Cassie's Diary

morning cassie!

Out of four kids, i really lucked out most of the time. I have boy girl boy girl, and they are all far apart, so no one really fights. Lately my 13 yr old likes to kinda pick at my 16yoD, or maybe his little sis, but he knows Id whoop his ayass if he ever just up and hit em! That and his bigger brother would do some whoopin' too! Turn him into a little pretzel! No around here its usually survival of the wits..who can steal the last piece of bread and not even tell mom we are out, or.. who can jump in the shower before the others, use ALL the hot water, and then giggle when the next person jumps in and screams five minutes into their shower for lack of any warmth. Yup, that is how it is around here every day. IM the one that wants to ball up my fist, I tell Ya!

After dealing with a week of gray and gloom, Im really kinda sorry about the snow, much as I love it! Im also happy for you that you got a lil extra sleep. Hopefully your body will adjust better as things go along. I sure hope so.

your food looks great! mine not so hot friday. but since im almost back where i starteed two weeks ago, i think i need to really buckle down HARD!

Hi all :D HH, I don't think I've gotten more than 6 hours sleep in..... well, years. I tend to get up early just to have time to myself or to get things done at a slower pace to great the day GENTLY before being toppled  Wasn't able to get the neighbor shoveled as he said he wasn't going to go anywhere for a while so I took the time to make my "famous" gyros ( MUCH better flavor and healthier than a restaurant) complete with tzatziki sauce :D MMMMMMM LOVE greek food!!!!

Scrappy - Doo, I have 8 inches I'll airmail ya! I can't have any cocoa (using my calories for gyros :D) but I sure will watch it for ya ;) Last night was the REAL show - white out conditions for quite a while as we sat here playing PS2 and chattin' with a friend who was visitin'. It was that really fluffy stuff that flies a lot but usually goes away pretty quick with the wind the next day. I like lookin' at it for a while then I get bored and wish spring would hurry up! LOL

Kate, thats how it was when I was livin' at Mama and Papas . Although there were 3 girls and 1 "baby" boy so we all ganged up on him until he'd hit us and get in trouble with Papa :D Ain't we stinkers!?!?! I REALLY shouldn't have gyros today (can you smell 'em cookin'??? :D) as tomorrow is weigh in, but I have drank 64oz of my water today and more to follow. Also, I have tried to be sooooo good so that when this "occasion" does arise I can have it. I will still be within my calorie range, but I think its more sodium than I normally have ( I don't add a lot when I make the meat, but there is a fair amount in the tortillas and sourcream as they area prepackaged). Oh well, suckin' down water aughta help a little. As for sleep, I think I will have a hard time hittin' the hay as early as I am supposed to in order to get up on time tomorrow - BUT I don't have to get the kids off to school this week or pack their lunches so it's extra time bought. (I hope)

okay.... more food (imagine that!! ) as soon as it comes out of the oven....

1 gyro w/ tortilla
1 gyro w/o tortilla (gyro salad if you will :) )

ooops! timer just went off! MMMMMMMM salivating this much is NEVER pretty! :p :D be back soon :D

Hey Bize. Just checking in with you. You sound busy as ever! Congrats on the job promotion. Wow, after only five minutes - you go girl! :) Sorry about the kids roughing each other up. One of those "boys will be boys" type of things. Sounds like they got the lecture of a lifetime. Hopefully that will encourage some brotherly love for at least a while. :)

Sleeping in to 5:30 is much better than four! Glad you are getting the chance to get some rest in! Keep up your great work....Hope you are having a great weekend!

Hey Cassie! Just stopping by to check in on ya! I just don't think I could manage with only 6 hours of sleep all the time. I'd act even nuttier than I already do! Those gyros sound really good. Care to share the recipe? :D

Hi ever'one! :D Fluff, there had better be some "brotherly love" by the time I get them back from my ex! LOL As for "rest".... um, whaz that???? ;)

HH, I am already as nutty as it gets! :p :D I would love to share the recipe with you! I will PM it too you (and anybody else) b/c it is too long to post here. Not hard, just time consuming - when I make these I reserve a good 3 hour chunk of time.

I AM SOOOO PROUD OF ME!!!! I figured I wasn't gonna get any exercise here as it is sooo cold (-5 to -10 with windchill) and we have stuff all over our livingroom today. BUT I WALKED TODAY!!! I KILLED our giant hill! :D I did 5 miles in 1 1/2 hours, 50% straight up hill, in the blowing and drifting snow! I did need my inhaler just shy of halfway through due to the cold and I was race walking in "sand" (the snow was just like walking in sand) - I felt more like I ran the whole way, yeesh. It was so cold that when I got home my water bottle was a frozen slushy and I was holding it in my mittened hands!!! I couldn't even smile when I got home since my facial muscles were so cold and now my legs are itching and picking as they are thawing out! BUT I DID IT and i am sooo proud of me *pat, pat, pat* :D

Now I don't feel so guilty about my gyro and gyro salad ;) Now to tie up the days loose ends. Lets see....

rest of food:

protein shake (made with water)

(yup, thats it for dinner. Not even hungry really since lunch was HUGE)

total calories 1198 :)

water: 100 oz

COME ON SCALE MOVE DOWN FOR ME...... PLEASSSE!!!! :p :D

Please?! What are you talking about? Scales don't listen when you are nice, you know that! You gotta threaten that sucker! Lol! :D

Thanks for the recipe. Good job with the walking! Just be careful and don't get frostbite or hypothermia!

