Cantona's Calorie Cutout Countdown Continuum (updated weekly)

Well last Thursday I went to the gym to sort my new plan out. Friday I woke up feeling a bit under the weather but decided to hit the gym anyway. I was really feeling it on the treadmill so I stopped and I didn't really feel the experience was worthwhile. Woke up very early Sunday as my throat was so swollen and sore. Didn't have breakfast or lunch on Sunday, couldn't face it.

Didn't have breakfast on Monday, but had lunch. Out of the blue got a job offer for the next day. Went to see some mates Monday evening and didn't really get home in time to have dinner. Due to me needing to go to bed.

Tuesday started my job. Awake at 5am and had breakfast. Finished work at 2.30 and had lunch then.

So there's a start to my new regime. Wake up at 5am for breakfast. Fruit for a snack in the morning, the lunch (soup) at 2:30/3, dinner at 7:30.

Still recovering from a cold, so only been to the gym on Friday, will start going back Friday or Saturday at the latest.

Friday: Fish and chips
Saturday: Steak and chips
Sunday: Roast pork, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, broccoli
Monday: Didn't really have dinner :(
Tuesday: Shepherds pie
Wednesday: Steak pie, mash, green beans
Thursday: Pizza Express

Happy Days.

Until next time, weight loss fans.

Interesting beginning to this "week" (starting on Friday). Went on a bit of a travel on Sunday. Went to watch the football with old uni mates that I hadn't seen since last May. They seemed really surprised and pleased at how I look. Almost obsessed. I wouldn't say I look "thin" or even normal weight, but it probably just shows how massive I was before. Had some food in the pub for lunch. A BBQ chicken and bacon melt with chips. There's worse food you can have in there.

I left the pub for the 3 hour trip back home at 7pm. So decided to grab a Subway on the way home. It was that or service station Burger King, so I thought it would be a bit healthier. Had a Spicy Italian with Lettuce, tomato, onion, pepper, olive and mayo. Not had one since probably last May either. It wasn't as nice as I remember. I used to eat at least 2/3 of them a week, just for convenience really (and a footlong every time). I'll stick to my soup.

Monday I was at work on a late shift (2pm-10pm), so that means eating in the canteen, unless I make something myself, it wouldn't be hot though, and the menu looks pretty good.

Got my shift changed on Monday to earlys for the week. So Tuesday I went back in and did my early routine and again on Wednesday. Went to the gym, decided I'm gonna try going every other day on earlys (after work) and everyday on lates (before work).

Friday: Pork chop, jacket potato, veg
Saturday: Chicken in sauce, stir fry, rice
Sunday: Subway
Monday: Beef stew with potatoes and carrots
Tuesday: Spaghetti Bolognaise
Wednesday: Fish and chips
Thursday: Shepherd's pie

Actual starting weight: 20 stones 7lbs

Current Weight: 15 stones 13lbs

Next target: 15 stones 7lbs

Weight lost: 4 stones 8lbs

Not a big loss, but it'll do. BETTER THAN NOTHING.

Worked late this week at work, so have to eat at the canteen. No idea if the food is full of rubbish or not. I assume it is.

Work is so knackering (especially on lates) I'm only going to hit the gym 3 times a week. I feel that once I get a bit fitter I should feel less tired at work and then hit it a bit more.

Some clothes that haven't fit me for 6 (SIX) years finally do. That is both depressing and brilliant all at the same time. This means I don't have to buy any clothes for the time being. Which is nice.

Friday: Chinese takeaway
Saturday: Steak and chips
Sunday: Roast pork, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes and parsnips
Monday: Goulash with carrots and potatoes
Tuesday: Lamb mousakka with extra courgettes
Wednesday: Meatballs in tomato sauce with rice and broccoli
Thursday: Not known yet.

STATS

UNTIL NEXT TIME.

Had the weekend off, went to the gym on Sunday and Monday. Couldn't go Wednesday (planned to do 3 weekdays) or today so going to go tomorrow. Doing well, going at it and sweating like a mad man afterwards.

Food's been going well, I thought I'd hate eating breakfast at 5am, but it's fine.

No major problems or thoughts this week.

