Cantona's Calorie Cutout Countdown Continuum (updated weekly)

So thanks to me going to the gym last Thursday it genuinely spurred me into action. Went again on Friday (keeping to my plan of Sunday – Tuesday – Thursday – Friday), didn’t manage to complete all the cardio, because I got ANOTHER stitch. Disappointing but after no exercise for 2 weeks this is to be expected. Unbelievable how unfit you can get without exercising for 2 weeks.

Went back on Sunday, this time I managed to complete all my cardio (there was a slight lull, but I did it) it’s actually even more amazing how I managed to get back in the groove so quickly.

I also set myself a small goal of being able to write NOTHING in the naughty area of my page for a couple of weeks. I realise I haven’t done this in quite a number of weeks (maybe months), so it’ll be a challenge, but ultimately worth it I hope. I wrote this before I failed. I saw the coke advert for the first time on TV and it’s a tradition (as sad as this is) that when we see it for the first time, we have to buy coke. So Failed with the naughty area, and I haven’t had a drink for well over a week and I’m going home this weekend, so I probably will drink.

My car had its MOT on Tuesday so couldn’t (or didn’t) go to the gym on Tuesday and went on Wednesday instead. Wanted to go again today but had to be in university from 11-7, so I didn’t really have a chance. As I say going back home tomorrow so no real gym opportunity, but might go for a run when I get the chance.


Dinner:
Friday: Lamb curry with rice.
Saturday: Beef stew (beef, carrots, onion mushrooms, red wine, flour, stock, thyme, rosemary) with mashed potato.
Sunday: Sausages, baked potato with cheese and peas.
Monday: Sausages (again!) with a fairly big yorkshire pudding, broccoli, carrots and gravy
Tuesday: Roast chicken, potatoes, carrots, broccoli, some sort of “mash” – swede? And gravy.
Wednesday: Spaghetti Bolognaise with garlic bread
Thursday: Chicken, rice, carrots, broccoli

NAUGHTY:
Tuesday: A packet of cheese and onion crisps and a coke.
Thursday: Packet of crisps and some pork scratchings.

A cracking loss this week. Got a feeling I might go backwards next week. I hope not, but I have a suspicion.
 
Its a struggle mate, 10st 10lb was my worst enemy. I hovered there for weeks!

It is a struggle mate, especially since I've got very complacent with my diet and snacking on stuff. Maybe I'm doing OK, but it feels like I could do better if I wanted. But there's no way I can go the rest of my life without booze and snacks to be honest. Moderation is the key (so they say) but even that isn't working so well.

Anyway...

Went home this week and because of the snow I went home for pretty much the whole week. Six days infact. I wasn’t able to get to the gym and the snow pretty much prevented me from leaving the house all week so I’ve done no exercise. At the weekend I had some beers and ate a bit of bad stuff and it carried on. I always eat badly when I go home to visit my mum.

So I’ve piled the weight back on. Not quite 11 stone, but nearly back to it. Annoying as I don’t think I’m doing THAT badly with the food. It’s not like I’m doing it everyday and it’s not like other people don’t eat this stuff and get bigger either really. Maybe I’m destined to just stay at 11 stone. I guess I don’t look too bad with it.

Not a lot to say really this week, as I didn’t do much. Looking ahead to next week; got some family coming down to Oxford Friday and Saturday so I’ll probably eat badly and drink then, but I plan on getting back into the gym Friday and then Monday.

Advent Calendar is going to start too, not bought one yet, but I will today and then that’ll be something to put on the naughty list.

Those jeans pictures are a riot.
I have such a hate-hate, times hate, hate squared, hate infinity relationship with my jeans that my old ones will probably all be thrown out long before I can take one of those types of pictures.

Mum came to stay with me last weekend, so I ate and drank a fair bit of rubbish as we hit up some restaurants and stuff.

Then uni work really kicked in. I’ve been so busy all week doing it that I just haven’t had the time to go to the gym, so I can only imagine what this is doing to my progress. It’s annoying, but I can’t do anything about it. Doubley annoying since I know Christmas is on the horizon and I can’t see that going well.

Had so much work that I really haven’t done a lot or got much to say. Next week will be better!

So finished my uni work off this week and then celebrated in style with some beers etc. So having spent most of the first 3 days doing work and the latter part celebrating or hungover I never really got a chance to hit the gym up.

Came home for Christmas from university yesterday, which makes going to the gym harder as I live nowhere near it.

I did however go for a run today. Although there is ice and snow everywhere so I had to stop going full pelt. I plan on running.

I’m dreading christmas for my weight.

your diary is simply inspirational! ... well done for all your hard work mate - really impressive!

How did you get on over Xmas? - it is such a tough time of year when you are watching your food intake.

No matter what has happened - just screw the nut for the next 2/3 months and give it your all to get to your goal weight - you have shown that you can do it!

Im just starting my journey, and do worry about how I will live my life when I no longer feel I need to eat at a deficit. I have told myself that as long as I am active and watch what I drink / eat during the week, I can enjoy myself at the weekends.

Massive apologies for not keeping this up to date over the christmas period. I got quite a lot of time off over christmas and basically spent it not doing very much. I did very limited exercise and ate and drank way too much (much like everyone else at christmas time :()

I did however, keep track of the food I was having; It’s not exciting reading I’m afraid. All I know is that I’ve definitely put on weight (I can tell as certain clothes have got a little tight and it's a bit obvious really) and that I will be back in the gym starting tomorrow and I’m gonna get this weight down.

Only other thing that is noteworthy is that I appeared on local radio over the Christmas period. Feel free to have a listen to that:



Not posting on here is probably a big reason why I slipped. So I will be back to the weekly updates by next week!

Went to the gym again on Monday and got myself a new “plan”. Doing more free weights, so It’ll be interesting to see what difference that makes. But yeah, just nice to get into the swing of things again.

Came down with a cold. This always seems to happen to me when I’m finally making a comeback. So I skipped the gym on Monday whilst I felt shit with the intention of going on Tuesday. Went and played football instead on Tuesday which made a nice change.

Wednesday went to the gym and now today, I cannot walk. The squats have fucked my legs beyond belief. Was planning on going again today and tomorrow, but if I can’t move it’s probably not a good idea :D

Was only just able to walk again on Sunday, but I was heading home on that day so didn’t managed to get to the gym. Have spent the week looking after my mum so haven’t been able to go back to the gym.

Not a lot has happened this week and I haven’t got any scales, so this is quite boring probably :D

Went and played cricket again on Sunday and then spent the rest of the work hard at work at uni.

I do a fair bit of walking getting into uni, so I guess that is some exercise. I wanted to go to the gym, although apprehensive about the squatting situation. I kept having plans to do and meeting certain people and frustratingly I sometimes couldn’t do what I wanted or the people I wanted meet couldn’t turn up; so I COULD have gone to the gym.

I want to get back into it. It’s just frustrating because I went a year eating right and not drinking and now I’m enjoying doing some of that again (you know, a random Friday or Saturday). But I know if I want to get in proper shape (fairly muscular etc) I know I’m going to have to be just as strict again for another fair while.

I plan on getting back to the gym this coming week. Yeah.