Mornin' HH :D I think my scale got sick of threats (besides, I think if I threatened EVERY time and didn't follow through, it would figure I wasn't serious) :D IT WENT DOWN 3.6 # FOR ME THIS MORNING!!!!YAY!!!! *happy dance* OHHHH I am sooo excited! I am almost out of the 190's!! wah-hoo! I even did it twice to be sure! LOL I have to say that, quite honestly, I am surprised. Not b/c I wasn't good, but b/c I just FEEL heavy this morning.... not sure why, but I feel like a walking fat blob today... hmm. Oh well, I'm slowly shrinkin' so i'll ignore it :D

Actually got up at 5:30 this mornin' (after waking up at 2,3 and 5). I made myself lay there. I went to bed around 9 with a whopper of a headache that I think was from playing the PS2. Was fine until then. I am a little sore this mornin' from my walk (in the shoulders not my legs - its where I tend to "store" stress). I guess fightin' the wind is somethin' my body doesn't like much. Oh well, it'll deal :D

So far today (and packed for today)

protein shake (made w/ water)

toast (white :( )
margarine
milk

gyro meat on light wheat w/ LF swiss
tzatziki sauce

water so far - none, but as soon as its done filtering I'll be on it :D

Start my "new job" with in the new job today  Hope I don't get all chocolate..... that has SOOO many solutions when I come home! LOL ;)
K, gotta run to see how many of ya I can get to this mornin' :D

Ok, so now we are being nice to the scale? Just wanted to make sure so I know what to do with mine! Lol! If it works for you, maybe it will work for me! :D Congratulations on the loss!

Doesn't that suck when you keep waking up at night? I hate that! I always have to wake up just to turn over these days. :( Too bad that you are sore from yesterday. Hope you get to feeling better as the day goes on. Have a good day at work!

Morning Cassie! WOOHOO! Congrats with that scale moving girl! :) You are rockin right along there. That is so awesome. :) Yay, I"m doing a little dance of joy for you. Let us know how the job goes today too!

Me again :D Hi HH and NewLeaf ! HH, i figure the scale is like a young child. If you tell it you are gonna do something and don't do it a lot, it tends to thing you won't do it EVER and the threats stop working. :D SO, today I tried being nice to it to throw it a curve and it showed me numbers I liked :D hehehe As for sleep, well, waking up during the night does suck, but if I can go back to sleep without laying awake for eons, it isn't bad. Its the waking up and NOT falling back asleep for a while that gets me

NewLeaf, I am hoping with the new postition at work the darned scale will keep going down;)

Today started out really well but kind of is ending on a bummer note. Work was awesome ( I was asked if I would consider permanent employment with them) - I really like doing the chocolate molds and moving around so much (sure beats sitting in a chair for 8 hours). BUT my feet and legs ACHE so much! I went from being on my feet 8 hours a day last summer to staying home and doing "normal" up and down things to sitting in a chair for 8 hours, now I am back to being on my feet for 8 hours and they need to get "re-broke in" to it. It'll be a good 4 or 5 days to get back to my "normal" self.

To top it all off, I got home and listened to a message from my neighbor. She is in the hospital (she's 70) and they think it's cancer/ lukemia. While she is in the hospital and recouping, I am going over to do their laundry and dishes and whatever else needs doing. It will be after and before work to get it all done and our regular stuff here at home. I don't know how long this will be, but HE has diabetes and cancer, has had for some time, and can't do it very easily either.....

THEN my mom thinks I am mad at her b/c I haven't emailed or called her. It isn't that I don't wanna, its that I just haven't had time since I started working. :( My mom became my best friend when I moved out and we usually talk once or twice a day. To not call her or email her for a week is not something I usually do! I emailed her today and let her know that I am not mad and I will call her later - AFTER I make dinner, call my neighbor, pack lunches, do laundry and do some dishes... I might hit bed before its time to get up for tomorrows work time....

ummm.. rest of food for today:

1 jalapeno chicken sausage
protein shake with milk

total calories: 1136

water today" 64 oz.

gotta run. no time for your diaries today but I will stop in to as many as I can tomorrow. I'd miss y'all too much if I didn't :D

Awww, Sweetie. That is so nice of you to help your neighbors out like that. That is going to be so rough on you though to be doing all that extra work. Hopefully, it won't be for too long. Have you heard back from your mom? Maybe she will understand how busy you really are.

Man! You have a LOT on your plate!! Don't forget - there are only 24 hours in a day. There's only so much you can do. You are doing great on your food and exercise! (How cold is it there??)