Thursday: Turkey with stir fry
Friday: Pork curry with rice
Saturday: Roast beef, potatoes, green beans and carrots, gravy.
Sunday: Chicken in cheese and ham sauce, new potatoes, carrots and beans
Monday: Chicken, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, parsnips, gravy.
Tuesday: Sausage, mash, carrots, beans, gravy.
Wednesday: Beef pie, mash.
Thursday: Fish and chips.

Actual starting weight: 20 stones 7lbs

Current Weight: 15 stones 5lbs

Next target: 15 stones 0lbs

Weight lost: 5 stones 2lbs

Basically half way through, 12lbs until I technically become overweight and not obese. Fun.

UNTIL NEXT TIME.

I like doing this every Thursday, I feel it's not an important day, like a Monday or what have you and also I get paid every Friday, so it's like a little reward for losing weight each week.

Not really updated this as well as I perhaps should. My final goal is to be around 10 stone, which is 140lbs. I'm not sure if it should be even lower than that. But that is what I am aiming for.

With this in mind I am updating my final section with a landmarks table.

Went to the gym three times this week. Monday, Tuesday and today. More next week. Sunday included.

Actual starting weight: 20 stones 7lbs

Been a really crap week this week. Thursday started to get a cough and feel chesty. Went to the gym on Friday, struggled a bit but got through. Went on Sunday and felt fine. Then tried to go on Monday and really struggled. Went to the doctor and got told I had a chest infection. Brilliant. So I'm having a rest from the gym until I feel much better. This probably means I'll be knackered the next time I go.

Also the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday was glorious canteen food.

Still even without the gym it was still a loss this week and another target met.

So anyway:

Friday: Fish, wedgies, carrots and broccoli
Saturday: Chicken wrapped in bacon with bbq sauce and cheese with chips and salad.

Such a crap week this week, very frustrating, especially having just stepped on the scales.

Spent half the week still recovering from my chest infection and then I went and played football for 3 hours on Friday and then couldn't walk for about 2 days. Only just really getting over it now.

So no gym or regular exercise for nearly 2 weeks, really crap and the proof is in the weight. I suppose it shows that exercise is important.

Friday: Gammon, new potatoes, carrots, beans
Saturday: Steak, chips, salad
Sunday: Roast chicken, potatoes, parsnips, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower
Monday: Spaghetti Bolognaise, garlic bread
Tuesday: Sausage, mash, carrots, green beans, gravy

The first time I've not lost weight in a week. Not fun.

After last weeks fiasco I went back to the gym for the first time in two weeks thanks to the illness. It was hard work and I was tired, but it felt good. Went again one Wednesday, very similar. Will go again on Friday and at the weekend and back on Monday and then repeated.

So close to the next big goal, really was frustrated with last week. But this week has been amazing.

Been selling some old fat-man-me clothes on ebay and getting in new ones. Some don't yet fit. Which sounds stupid, but means at some point they will and thus last longer.

Put my old jeans on yesterday for a laugh. They fell down. Brilliant.

I think I may have dropped a shoe size as well. As mental as that sounds, I'm (or was) as size 10. but basically because I had wide feet. I think they're shrinking.

Really happy with how it's going. Shame nobody responds to this anymore. Perhaps I'm not entertaining enough.

Dinners:

Thursday: Beef mince wellington with roast potatoes and carrots & swede.
Friday: Ham and cheese pasta bake with new potatoes, carrots, swede and leek
Saturday: Pork chop, jacket potato, carrot and broccoli
Sunday: Roast beef, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, broccoli, cauliflower and gravy.
Monday: Chicken, stir fry, noodles
Tuesday: Spaghetti Bolognase with garlic bread
Wednesday: Fish, chips and peas.
Thursday: Sausage, mash potato, veg, gravy

I read every week. Also with a great deal of envy at how bloody well you're doing. Seriously..You just blow me away. A loss EVERY week (apart from that one time)..It's just brilliant. You're a true inspriation and show that you can still have yummy dinners and drop the pounds.

What do you have for lunch? Cause your dinners have garlic bread and pasta and chips and cheese and delicious (but not so healthy) things in them. How do you still lose weight? How often do you go to the gym?

Cheese and pasta is alright in moderation and you do need carbs and fats in your diet. I would say everything is OK in moderation. I don't eat any crisp or chocolate or anything other than fruit as a snack. I only drink water.

