't they but I have an addiction to them and get on them at least twice a day!!!!!!! I can't help it, I know I shouldn't as most of the time they piss me off lol

I'm doing good this week so far Yay!!!

Love and hugs Xoxoxo

New start for the 1st August means a new weigh in? You can do this!
And don't be hard on yourself, missing golf, sounds like you had a good reason to miss it. I'm not sure who DIL is, I'm sorry for the loss,

That is so sweet, your grandson is the best.

Hun- Wasn't that lovely! I can't imagine much better than my grandson saying to one of his mates that I am an awesome nan! :beating: I am going to have to become an obsessive weigher again I can see. Starting today. I am going to weigh every day for the whole month of August. Let's kick some butt sweetie!! xoxo

Nostalgic- DIL is my daughter-in-law. They are no longer together, but she is still the mother of my grandchildren & I wanted to be there as support for her & the grandkids. Our son went too. Our grandson is the best. He's such a sweetie & we are very close. I have weighed, I have weighed!!!!! All bad :(

Weight-
85kg!
:( :( :(

Exercise-
15.53km on my bike in 32 mins, with sweat pouring off me. :hurray:

I'm back!!

Day 1 of my new start.
Now, I'm off to make a new ticker. I am accountable & I am back with a bloody vengeance!
Much love to all, including myself. I am picking myself up & moving on to better things, xoxo Cate

Way to get re-dedicated on the weight loss number.

I firmly believe there's no point in fretting about weight gained in the past. For about the first six months of this, even while having lots of success, I beat myself up over letting things get so out of hand.

But even though I probably missed out on a lot by gaining all that weight, I feel like the process of losing all this weight has been a great experience I otherwise wouldn't have had. It really is true that sometimes you have to be without something (in this case "health" and "fitness") before you can truly learn to appreciate it. It's always nice in the rare situation when you can then actually get it back.

So less and less now do I get down on myself for gaining the weight in the first place. I suppose it helps that despite all the years with the weight, I'm still so damned good looking. :D

Mr Vee- I LOVE your sense of humour!! You always make me laugh. You're right of course that there is no sense beating yourself up about how you should have done things differently. I don't know any perfect people, except for you maybe. Ha ha. It feels good to have made a firm decision & an equally firm commitment to be as healthy & as fit as I can.

Well done on the refocus. 5 kgs to go, you can so do this!

It was nice of you to be there for her. My grandad passed a year ago and it's hard living so far away as I couldn't be there for the funeral but my brother made a speech and mentioned why I couldn't be there and that it was hard.
He met Lucien on one of my trips and that will always be a great memory as he had always wanted a great grandchild. He was so happy that last time I saw him.

Thanks Mystic & Nostalgic I am so pleased that I managed to complete a really good day!!
I did another 5km on my bike, so over 20km in total.
I did not have any sugar!!!
I am about to have a hot lemon drink with 1 teaspoon honey.
I did not have one thing that I shouldn't all day & already i feel much better!!

Heya sweetie :)

I'm loving your new focus........We are totally gonna smash this.....you with your 5kg and me with my uuuum 26LB!!!!!!! I have a feeling that you will make your target a tad sooner than me :)

Glad you had a good day and you sound really excited to back on it. I am too :)

Love and hugs xoxoxo

isn't honey a myth or are you just doing it for the taste?

Good job for motivating yourself so much !
Thanks Benny. I have honey in my hot lemon drink at night for medicinal purposes. It is just as high in calories as sugar I know. I use fresh lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of honey & a lemon/ginger teabag as well. I think it helps with my Asthma & subsequent cough-
This quote is from fitday-
"Honey’s Medicinal Purposes-
Honey might help you deal with a few common health ailments. For example, honey might alleviate cold symptoms, especially sore throats. When swallowed, honey coats the surface of your throat and soothes throat pain. Honey might also suppress a cough. In addition, if you suffer form chronic sinus infections you may find honey to be more effective than prescription medicines at combating their symptoms. Honey’s antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties give it a leg up over white sugar, which scientists haven’t found to treat any illnesses."

I feel like doing a happy dance Kate!! I should be doing a grumpy dance because I have regained but I just feel so much better physically & mentally after only one solitary day of eating cleanly. Imagine how we will feel WHEN (not IF) we stick at it. I had turned into one of these since our trip-

Actually sloths get a bad rap. I was lazier than a sloth!
Now I want to be one of these-

I think I'll have to get rid of my signature. It takes up too much space!
Today's weight-

My mother actually used to put some honey + lemon in a cup and 30 seconds microwave, and it would help a lot against sore throat & such !

Re honey:
Not only is it great for all the things cate mentioned, I have heard it is used to help heal superficial burns and cuts etc, I just can't remember the article I read on it. it has many healing properties.

Manuka honey from nz is supposed to be one of the best in the world :D

Germs can't live in honey. They have found honey in ancient tombs that is still in really good condition. A "use by" on honey or a "best before" is crazy!
It is still very fattening though :(