Mornin' all :D HH, I don't really helpin' 'em out. When I cook a lot of food here I bring it to them so they get a variety. They tend to eat only what can be found in a can with an occasional meatloaf or goulash tossed in. They are good neighbors, despite having to "hide" from them in the summer in order to get anything done here  They just get lonely. I called my mom and emailed her last night. She does realize how busy I am she was just feelin' like I was completely ignoring her since I haven't even "dropped a quick email" for so long. Last nights dose should tide her over until the weekend and I can either find time to see her or email/ call again.

MO2, this is the one time I wish there were more hours in a stinkin' day. Last night after posting, I made my calls made dinner, did dishes and vacuumed and wast in bed by 8:30. I didn't even undress until I woke up at 1  My husband came in to check on me at 845 he said, and I was already sleeping. HUH, wonder why that is??? *sarcasm drips* He was home a lot of the day, but I still was the one who had to do everything while he sat in his lazy boy! THEN he thinks he's gonna get a little something when HE goes to bed??? I don't think so!!! I was WAY too tired for any fun ;) Right now it is 450 and 2 degrees as long as the wind doesn't blow. Its supposed to get to low 20's today not including any windchill. BRRRR!

Well, foodies for today will be:

protein shake

toast - white ( I really need to pick up more of my bread  )
margarine
skim milk

wheat pasta w/ gyro meat and tzatziki sauce

not sure on dinner yet.

water: haven't started yet, but I will soon :)

OK off to visit ya......

Hey Girl Glad Them Scales Are Working For Ya ! Keep Up The Good Work!

What the heck?! You were on page three! Now, we can't have that, can we? There must have been a lot of activity on here today.

Just wanted to stop in and see how things are going with you. Hope the job is going well and everyone is getting used to the new routine.

By the way, I tried being nice to my scale. It didn't work. Guess I haven't been threatening it long enough for the being nice trick to work! :D

Evenin' Y'all! :D Thanks Korrie and RNW :D I think the scale realized I really would melt it down if it didn't give me a good number! LOL

HH, see what happens when I'm not home to "defend" my space!! LOL Thanks for bringin' me 'round again :D Um, it takes a good two weeks of threats, solid ones, for niceties to work! LOL Try again before killing it :D

Work was great today - still sore feet but not as bad as yesterday. Discovering that chocolate is a tempermental child who, when not able to have things exactly its way, will mess up your batch just to tick ya off to see how loud you'll scream!! LOL Got to work at 8 but, since we had to toss out the first batch due to screwed up chocolate, nothing was really produced until after Noon!! I skipped lunch break (no big thing since I scarfed down my lunch on a 10 minute "smoke break" - no I don't smoke) and left work a half hour early. I just wanted to work with the chocolate while it was workable and it happened to be workable at my normal lunch time. Go figure. I was told that I did a great job catching up despite the messed up morning but boss lady. Thats good, but I don't feel like I did enough  I'm that way, though. I am much tougher on myself than others usually are but thats b/c I know I can do better than I did - just hate having to rely on the machine for "success".

On another note, called daycare to find out what the summer rates were.. OMG!!!!!!!!! $50 per day with no half day options!!! Excuse me, but last I looked I wasn't a GD millionaire who can afford to work to make others rich!!!! I figured out that after daycare was taken out of a full time paycheck I would make shy of $200 for 80 hours of work (paid biweekly) now what?!?!?! There aren't any kids who I trust to watch the boys, I can't leave them alone for the whole day ( a few hours is okay), but I can't work FT just to pay daycare!!! I really want to keep this job but what am I gonna do for the summer??? YOu would think that a teenager would want and extra 100 a week in their pocket but the ones I trust haven't bitten or already have a job that pays more. Mama lives too far away to haul the boys every morning. OH well, I'll have to think of something....

rest of eats for today:

protein drink
chicken sausage

total calories: 1113

total water: 64oz  really need more....

well, off to "destress" before bed..... See y'all in the morning! :D

$50 a DAY!! That is outrageous! A few years ago when my daughter was in full time day care, year around, it was only about $60 per week! I mean, I realize that we don't live in the same state, but that really is a lot. You still have a couple months before summer, so put out feelers for a teenager to watch them. They may not be really thinking about it now, but as it gets closer to summer, someone may decide that they really would like some extra money. Don't worry this early about it, it will all work out. :D

Day care rates are outrageous! I know women who have quit their jobs because they cant make enough to afford the day care, or the difference is so close that it didnt make working worth the effort.

I hope you can find a good solution for finding care for your boys this summer. Do you have an adult friend or neighbor, maybe someone with kids around the age of your sons, that wouldnt mind having them over during the days? I am sure something will work out.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your job. Does the place you work smell great because of all the chocolate - or do you just get used to it and not notice it so much? I think I would love to work (or sit, stand, wash dishes, whatever) around the aroma of chocolate. Yum!

Keep up the great work! :)