I felt with all those cut backs I was making, eating a decent dinner should be fine.

I basically have 3 different days that map out what and when I eat; work at 6am, work at 2pm and a day off.

Work at 6am means breakfast at 5am: porridge and a banana (chopped up in the porridge). I then have a piece of fruit at about 9am as a snack and then another at 12. I get home from work about 2:30pm and have soup with a bit of fruit for after. We then have dinner about 7:30 most nights. If I feel hungry I'll have a bit of fruit afterwards.

Work at 2pm means breakfast around 8/9 depending how lazy I am. Mid morning bit of fruit, soup around 1ish with some fruit afterwards. Canteen dinner at around 5:30. Fruit snack at around 8:30. Home at around 10:30 and have some fruit.

Day off is basically the same as "work at 2pm". But I'll have an afternoon snack at around 4 and then dinner at 7:30 with fruit after if I feel hungry.

The dinners, without sounding all Jamie Oliver, are all freshly cooked stuff. I still live with my mum and older sister and I do most of the cooking, so I know what's going in the stuff. We buy fairly decent food (well, my mum does), so I'm able to make better things than a ready meal (and other such foods you eat at uni that I used to buy). I was proper huge though, I can remember having a Subway for lunch and then another take away for dinner.

So yeah, same breakfast and lunches quite a few days (I suppose it can be boring to some people, but 6 months in and I'm not bothered).

I try to go to the gym four times a week. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and then either Saturday or Sunday. Sometimes I go alot more, but the minimum I try and do is 4.

You've started out lower than me and as such it's more difficult to lose weight. At a guess, I assume according to your BMI that you're not classed as OBESE? I technically still am and is probably why it's easier to shift. I'm expecting the weight loss to stop fairly soon.

Thanks for sharing! You really are doing so well..And you're right, it will slow down eventually but like you said, 6 months in and you're still going strong. You've lost so much and I'm sure you'll reach your goals. Good luck and keep up the amazing work x

I hadn't noticed your weight loss journal until now and absolutely stunned by your incredible progress and self-control. I look forward to following your journey from now on. I am truly in awe of you. Congratulations on coming so far.

I've only just come across your diary now also- VERY inspiring!!! I will definitely be checking in again. Keep up the amazing work!! It's great you are still eating normal food- it means that you have definitely made it a lifestyle change :) Congrats on getting the job too!

Aha, It's nice to have some feedback. You are right luzdafuzz, it is a lifestyle change. That's what it's about not fad diets or having surgery.

Went to the gym 5 days in a row this week because I won't be able to go Friday/Saturday/Sunday. It's good to plan ahead I find just because one day you might not fancy the exercise but then you find you can't go a couple of days later, and thus, you've wasted two days instead of just one. Although today I feel alot more tired than normal.

Monday to Wednesday ate in the staff canteen. Monday I only had enough money for one piece of chicken (it wasn't big) and some stuffing that it came with. Didn't really fill me up. The other two days were good though.

The woman at the gym today said I could get a free nutritional consultation, so going to that soon and find out anything I didn't know. Maybe pizza will be good for me. I'd like that.

Making good progress, I wonder when it is it I'll actually look thin. Because I still look quite, quite fat.

Bought a couple of t-shirts one size too small yesterday online. I did this to give me a goal to strive towards. No idea if it'll work, but they are quite cool. I want them to fit now :(

Friday: Beef burger and potato wedgies with salad
Saturday: Steak and chips with salad
Sunday: Roast Pork with roast potatoes, parsnips, cauliflower, carrots, runner beans and gravy.
Monday: Roast chicken with stuffing (that's it :()
Tuesday: Cottage pie with cabbage.
Wednesday: Tuna pasta bake.
Thursday: Lasagna with garlic bread

Bye. x

Family came on over last weekend for my sisters birthday. So on Friday we had a Chinese. Now normally I get a chicken chow mein, some rice and a bit of side stuff. Normally I can polish off a whole tube of chicken chow mein but this time I could only manage half of it. A sign of a shrinking appetite?

Played football on Sunday for a couple of hours. The thing about football is it's a more intense exercise than the gym. I am always feeling it the next day. Tight muscles etc. So with that exercise on Sunday, I was going to have a day off Monday.

However, we're doing some filming for a competition that involved playing football on Monday and Tuesday, so I did exercise those two days.

Wednesday came around, looking to go to the gym. All full of headache and cold. Man flu :( I am still going to work, but I can't face the gym at the moment. Hoping to be ready for Saturday or Monday at the latest.

Sort of missing having a nice gym workout, maybe it's addictive.

Friday: Chinese takeaway
Saturday: BBQ meats, various salads
Sunday: Roast lamb, potatoes, carrots, broccoli, gravy.
Monday: Lamb leftovers, jacket potato, carrots and green beans
Tuesday: Chicken wrapped in bacon with bbq sauce and cheese with potato wedges and salad.
Wednesday: Mushroom tagliatelle with sweetcorn

Actual starting weight: 20 stones 7lbs

Current Weight: 14 stones 2lbs

Next target: 14 stones 0lbs

Final target: 10 stones

Weight lost: 6 stones 5lbs

Not a goal in it's self, but having my weight go below 200lbs looks good for the signature. :D

BYE.

Aimed to go to the gym on Monday, felt too tired. Was then going to go on Tuesday, but had to hang around the office arguing the toss over my pay and then get petrol. I couldn't be bothered after all that. Thought to myself that was OK, I'll just go Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tuesday night I get a phone call about a job interview Wednesday afternoon. So no gym then.

Thursday I went back after work to sort my pay out for work and then I remembered that I needed to vote, so gym either.

Friday, is my mum's birthday, so I can't really go then either

Saturday, I will be going to the gym. I BLOODY PROMISE.

Had a job interview yesterday for a job I neither need nor want. Had to wear some smart trousers, only had the one pair of smart trousers. I put them on they didn't even touch the sides. Fell straight down, I laughed and then probably realised I need to keep these up. So I wore a belt, which made me look like MC Hammer with the baggy trousers and tight (ish, lets not go mental) waist.

Anyway: FOOD

Thursday: Vegetarian lasagne (Quorn I think) with extra sweetcorn.
Friday: Roasted vegetable and tomato pasta with potato thingys (technical term)
Saturday: Sausages, mash potato, carrots, runner beans and gravy.
Sunday: Steak and chips with salad
Monday: Roast chicken, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, cabbage, green beans, carrots and gravy
Tuesday: Chicken, chips and salad
Wednesday: Spaghetti Bolognaise and garlic bread

Actual starting weight: 20 stones 7lbs

Current Weight: 14 stones 0lbs

Next target: 13 stones 5lbs

Final target: 10 stones

No longer obese guys . It doesn't feel much different, haha. (Well it does from being 20 stone.)

I was going to wait until I'd finished and do a before and after pics. But should I post some pics of my progress?

Spent the whole of Friday doing someone elses job at work. Lugging TV's about, it was like a whole work out. 8 hours of moving 60 inch TV's around. It was like going to the gym.

I promised I'd go to the gym on Saturday, but I failed. I was tired from the day before, so went on Sunday instead. This sparked me into action and I have been everyday this week. Although I woke up Wednesday thinking I wouldn't go. I snapped myself into action and went.

Today was a breeze at the gym, really enjoyed it. Can't go at the weekend because I'm working 8-4 and on Friday I have to go shopping after work, so it'll be Monday before I'm back.

Went to get my haircut today and my hair dresser commented on the weight I'd lost, this was nice, and also a reminder not to get complacent. Yes I've done quite well losing weight so far, but I'm still a fair way away from my final goal.

Oh and, I said last time I'd post some pictures of my progress, so here goes.

This is me at a mates birthday; August 2009:

*shudder* I hate this picture and in a way it spurs me on. While my official starting weight was 20.5 stones. That was calculated in October after I'd already started exercise and diet. So I can imagine being much heavier here.

This is me a couple of weekends ago at my sisters birthday; 24th April 2010:

Let me know what you think!

Friday: Sweet and sour chicken with rice. (Chinese takeaway)
Saturday: Steak and chips with salad

Hey Cantonas, you're doing amazing!! You're so cute too.

As far as getting the pictures to show, I think you need to goto advanced options, and there should be a little icon to attach photos.

Awesome job!
